Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
people would beat him now, the amount of corruption that surrounds his fights
he doesnt need a loss, he needs humiliating
his ref needs to come out and admit he is paid to let him hold, not that he needs to, its pretty fuckin obvious anyway
that would be a satisfying ending tho
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
Well it's better for boxing if the guy on top "passes the torch" to a clear successor.
Otherwise, Wlad retires with the belts and the HW division is shit for years because whoever takes over after him, it'll be like "well he's just lucky Wlad retired, Wlad would have whipped him".
It's better for boxing for Wlad to lose.

Couldn't have said it better myself. So I won't. lol
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
I think he just needs a formidable challenger who is capable of putting up a fight.. whether its because he gets old or somebody good pops up, if he can get into a fight like lewis-Vitali, he can go out with a bang..
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
The division does. I like Wlad but have come to the conclusion over last 6 that he is just running up the numbers and cashing out. Like the guy ordering infinite coffee refills and checking his watch after he has paid the bill and pulled the chair away from the table, maybe nursing a blueberry muffin. Povetkin was a decent step but a crap ugly performance...Pulev is decent

Boxing is going to survive, no matter what happens with Wald.
When Wlad retires, if he retires as champion, every one of us will be saying, "Wlad got out just in time, this new crop of heavies would murder him!"
The only way for Wlad to win is to announce his retirement date now and retire whether he breaks the record or not. Even then people are going to say, he was so close to the record, he was afraid of so and so.
If he happens to break the Louis defenses record and then retires, some people are going to be hammering his record anyway.
It's not his fault that the heavyweight devision is very weak now.
I don't think it is a goofy question mate.
Yes it's not his fault that the HW division is shit but he has taken FULL advantage of that.
He can fight whoever he wants clearly so why the shit fights? Why Pianetta instead of Arreola? Why Mormeck instead or Wilder? Why Leapai instead of Fury?
Just examples but you get my point?
I think he needs a loss, it'll make a huge portion of the boxing community happier about the division.
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
He needs to be in a competetive fight at least, when was the last time he was in one of them?
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
Wlad will be appreciated after he has retired, a bit like Lennox and Calzaghe are today.
You do not miss something until it is gone. Wlad has endeavoured to unify all the belts, consistently fought the best fighters out there and handled himself well outside of the ring. For that he should retire undefeated.

i dont agree, when he goes we will start getting good HW title fights again
and a lot of fans who are now saying it would be worse without him would will then be saying - flippin nora, we have a HW division again
therell be heavyweight title fights on and people will be buying beers and inviting their mates round, people will be talking about it at work, pubs will be staying open late for it
none of that shit happens now coz the champion is boring as fuck inside and outside of the ring and he is allowed to cheat in the most boring way
Re: Does Wlad need a loss?
I really hate talking politics but our so calld hero is getting me to the pont where I only watch a heavyweight fight if he is not in it. As far as I am concerned there are other divisions bu these Alphabet soup comissions are at fault and they hold fans hostage. We pay for all this but we don't get respect. Wlad doesn' need a loss, he needs to fight the number one contenders and forget the other pretenders. This can also be alluded to the fact that he is about as active as a person in a coma. It's time for a true champion which he may be capable of or stepping down and not insulting us by fighting retreads. Respectfully speaking to my fellow fans, alphabet soup isn't nourishing and for the B.S. fights the Klitsko brothers force us to watch while they are partially at fault for hand picking these boring opponents, the names WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF should ring a familiar note.
