Wilder at cruiserweight??
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2018/05...o-unify-belts/
So Wilder wants to beat Joshua to get all the heavyweight belts..... then go down to cruiserweight and get all those belts.
Thoughts?
First he would have to get past Joshua. But if he did and moved down to cruiserweight, he'd ruin himself. At least he'd be done as a legitimate heavyweight.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
Wilder has either been hit on the head too hard and he is starting jermaine Taylor like mad ramblings or he interacted with Charlie zelenoff for too long.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
What would be the point? I don't get it. Sounds to me like someone thinking of a plan B should plan A go wrong.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
At the rate it's going to get he and AJ in the ring he'll be pushing 40 ;D. Really though not good focus by him. Stick to leg-day and add some weight if anything.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
That would be cool if he could get down there, but he is so skinny already and would have to lose 20 pounds. It’s possible I guess, but I think he would be so extremely weight drained that he would be awful.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
It would be impossible for Wilder to get down to cruiserweight and be competative. He would be a walking corpse. What will it prove?
Wilder should stop talking rubbish and concentrate on a unification against AJ.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
I don't see it happening.
I doubt he could make the weight and have anything left to be competitive, but if someone waived a magic wand and he did, thinking of him among the Cruisers is interesting. His power always makes him dangerous. I think the top 3 cruisers would probably beat him.

One word. AMBITIOUS. But to be fair, Wilder has consistently proved he's the biggest Shit talker in town . I'm past listening to all these cabbages, they all talk shite!
But if he beat AJ, Unified the division, went down to CW and cleaned that up, That would be a serious piece of History to be fair to him . The same as if I Fucked Michelle Keegan , Beyoncé and Penelope Cruz all in the same night! can't see that happening either!;D;D;D
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
Wilder's a shit-talker alright. He gives Fury and Haye a run for their money. He needs to shut up and concentrate on trying to get that fight with AJ and worry about the future after he's done with that. Despite the bluster on both sides, they (Wilder and AJ) both know the other has at least a puncher's chance. I agree with those who say Wilder would be too weight-drained at cruiser. It's not like he's got the extra fat to lose. Worst case he'd lose a bit of muscle mass in his legs and he'd look like Bambi out there. God knows he doesn't have the swiftest footwork even now.... so to lose leg strength doesn't sound like a good career move.

I agree with the 'punchers chance' comment, but from videos I've seen of Wilder I believe he is terminally fucking useless, hence all the hesitation from Euro promoters, they know the first one in with him is going to spark him, but how do they make a duopoly or trilogy out of it? Its all about the money.

But a Skeletor Loser
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
Remember when Chris Byrd melted down to Lt heavyweight and had the sturdiness of a Walmart bag blowing around the parking lot? Of course he was off a long and successful heavyweight career though.

Byrd overachieved at heavyweight and I am sure he would prefer to have been champion at the weight than at Cruiserweight.
Re: Wilder at cruiserweight??
I used to watch Byrd fights as a cure for insomnia.

Michael Moorer was mines. I know he was exciting at light heavyweight and had that exciting fight with Cooper but the lack of effort he put in most of his fights put me to sleep.
