Yep it's an empty weekend as far as network action and this has all the appeal of a watching a bad car accident. Margarito looked like a worn out rusted punching bag vs Paez Jr and wouldn't be surprised to see Canelos older brother 23-4-2 Ramon Alvarez put the inevitable end on this tired comeback story. Not a bad scrap really. Margarito looks to have it. Boxed smart and stayed composed but no where near volume. talk of him deep at 154 is cruel. Scores split 95-94 Alvarez..97-92 Maragrito..97-92 Maragrito.
One judge was smoking up. Clearly.
I'd like to see the cheat destroyed by a top 154 guy.
Margarito started slow but really dominated from the 5th round onward. Lost the 9th but won the 10th.
Looked good for a 38 year old welterweight fighting at 154.
He could quite possibly beat Kirkland or Angulo.
Canelo, Charlos, Lara all destroy him I'd say.
