OSCAR - MAYORGA ; Who Will Win ?

I'm not a Mayorga fan. He's loud, abrasive and somewhat limited in his
ability. He is not nearly as polished as Oscar. Part of me wants to see De
La Hoya give Mayorga a beating worse then Tito did. One thing Mayorga can do
is punch. He is also strong and has an awkward, wild swinging style. For a
controlled boxer like Oscar, Mayorga's unpredictability could cause him some
problems. The other part of me would like to see Oscar get flattened and
wipe that arrogant, smug smile off his face. De La Hoya looks very focused
for this fight. He also envisions a few more mega paydays if he wins. Plus I
really think that he strongly dislikes Mayorga. I've got to go with Oscar
but it could be interesting. I am really looking forward to this one.

You have to remember, Tito hits alot harder than most people. Oscar hits hard, but not like Tito. Oscar can win this fight easy IMO, if he boxes and goes to the body{I think the biggest factor in the fight}, and wears Mayorga down. If he tries to slud with Mayorga like Tito did, he'll get caught.

I picked Mayorga to beat Trinidad because I thought that Tito's long layoff of well over 2 years would leave him rusty and with a deteriorated sense of danger and I thought that Mayorga's great chin would hold up under Trinidad's attack. I was dead wrong about that fight, and I won't make the same mistake twice. Mayorga is not a skilled boxer and his overall technique is suspect. He's also got a serious machismo attitude about being able to withstand punishment in the ring, which is a very foolish attitude to have in boxing. He's very strong but strength alone is more for wrestling than boxing.

De La Hoya will box him silly and knock him out in the later rounds similar to what Trinidad did. Mayorga might not win a round.

Mayorga by stoppage wait and see. Mayorga is hungry and his back is against the wall. Oscar hasn't won a fight in over 2 years and has nothing left to prove. He's going down.

the golden boy either by shut out or by late TKO, Mayorga didn't look all that hot in his last fight and his shots didn't look all that devastating, his boxing ability is a joke and he'll get picked apart very much like Mayweather did Gatti

I would be shocked if Mayorga even made this one a good fight.. His only chance is to land something huge early, but DLH has never been caught like that and hurt... And who is MAyorga compared to endless fighters that he has already beaten. Rusty or not, hungry or not, DLH simply posseses too much skill for Mayorga, and he is just as big as him with longer reach and arguably as much power at the weight. I dont think Mayorga has a chance to win 1 round.

because Mayorga is a worthy opponent but stye wise a semi safe bet for oscar
