Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!! The TRUEST Welterweight Floyd has yet to meet. By the way, Hatton is not yet a TRUE Welterweight.
We give promoters, HBO, and the dirty boxing businessmen HELL for sh*ting on fighters all the time. But it's YOU the fans who give this kid so much crap about technical skills, "who has he fought," and "He has four losses."
I really can't believe it. You fight fans are the ones who would rather have Mayweather fight Oscar "Olden boy" de la Hoya, than a young PRIME true Welterweight.
Lets face it, this isn't 1999 Oscar "Golden Boy" de la Hoya. The one who entered the ring with Hall-of-Famer, in his Prime, Felix Trinidad. That was what? SIX years ago? S-I-X years ago! Let it go!!! He's old. Hasn't won decisively in THREE YEARS, and that was against an old Yory Boy Campas.
So cry all you want about how Margarito can't cut-off the ring, can't jab, is to fat on his punches, no stamina...
BUT YOU HAVE TO LET THE BOY PROVE HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let these Old Men, like de la Hoya pass. They had their time, just as Zab had his MULTIPLE CHANCES.
SO LET THE TIME OF THE NEW YOUNG GUNS GO AT IT!!!!
And stop pooping on Margarito, because if you poop on him, your dumping on fights that SHOULD HAPPEN! This new generation has to fight each other.
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
A Mosley fight is just the same. Lets face it, he hasn't looked like "SUGAR" since Adrian Stone. :D Was so long ago (2001), I had to google that name! ;D
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
Why can't Margarito have fought Collazo, or Baldomir or Gatti?

Collazo is with Don King. And that's something nobody can control, with Bobby Arum and Donny King acting like school girl rivals all the time. :D
While Baldomir and Gatti are squaring it off right now. The Journeyman Baldomir, just entered the building of boxing spotlight. Gatti, just entered to fight a Welterweight Championship that is actually "winnable." And Baldomir had his pick of choices of opponents and don't you think that he made the RIGHT choice as to the biggest pay day fight that is "winnable" from his perspective too? :detective:
But say Mayweather doesn't fight Antonio. Tony has to play the waiting game or he'll get lucky and fight faded Gatti (That's if he doesn't retire, which has has made clear, IS SOON.) or journeyman Baldomir. Say they end up fighting Margarito, Tony will beat the hell from them. :D As for Collazo, lets see if he can even get past Ricky Hatton. While Hatton will be kept away from Margarito, to build himself up here in the states, to hope for a big fight with Mayweather.
The fight and money is there for Mayweather. The dotted line is waiting. The question is, why can't Mayweather fight Margarito?
Or should I say...
Let no man forget how menacing we are, we are lions! Do you know what's waiting beyond those ropes? Immortality! Take it! It's yours!
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
yep,you knew it was coming....CC Gyrokai. I don't think anyone has responded becaude no-one knows what to say. It is the same lame ass"he has 4 losses,no technical skills etc etc blah blah" He may lack technically but more than makes up for it with sheer heart and determination, something which very few fighters have nowadays.
Baldomir won't fight Tony,he sparred with him a while ago and said that he was powerful and OPENLY said he would not fight him. I posted the article myself.

Yeah. I didn't read that article. Maybe you can give me a link if you have the time.
The only reason I wrote that right now, is because many want an Oscar fight, recently. That and all the disrespect from many MUCHO MUCHO posts I've been reading on Margarito.
Mayweather gets all the Welterweight praise for fighting Zab and Sharmba. Pshhh! That's pathetic. You and I know it.
I seriously think that this fight is not only important to Margarito's fame and fortune... but important for boxing in general.
Fights like this have to happen, for boxing to keep going strong. Because if fighters in their prime, exposure, and glory, never square off.... ... Well, Isn't that what boxing is about?
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!!!! :)
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
Bob Arum is doing what Don King did for Lamon Brewster.
Don had Andrew Golata fight Byrd and Ruiz and Golata gives good showings, so in goes Brewster and devastates him so Lamon looks spectacular.
Is Baldomir still a journeyman if he beats Gatti? Why is he still called a journeyman if he beat Judah?
Margarito has to be one of my top 10 favorite fighters though!! I would love to see him get his shot. Just not against the style of Mayweather. He would have a better chance against a style like Hattons. Have those two square off(if Hatton beats Collazo) and the winner of Hatton Margarito fights PBF.
I don't know about you.
But if Margarito fights Floyd and loses..we may never hear from him for a long while.
Personally.. I want to see him fight Hatton before he fights Floyd.
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
See,I see personally see the Margarito Floyd fight a win win situation for Tony,it will get him exposure, and you know he is going to fight for his life but win or lose,he will become more known and that's what Arum wants so it would be easier for rights to be made. Theorteically,Floyd should win but honestly,I'd go out on a limb and bet that Tony is going to take him to hell and back.
As for the Oscar fight, I don't see the attraction,Oscar is waaay past his prime and if he allows himself to be a stepping stone, I seriously will lose respect for him especially as he did not give Tony a chance! I hope Mayorga beats Oscar(but not too badly Gyrokai ;) and anyway Oscar seems more interested in fighting Tito,in his latest interviews that is all he talks about AND Arum would not allow it to happen either! So Floyd will just have to stop running!

