You can already see it now from his rumblings. Regardless of how much money he has made, it is absolutely KILLING him that his shine is fading. He assumed boxing would take a big hit after his departure.
I've said it before, but the "Fight Floyd Sweepstakes" but the progression of boxing (at least a chunk of it) at a stalemate for quite some time. It also had a domino/filtering effect on other fighters who had hopes of fighting other top guys.
It's only gonna get worse for Floyd, especially as more fighters and big fights get more exposure as we are witnessin now. He will come back to "prove he still the king" and get outlasted against a younger, faster fighter......unless he goes out of his way to select an opponent whom he is aware that he has many advantages against, even at his advanced age.

I doubt he had any intention on retiring with a Berto fight. That should have been a signal for everyone that he'd be back for 50. One could almost swear that the WBC and Alvarez are in on it. After Khan, Floyd will look legit to some fans for Alvarez at middleweight. I got a kick out of Froch trying to keep Khans hopes up yesterday. Imagine if he pulls it out. Floyd vs Khan for the Ring/Wbc/Lineal middleweight championship.
I'm convinced it does not matter who it is. Floyd would make 100 million fighting my next door neighbour and then laugh all the way to the bank with his super fans falling in line claiming more proof as to his historic legacy with no mention of snake-oil or salesman.

He actually really wants to attempt to equal Leonard at his core and he stays retired (perhaps not 3 years) and announces his return next year at this time to face Golovkin after talking for another year.

Firstly, I am amazed that Master hasn't given this thread or post a "Like" yet. secondly, the longer Floyd stays out of the ring, the less chance there is of him coming back.
Over the last few years, we've seen Floyd take less and less risks, and now we are meant to believe that he's going to change all that and take a massive risk.
let's be honest , Floyd will only come back for Mega Bucks and the only fight he's gonna get mega bucks for is GGG! and we know that won't happen.
The TV people will be negotiating afresh, and they'll only be interested in one fight - GGG!
Floyd Knows that the very fact that people mention this figtht is proof that he is an ATG, because nobody anywhere near his weight class can (or could) touch him.
for the record , and it will never happen, but if Floyd fought GGG at 154, Floyd would win in the same manner as he won his last half dozen fights.

Floyd has a dilemma.
Firstly he was vastly overpaid for his last deal. The TV idiot that negotiated the deal needs shooting and no one will offer him the same amount of money.
secondly, Floyd fights negative and very boring who no one really wants to watch. Floyd needs a serious challenge and that is only triple G which he has already said is too big for him.
Thirdly Floyd's pride will not allow him to fight for a small purse so he may actually not make a comeback because he has such a huge ego and small man syndrome.
In short Floyd is a boring cunt who was lucky to get the money he did against the poor challenges he faced.

All he has to do is just stay quiet in retirement and ride along. Its best that he stay away from saying things like "Golovkin would be easy work if not for the weight" in the boxing press or "I could stop this fight with one phone call" referring to Alvarez/Khan.

Floyd and SRL what ifs. Floyd and GGG what ifs, You Floyd fans are this and that,You Floyd haters cant be real boxing fans etc,all keep coming up in all the boxing Facebook pages and Youtube comments too. Some fans will always love to wave their flags take sides and fire shots.
I dont like the guy personally but his skills are undeniable.

Floyd's ability to make more money than previous P4P RJJ in his prime surprises me.
Pernell another P4P great didn't do PPV numbers like Floyd either who was a superbly skilled fighter.
Ray Leonard is a different story in that he could punch well with lightening fast combinations.
I'm leaning on Floyd staying retired. Unlike the last 5-100 fighters who claimed retirement...they didn't have a stable of young fighters to keep them occupied like Floyd does.

He seems real comfortable thus far and of course all anyone lucky enough to get an interview asks is "when are you coming back" almost immediately. At first I took it as a given that he was coming back and then I thought that although he seems like the guy that would because of ego he may also never return because of the same thing. His ego couldn't take a loss to a guy he may have toyed with in his prime. His safety first foundation has as much to do with his decision here as it did with his fighting style. Where as Leonard and Roy were fighters first and believed their prime never left them. Now I'm back to thinking that leaving on the back of Berto and that magic 50 and 0 is cause for thinking he may come back should an opportunity present itself. I'm thinking the winner of Khan/Alvarez may be that trigger.

If I had to bet I'd say he will come back for at least one more fight, I don't think there's any way he fights Golovkin or even anyone dangerous above 147 unless it's the Canelo-Khan winner:rolleyes:. Thing is, assuming he picks a welterweight, he'd still have to be a heavy favourite to beat anyone imo.
