Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
It's been a while since one of these two weren't the best welters. Mayweather is retired (maybe not according to Master) and pac looked less than stellar. Pac is still relatively really good but I don't think he looks like the best in his weight class anymore. Here's how I think he matches up with other Welters.
Garcia- I think pac can still beat Garcia but Garcia may be able to catch him a few times because pac just doesn't have the speed he used to. I think Garcia would rock him once or twice but still lose
Thurman- Thurman doesn't have a great chin and is open to get hit a lot but I think his strength and athleticism at this point are too much for pac and he would make pac go into a shell after getting hit a few times
Porter- Porter I think wins this with his strength. I think that he is just too strong for pac and this point of his career and would push him to the ropes.
Brook- I think Brook would just be a way better version of Vargas. He would actually use his jab and would throw that right hand more effectively.
Crawford- Crawford wrecks pac I think. I think it's a KO. He is way too fast and accurate. I think a prime pac has problems with Crawford because of styles but this version of pac gets beat easily.
Spence- call me crazy but I think Spence wins this. The only reason i think he doesn't is because of lack of experience in a big fight. That would be a huge fight for Spence to get to become a superstar.
So really, I think pac loses to just about every top welter. It wouldn't surprise me for him to beat any of these guys (except Crawford) but I don't think he beats them all.
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
Not sure about Thurman and Porter beating him, especially Porter.
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
Garcia is not that good at the weight and I would give Manny a shot at that.
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
Lol, im actually surprised you guys think Pac has a chance to beat this guys at this stage of Pac's career. Maybe Im just underestimating my idol. 3 things working against my idol:
1. Natural size: Pac at 148 lbs fight night weight is practically a blown up lightweight, junior ww at best.
2. Age: 38 for a fighter relying on speed, outside of his natural weightclass makes it even worse.
3. Part time fighter: the guy is preoccupied, Senator, ball player etc...
I wish Pac just retires, i dont want him to get hurt. :(
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
Interesting topic. My picks:
1. Pac beats Garcia, who is a fundamentally sound boxer but not athletic enough or fast enough to deal with Manny's speed.
2. Manny decisions Thurman, who is a bit overrated in my opinion and won't be able to handle Manny's speed, angles, and experience.
3. Mostly agree with you on Porter being a bad style match up for Manny. Think this fight is 50/50 and depends on how Porter handles Manny's speed and power. Can see Porter manhandling the smaller man, but also see the potential for Shawn to walk into a big shot he doesn't see (like Hatton did).
4. Not sure Kell Brook will ever make 147 again, and think he might be too drained to be effective if he does. If they fight at 154 I think Kell wins it. At 147, think Kell will be less effective and be out hustled by Manny.
5. Think Crawford beats Manny at this point but still interested to see what happens when he catches a solid shot on the jaw. Gamboa gave him hell for 6 rounds and that gives me a suspicion that Crawford may not be as great as I think (hope) he is.
6. Think Spence is Manny's worst style match up and think he has a great shot to win. Experience at the elite level hurts him, but Spence's speed and athleticism are off the charts and that will likely bother Manny at this point (when combined with his size advantage).

I'm merely showing that Me & @Paul Kevin are as one! ;D
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
Not sure why anyone would call you crazy for picking Spence? He and Crawford are the two guys I'd give Manny the least chance against out of that lot. He hasn't got the elite experience because he's coming into his prime, wheras Pac is clearly past it. Use your eyes, this type of match up goes the same way 95% of the time in boxing.
Re: Finally Mayweather or Pac aren't the best welterweight
I love seeing flashes of a great and he did a number on carefully selected Vargas, but I'm not even close to saying this means he's back in the mix. Frankly I think both Crawford and Spence are just too much physically, arsenal wise and motivation wise. There is little chance he will even cross the same street let alone ring that Garcia, Thurman or Brook do. Arum and you can bet the house on it, will maneuver this 'return to glory' into the biggest irrelevant rematch...Mayweather didn't just pop in to sit behind announce team the other night..that he can. Or maybe he'll choose Manny as Crawfords long overdue 147 debut and ensure the bankroll either way.
Lets be honest. This welter division doesn't need a Money or a Manny with the depth that it has. Hope some of these supposed young guns resent the divas hanging around and possibly wanting to do something about it!

how can you say that from my point they are best