If Ricky and Antonio go at it. I'd love to see that fight. Pretty damn good fight. ;D No arguments there. I understand where your coming from. But if Margarito loses, then he loses. He won't be forgotten that much. Mayweather beat Henry Brussels and he's rutinely on Telefutura now. Margarito may not be on HBO immediately after the fight. But it also can be those losses, where he actually gains from losing.
But Margarito's style is so entertaining, he'll get exposure plenty of time afterwards. And if he disappears from the center of the earth, hell if no one ever sees him ever again... he came up from NOTHING and made it this far, I think he'll be happy he made it this far. 15 years old, married, boxing professional.... it's a freagin' miracle he's made it this far. With boxing being as hard and dirty as it is, Margarito is a success story already. So lets complete the story, or maybe even begin the best chapter of the story, and get "pound-for-pound king" Floyd Mayweather to get in the ropes with Antonio "Bomber" Margarito.
By the way, check out what Box Rec has to say about the offer to Mayweather.
"Bob Arum, Promoter of both Antonio Margarito and Floyd Mayweather Jr., made an $8 million+ offer to Floyd for a fight against Margarito for the WBO title."

Bro,that was sooo cool! O0 That's one of the reasons I sooooo want Tony to succeed,he has put his whole life on hold for these big fights and I know I don't know him but he seems like a genuine down to earth type og a guy who gives his best and there are very few of them around anymore! I now more than ever want to see him win!!!!!

Dude, it's not a limb, it's a freakin' fight!!! ;D 8) :badass:
You and I know this. I think we are the only ones here CRAZY enough to realize this.
There are so many factors in this fight that it's WAAAAYYY more competitive than these guys have it. Hint: Size is one of them.
Dude, if Margarito wins it. :o hahahahaha These guys will jump off roofs, cause of their lack of belief and all that they know and hold true has all been destroyed. All that knowledge down the crapper, just because a pressure fighter actually beat a skilled boxer. It'll be like the Great Depression of Boxing!
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
Bro,I think that Saddo's will ahev to be closed as only you,I and a few others would be online!!! ;D and if he loses,no biggie as long as he performs well and at least knocks Floyd down! Or how about the fight is so close that there is a rematch?! If Margarito wins,I think all my boxing wishes would have come true and it would go some way to making me boxing happy again after seeing EM getting beaten up >:mad By the way, random thing, but did you know EM and Margarito once sparred when they were younger?!? I wonder who won! Merchant said it befoRe the SANTOS FIGHT!

