Jamie McDonnell is siding towards Stuart Hall to gain revenge over bantamweight rival Paul Butler.
The pair met three years ago with Hall losing his IBF world title on a split decision, and they meet again at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.
WBA world champion McDonnell was in discussions to take on Butler himself earlier this year, but with 'Stuey' - who he beat back in 2011 - finally getting the chance to redress the balance, he is giving Hall the edge.
"This is a funny one because when we were trying to nail down the Butler fight, Stuey was with us, training with my brother, Gavin," McDonnell told Sky Sports.
"He was wishing me well for the Butler fight but in the space of a week, it swung to me wishing him well on fighting him!
"I don't think there's much in it to be fair, but I just think Stuey wants it more and if he takes it to Butler he could force a good points win.
"It's a tasty little fight, that's for sure."

McDonnell will be ringside on Saturday night, taking a break from camp as he is set for a rematch of his own.
Britain's longest-standing world champion takes on Liborio Solis, in Monaco, on November 4, almost a year since he beat the Venezuelan on a controversial points win.

This will be another close fight. I think Hall may squeak by. 118 has some very nice potential match ups.
Re: Paul Butler v Stuart Hall Sky Sports 30th September 2017
I always enjoy watching Rocky Fielding fight, he's one of them that I have unknowingly followed, a bit like Bradley Skeete, I don't think I've ever missed a single one of their televised fights, not because I'm a massive fan but just because I always seem to be watching when they are on.
I was actually thinking about Fowler the other day as well, I didn't realize he was on this card, he's Robbie's nephew or cousin or something isn't he, I remember watching him and if I remember correctly he looked good if a little raw but he came across as an absolute cockwomble after the fight...am I right in thinking that? or am I thinking of someone else?

Is this fight an eliminator? Or for the 1 or 2 positions? Sounds like McDonnell was trying to avoid Solis.
Re: Paul Butler v Stuart Hall Sky Sports 30th September 2017
McDonnell is re-matching Solis in Monaco in November, got announced this week.
Butler moved up to steal Hall's title last time but was clearly the much smaller man, immediately binned it and moved back down (which seemed a liberty to me but that's boxing). Being a few years older he should be more comfortable at the weight this time, plus is now with Matchroom and Joe Gallagher. Hall is a big strong fella for the weight but doesn't have a clump and anyone that doesn't stand in front of him gives him problems. Butler PTS (8/11)
Brophy to upset Fielding (5/2) - Since getting blitzed by C.Smith Rocky's been "lucky" to get decisions over Rebrasse and Ryder. Brophy just pulled off an upset in Oz, against an unbeaten fella that had some solid wins on his record, with his only defeat coming against Groves.
Ohara Davies KO (8/11) rds 1-3 (6/1) - even in defeat last time, to top prospect Josh Taylor, Davies looked above standard British level.
Stalker to upset Dodd (6/4) - should be close-ish on the cards whatever way it goes.
8/11
5/2
8/11
6/4
25/1 acca (roughly).

Anybody else watching? I'm not exactly thrilled by the card but I've got it on in the background, I'm not too fussed about missing some of the fights but as usual it beats the X factor or strictly I'm a celebrity come dance with me on ice, or whatever is the latest reality TV show
Re: Paul Butler v Stuart Hall Sky Sports 30th September 2017
Just watched the end of the Fowler fight
