Marco Huck-Mairis Briedis - WBC Cruiser Title/BoxNation/Sat.
The only notable fight of the weekend should be a cracker.
Briedis (21-0, 18 KOs) - a Latvian that's not a pot belly hod carrier - is a proper sparko merchant. The only geezer to take him 12 rounds is Ismail Abdoul, who is awkward/granite (back in the day Haye, Enzo Mac, Adamek among many others couldn't put a dent in him) - he's sent good heavyweights to kip. He boxes in a neat and tidy orthodox style behind a good, consistent jab.
Huck (40-3-1, 27 KOs) is only 32 - same age as Briedis - but been around at the top level since the boer war. He's never in a dull fight, is hard-as-nails with the crudest spurt-stop-spurt-breathe style ever, which is highly effective for him.
This can't fail to be a good punch-up. Up-and-downer? Spectacular KO? 12 rounds of action? It's all good.
The fresher Briedis (4/7) is a narrow-ish favourite. 13/10 KO, 3/1 PTS. Huck is 13/8 for the win, 6/1 KO, 3/1 PTS. 25/1 Draw. Fight to not go distance - Evens.
Breidis KO 13/10

The Huck is brilliant to watch and Briedis has an 86% KO ratio so fireworks for sure.
He's a bit of a Boxnation favourite is the Huck

This does sound like a good matchup.

THE WBC WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE
On April 1st, Marco Huck faces dangerous Cruiserweight Mairis Briedis for the WBC World Title at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany, live on BoxNation.
The governing body originally ordered this bout between their first and second-ranked fighters for the Interim Title, but now the biggest prize is on the line pitting an experienced, former World ruler against a heavy-handed operator.
Tony Bellew was the previous holder of the belt, but after his Heavyweight contest with David Haye it seems unlikely he'll return to the division and he has now been appointed 'Champion Emeritus'.
Huck (40-3-1, 27 KOs) was at the top of the division for seven years until he was stopped by Krzysztof Glowacki in August 2015, falling one fight short of ending the record of consecutive Cruiserweight Title defences set by Johnny Nelson.
In his last outing, the Serbian-born boxer outpointed European Champion Dmytro Kucher to propel himself back towards the upper end of the division, and land a fight with Briedis.
Briedis (21-0, 18 KOs) has demonstrated serious power by earning seven straight knockouts, including his win over Manuel Charr at Heavyweight where we gave up over thirty pounds in weight.
Fighting in Huck’s adopted home country will not faze Briedis, who in the last three years has competed on cards in Germany, Russia, USA and Great Britain.
The experienced Huck has the chance to hand his Latvian opponent the first professional defeat of his career, but Briedis will be aiming to prove he’s no April fool on April 1st.
Should Bellew return from his stint at Heavyweight, he will be in line to face this winner of this cracking Cruiserweight collision.

Marco Huck v Mairis Briedis
Re: Marco Huck-Mairis Briedis - WBC Cruiser Title/BoxNation/Sat.
German undercards are always shocking. We've become so spoilt in this country that we moan about the undercard quality even though we get 4 hour shows/6-7 fights for every Hearn and Warren live card.
Re: Marco Huck-Mairis Briedis - WBC Cruiser Title/BoxNation/Sat.
German fans seem very retrained and uptight when they watch boxing matches. The atmosphere sounds like as exciting as a library.
Re: Marco Huck-Mairis Briedis - WBC Cruiser Title/BoxNation/Sat.
I can only see this being a good fight. Both guys styles would suggest that they will mesh well and give us a fun filled fight. I'm slightly siding with Breidis as Hicks chin may let him down again.

Just switched it on, I'm guessing I've not missed anything so far then
Re: Marco Huck-Mairis Briedis - WBC Cruiser Title/BoxNation/Sat.
Christina Hammer (above) has just finished she won by a landslide points decision in a bit of a boring fight.
Nothing really exciting so far so needs at least one decent undercard fight.

whats this geezer doing? I've not really been watching but I just looked up at the telly and saw some of the worst showboating that I have seen in a ring for a good long time

I have it on in the background don't really know what that is all about. Don't even know why I am waiting for Huck either, always thought his style was a bit like throwing sand in your own eyes.
