Manny v Floyd is "Bullshit" and not gonna happen says Ariza (Video)

Just watched this video , obviously not a Bob Arum fan but a lot of what he says adds up especially the bits about Arum stopping his fighters fighting.

Anyone agree with Ariza?

Floyd Mayweather has insisted that Manny Pacquiao has no say in negotiations and has been lying while he blamed Bob Arum for the inability to reach a deal.

Pacquiao confirmed in an interview with ESPN The Magazine on Tuesday that he had agreed to a 60-40 purse split in favour of his opponent while he also signed off on the drug-testing plan, venue and date.


As a result, from his perspective he is now waiting for Mayweather to sign the contract and officially confirm that the fight is on for May 2.

However, according to Mayweather it isn’t that simple as he has insisted that Pacquiao is not the boss of his own promotional company and so he has “no say so” in negotiations or what he can agree to.

Mayweather was speaking on DJ Whoo Kid’s “The Whoolywood Shuffle” show to clear up the rumours as he also revealed that while they are in negotiations, a deal is not close.

“Everything that everybody is just insinuating, what everybody been saying on TV is false. It’s not true at all…Once again, I’ve been saying this for the longest, Pacquiao has no say so because Pacquiao fights under Top Rank Promotions. I have Mayweather Promotions. Mayweather Promotions is my company, so Pacquiao, he’s not in a position to call any shots as of right now and he’s not the A-side, so everything that everybody has been hearing has been rumors. Do I want to fight Pacquiao? Absolutely! Are we negotiating? Absolutely! But has the fight been made? Not at all,” he said.

“Hopefully it’s Mayweather-Pacquiao [on May 2]. Of course we’re trying to make the fight happen between me and Pacquiao. Are we negotiating? Absolutely we are negotiating. Pacquiao said that he agreed to everything. What did you agree to? You have no say so. You have a boss. That’s called Top Rank Promotions. That’s not called Pacquiao Promotions. With my company, it’s called Mayweather Promotions,” Mayweather explained.

“We have been going back and forth, communicating with their team. Hopefully we can make this fight happen. But once again, we have to look at his pay-per-view numbers. His last fight didn’t even do 300,000 homes. So let’s make this make sense. I mean, he did get knocked out not too long ago. No matter what you say, Floyd Mayweather is still winning. When they take shots at Floyd Mayweather, he’s still winning. He’s still making hundreds of millions.”

Mayweather added, “We’re trying, but it’s been extremely difficult dealing with Top Rank. I don’t want to sit right here and point the finger at Pacquiao and say it’s him, because it’s not Pacquiao. It’s his promoter. So a lot of times when Pacquiao say, ‘Oh, I agree.’ You don’t have nothing to do with this. You’re not a boss. On the chess board, you’re a pawn.”

I started worrying right when Bob said "as far as our side is concerned it's done, now we wait on movement from Mayweather". Movement? That to me sounds like they signed a contract that hadn't been agreed to or else why would Floyd have to move? And beyond that why are there deadlines before HBO and Showtime have even agreed? There can be no fight unless HBO and Showtime agree so Floyd would have to be an idiot to agree before they agree because then you have an established worth which limits your earning potential in negotiations. Also why say negotiating in the media is bad then talk about every single aspect in the media from split to gloves to testing? It all seems like a way to spoil a fight while shifting blame. But fingers crossed it gets done.

Ariza makes a lot of good points, Bob Arum is a known cheat and liar and he should be asked to prove every statement he makes.

Hasn't Arum got some Mega $$$ deal in place in China, i reckon he might want to take it there as part of his side of the bargain.

A loss agsinst Mayweather would have a much worse effect than that KO by JMM or getting robbed against Bradley; he's still Pacquiao.

With Mayweather, it's his nemesis we're talking about and perhaps Arum doesn't want the fight to happen for that reason: it would burst what's left of the bubble, meaning less money for Arum in future fights, giving Floyd even more star-power, etc.

Arum would have to open his accounting to the scrutiny of others. He can't afford to let the world and especially his fighters know how he screws them over.

The guy who runs CBS (which owns Showtime) is according to press reports handling the Floyd side of the negotiations, or at least overseeing them. Arum is handling the Manny side. Moonves, the CBS guy supposedly got involved because he thinks there's too muchleeway for Floyd to dodge the fight due to Espinoza's (Showtime boxing boss) close relationship with Haymon. Moonves has apparently told Espinoza that if he doesn't get the fight made he's fired and has told Haymon if the fight doesn't get made then Showtime does no more business with him other than the two Floyd fights they have contractually agreed to.

I'm hoping that this is accurate but I'm not holding my breath anymore. With Alvarez Cotto falling through it's looking like Floyd-Cotto, Manny-maybe Khan. If that does happen I hope Haymon does get blown out by Showtime and both Showtime and HBO hold the line against him till he implodes.

I've watched that 3 times, damn interesting stuff.

What about the contract with the Venetian? Would Bob have to reimburse the Venetian if he brought Manny to MGM? Let's see if he shows the contract Manny supposedly signed like Shaeffer did. How can he sign a contract if negotiating is still happening?What about the non-disclosure? He tears the lies apart over and over.

People behind the scenes at both HBO and Showtime are saying Bob is in the way, history says Bob is in the way. Even Mannys manager says Bob is in the way. Produce the damn contract, that's easy enough.

On one hand, he's just a conditioning coach. BUT...

He's dropping science bombs..Arum took 100 plus million and owes it? He claimed Arum put out the needle gate? And Pac allowed it?

If so, really sad for pac. Pac could end up fighting long after his prime if he doesnt have a handle at least on the purse(s) he's made.

Ariza is a strength and conditioning coach who thinks he's a lawyer/accountant. The fighters themselves aren't privy to any of the business going on around them so what makes this cunt think he does.
