Rumors are he might be heading to a showdown against Lara, IMO it's a bad move stylistically for Cotto, but well why give Canelo the shot when Lara outboxed the shit out of Alvarez handing him what should have been his second loss, big props for always going for the best opposition if true

Agreed, Not that Saul isn't a good boxer but he continues to be groomed for the next big thing. The judges are way to overboard with his scores going back to the Trout fight and probably before. Cotto is in no way a ducker. I can't think of anyone he's ducked, maybe you guys know his history better than me. Maybe that's one reason why he can't be bothered with Saul. Just guessing on that of course. I personally would like to see them fight but he would need to fight him as far away from the Mexican border he can get. I hope he didn't have another Floyd fight but Roach would like to see that happen. I wouldn't mind a Lara fight, Cotto has to make a move though as he is having a resurgence and he needs to take advantage of it as father time is marching on.

Did he hire Marquez's old steering committee? He could have really cashed out on that title/Alvarez.

Now he might as well drop the thing. If it somehow makes it to the table at 155.2 either guy is faced with meeting you know who. Just vacate the title and end the mockery of one of the most prestigious weight classes in boxing. Neither one has ant intentions of fighting the Kazak anyway.

He wad guaranteed 15 million for Alvarez, and it was a huge fight. He is never going to get anything near that from Haymon and Nbc for what is another Austin Trout fight.

I always hear about how historic MW is but when was it so good? Every era I think of that division is lacking depth unless you count all 3 divisions together.

Cotto Alvarez seems to make sense to me also.

I don't get this notion that Canelo is being handled with kid gloves, 3 out of 4 of his last fights were against some of the slickest guys in the sport (2 southpaws).

After facing a lineup of bums for 30+ fights, all without leaving the comforts of home, it's only natural that public pressure would force him to step up his level of competition a bit. This all became painfully apparent when Floyd threw his no-hit, no-run, no-error perfect game at Canelo, and still ended up inexplicably with a majority decision win (Sulaiman money safely nestled in C.J. Ross' purse).

Cotto should not be fighting Lara. Is he being a diva and not getting it on with GGG, Quillin, Lee at middleweight? Saul is the best light middle and Floyd p4p would be better options.

I also have heard that Cotto is considering Bradley or Rios.

But, frankly, Cotto should relinquish the middleweight titles either way because he's not a middleweight, and he has no plans of facing another middleweight.

He's lost the plot. He's one of my favourites but he's starting to act like a tool and its clear he has no business sense and is surrounded by yes men. Funny, not one peep from Arum. I just cant see how Haymon could have offered him anything better. He had at least 15 million in the bank for Alvarez and a way to slip out of the middleweight division if he wanted to.

Does Cotto actually believe that him and Lara can carry a successful ppv to the tune of paying him more then 15 million and 4 or 5 to Lara? I'm sure the plan is to launch some kind of service through Nbc.

Of all the fighters who have ever lived, fought, punched, and taken punches ....... I can't think of many others who would fight anyone, any place, any time. Cotto is certainly not a middleweight - and hasn't he done well to win a title against a proper fighter - but this guy hadn't ducked anyone in his life. I think he is a proper fighter

You think Quillin would fight Cotto? I doubt it.
