Pokemon Go!

well it seems to have taken over the world.

Everyone was talking about it at work yesterday so I downloaded it, now I have never watched or played Pokemon in my life so I didn't have a clue what to expect.

Anyways I downloaded the app and sitting on a girls desk (when looking through my phones camera screen) there was a little blue turtle (I have since found out it is a Squirtle) I threw this little ball at it and captured it.

apparently as you walk around these things are everywhere, and there are key spots where you get shit and make them fight each other.

My sister downloaded it and said she had been walking for miles and had only caught two, I decided to fire up the app again when I got home (my flat seems to be a bit of a hotspot for them, I've caught about 30 of the little fuckers now) apparently it goes by the popularity of an area as to how many creatures you find there (I live on the high street so that makes sense that I have found so many)

anyway, this app has caused a stir because people have injured themselves because they are not watching where they are going when they are playing it, people are using the hotspots to lure people so they can mug them, people have been wondering into churches and police stations trying to find a pikachu and one dude actually found a dead body when trying to find a water pokemon or something like that.

Well I thought that seeings how the app has literally taken the world over it deserved its own thread here, I've had a look at it but it aint for me so it'll be deleted later on today I reckon.

I had a look at it in the comfort of my own home but I have seen shit loads of people my age (30's) walking around town playing it, crazy it is, I would be embarrased to start playing games and running around catching monsters in public.

Can confirm, yes, there are people in their 30's that have been completely sucked into that game....how? I don't rightly know. I mean I still will get on the old PS3 and play FIFA or NHL or even Red Dead Redemption or The Godfather, but that's IN MY HOUSE....not out in public where instead of that kind of stuff I ooooh I don't know interact with other people face to face, it's a mind blowing concept.

I still stick call of duty or fight night on every now and again but thats completely acceptable, I'm 31, you gotta remember I was part of the first generation of console babies, I grew up with the mega drive and then playstation, I dunno it is just something that I will never completely grow out of.

If I had a spare 300 quid knocking around I don't doubt that I would spunk the lot on a PS4, its not a priority these days but I still enjoy it, grown men walking around twatting about on a smart phone is just something I struggle to get on board with though

Watched a co teacher in his ps3 in Malaysia playing grand theft auto. Mehhh....it looked OK. But not for me.

tss i play it though, but just secretly, its nice going out, catch pokemon, we have to catch them all POKEMON, Its good fun, real life maps, and its not like a normal game where you can sit still, you have to go out and move yoo ass. i recon it's good fun, play it with a few mates and we have a competition between us.

but some people are taking it too far though!
