Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?
Heres the push down/ push off 1st method

Heres foot twist 2nd method
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmAFFvdGc_o
1) Are they actually the same thing?
2) Are they 2 different methods that both achieve the same thing?
3) Or is it just a pedantic argument that amounts to a grey area between the first two answers?#
I ask because I don't push off first I twist my foot 1st and I drive with my legs after. So I am using what I call the foot twist method.
Maybe im doing it sub optimally?
re: Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?
Also the way I see it the push off method where you push down or off makes it more difficult to get full leg drive once the hips start rotating.

Myself I prefer the joe Frazier push/down method because it allows me to get underneath my opponents punches.

I use both at the same time.

Yes, that's suboptimal. Both are the same when done correctly. If you're only doing one or the other, you're doing it wrong. Your first example, his hips are still turning fully event though his feet are moving. Your second example, he's pushing into the ground to move his weight and exaggerating the turn of the foot for the demonstration.
Re: Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?
Movement starts at the hips, thats all movement, in sport.
Re: Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?
On a reverse pivot your weight will not transfer through!fact... The movement must be linear then rotation! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6jhuvTmzSDM

However you have to move your lead foot forward and pivot on the back foot to transfer your weight through?how else would it be any different? even if his ear is in line with his coccyx the moment that he puts his foot forward his ear would be in front of his coccyx so the movement is the same as what he is talking about correct?

No its not, head going forward stops direction of power, watch a top sprinter, when they reach for the line they lose drive, half the energy goes through the front foot

If you don't use horizontal placement then how would you transfer your weight through?without Horizontal placement you wouldn't be able to load up and you wouldn't have any extension and follow through.

Full extension of the hips and shoulders, also if you don't use horizontal placement and do not pivot on the rear foot then the punch will go over your opponents head,if you push up on the back rear heal without horizontal placement then you'll be caught reaching in after you punch.

Right! But by putting the front foot forward or horizontal placement wouldn't the ear be in front of the Coccyx?yes originally the two were parallel had being the ear and coccyx...