There's two ways Mayweather can win:
1) He gets on his bicycle for 12 rounds.
2) He gets respect.
He gets on his bicycle, he'll stink out the joint, and people will "boo" him for not fighting.
He gets respect, now this is a longshot, because he doesn't have power in those fragile hands. Especially at this weight.
But he can combine 1) and 2) and put on a boxing clinic we've never seen since Pernell Whitaker, Muhammad Ali, or Sugar Ray Leonard. For him to win decively against Margarito, he's gonna have to look beautiful. I mean, who has the best defense pound-for-pound today? .................. Most hard core boxing fans will say the Winkster Winky Wright. ;) And even he takes hits every round. So does Mayweather. If Mayweather can dodge, block, parry, run, jab, combination, counter his way to the 12th round. He's gonna look amazing!
But Margarito is a freak of nature! To keep your composure on that type of fighter, is an amazing feat, a pound-for-pound feat. Anytime your in with a guy with unbreakable will, your in for a grueling fight. It doesn't matter how much skill you got, unless your superman! If Mayweather can pull this off, and win decisively, it's gonna look good.
There is also the 3rd option I didn't list, and that's to knock Margarito out. One thing can break will, and that's if you cold clock your opponent or stop him. David Estrada is a PERFECT example of that. When I was watching that fight with Cintron. I said to my buddy, "Dude, the only way to break Estrada's will is to knock him out." And that's what Cintron did. But in this case with Mayweather.... That just ain't gonna happen. ;D
He's NOT gonna get respect from Margarito. He's NOT going to run for 12 rounds. He's going to have to deal with bombs for 12 rounds. Unless he can appear and dissapear, he's gonna start to feel the pain.
You block a Margarito punch, he's still in your face. You parry, he's still there. You move, he's right in front of you. You jab him in the face, he keeps on his pressure. He keeps throwing combinations. You get to the point where your tired of looking at his face.
To keep that kind of fighter off of you, you have to make him respect you. And Mayweather can't crack at this weight. haha, I knew he couldn't knock out Judah, I KNEW IT! Say the riot got into it or whatever, Floyd couldn't do it.
People don't know about the size factor too. Which definitely favors the pressure fighter. Mayweather will look like a little boy compared to Margarito, I guarantee it! People don't even know! ;)
My point is, fighting Margarito is like fighting someone with five hands. At least two of those will land. To dodge all of them, is just NOT possible, unless Roger taught Floyd how him the teleportation. He can block him yes.... but was I the only one who saw how Floyd moved across the ring at blocked punches from Judah. ;D (Judah couldn't even stop Baldomir, barely stopped other lower class fighters.... and I guarantee that Margarito just mows through Baldomir!)
Man, people don't even know what's going to come, IF and when Mayweather Margarito happens. ;)

Wow, I wonder how I forgot about that tidbit of information. All he had to do was beat Barrera one time, to get a well deserved number 1 spot on pound-for-pound list. That's all he had to do! :) That's how close he was to total recognition. He's another one people p*ss on. They say he's too much of a warrior. But if he wasn't, he wouldn't have gotten that far.
So we were both Erik Morales fans also. Dude, were' going to have to be on opposite ends sometimes on arguments, or Saddo Boxing Peoples will start to wonder if we are one and the same! haha

Wrong. I'd be here. I'd applaude him to...just like I would have had punk ass Judah won...& trust me...I respect Margarito a whooooooooooooole lot more than I ever will Judah.
Look...I like Margarito...but I don't love him. I love Floyd Mayweather Jr. What can I say? I'm a fan of the man's...just like you girls are about Margarito.
Easy point to see.

Now here's where I do think that you are not seeing the other side of the arguement.
I agree, Margarito could win with his power & maybe MAYBE his inside game...but saying that that's the only two ways that he could win is about as naive (no offense) as saying that Floyd has two ways of winning.
Plain & simple...Mayweather is faster. Stronger doesn't always equal better. Castillo was an in the trenches fighter back when they fought & Floyd beat him...both times. Corrales...excuses or not...hardly laid a glove on Floyd & when he did...Floyd took it well. Gatti...another power hitter that really REALLY got the ass handed to him...he landed on Floyd.
Floyd just got to 147. I don't think he owns it...nor do I think that he will...& Margarito may be the man to bump Floyd down in weight...but again...I don't see it that way.
Floyd's defense frustrates fighters...to no end. Second to that, just only falling short, is his quickness. Anyone that thinks Floyd has no power...your'e wrong. It's not a one punch KO power...but his defense & quickness makes up for it.
If he's not there to be hit for the vast majority of the shots that Margarito throws...Toney aint gonna have the steam to throw that way all 12 rounds. He'll slow & as always...Floyd will come on.
It's not out of the question that Margarito knocks Floyd out...but it's not that likely either.
In the end...it'll be a great fight...but in the end...I'll be a Floyd fan & you'll both be Margarito fans...& I won't say I told you so...nor will I not praise Margarito on either outcome.
**But after he get's beaten...let's no go hunting the another suiter for the destruction of PBF.
Re: Margarito is here and it's YOU fight fans who Ignore him!!!
Wack,I respect more than most on the forum and I agree with what you are saying BUT I just want to see Tony given a shot, that's all. I f he loses, I know I won't hear the end of it but I KNOW, he will put in a good performance and there is no way it will be a Corrales beating because Chico must have had the lowest throwing totals I have ever seen!! Something was up and Castillo won the first,no doubt in my mind! I like Mayweather alot too,I'm not silly,he is an unnatural talent BUT I will SERIOUSLY lose respect for him if he turns this down! $8mill?!?
So we were both Erik Morales fans also. Dude, were' going to have to be on opposite ends sometimes on arguments, or Saddo Boxing Peoples will start to wonder if we are one and the same! haha
Haha,it's all good bro, great minds think alike!!
