GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2019/08...t-5-at-msg-ny/
"Golovkin and Derevyanchenko finalize deal for Oct.5 at MSG, NY"
In stark contrast to the drama and shenanigans surrounding every Ginger fight, it seems...... these two will now get it on.
At some point Ginger will wear out the Welcome Mat with boxing fans who by now should be fed up with everything surrounding his well-orchestrated career, and be ready to move on.
Looking forward to this one.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
Dude, every post doesn’t have to hate Canelo, we get it. This is a good fight. One that is happening because Derevyanchenko refused to fight Canelo and Canelo refused to fight GGG. Any rare occurrence where GGG fights a world class fighter should be cherished. Glad we are finally getting this one.
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
And we get your severe dislike for GGG. But tell me. Other than the fact that Golden Boy said so... what do you base it on to say Derevyanchenko didn't want to fight Ginger. Strictly money? You think maybe Dere is scared of Ginger?
And yes..... glad you're giving GGG a little credit here. Granted he got tunnel vision with this whole Ginger saga. But before that his career hadn't been too shabby. We're glad you finally approve.
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
I approve any time he fights someone decent. If it seems rare I approve then that’s on his opponent selection, not me.
It’s not an opinion that Derevyanchenko refused to fight Canelo or a judgement. It’s simply a statement of fact. It’s 88 degrees outside and Derevyanchenko refused to fight Canelo. His reasoning can be debated but that he refused multiple offers is simply stating what happened. It doesn’t even matter really, this is a good fight.
I’m not really sure what’s going on around here lately where people want to argue about facts. Facts are facts. You don’t argue about those, you argue about the debatable details surrounding those facts.
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
You said "Derevyanchenko refused to fight Canelo"
You're a big boy. We all know the connotations normally attached to statements like that. If you're simply stating it as a statement of fact, fine. Wanted to make sure you weren't implying any motives that weren't there.
Yes, this is a good fight.
Whether fact or opinion, it just seems to me that every time Canelo (I'll skip the Ginger moniker for now) is getting ready to set up a fight, there's always some kind of issue.
Meanwhile, this fight gets done without public fanfare and when it gets announced, the plans are already made. No mess.... no fuss.
With Ginger there's too much drama. And that's without going into past history.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
Golovkin's GGG promotions and Hearn's Matchroom Boxing announce link-up
Gennady Golovkin and Eddie Hearn have announced their companies will work together to promote future 'GGG' events.
The Kazakh's GGG Promotions and Hearn's Matchroom Boxing will commence their link starting with Golovkin's bout against Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF middleweight title in New York on October 5.
With Golovkin and Hearn joining forces, the possibility of a showdown with new Matchroom recruit Billy Joe Saunders increases.
Callum Smith, Daniel Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade are also part of the Matchroom stable.
"My promotion company and I are happy to partner up with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom to bring the fans what they want – the best boxing and the best events," Golovkin said via a Matchroom statement.
"By teaming up with Matchroom, we stress that GGG Promotions is committed to presenting the biggest events in the most important arenas.
"I'm always happy to work with the best in business, and I'm looking forward to what this collaboration will bring to the boxing fans."
Golovkin saw his unbeaten record ended by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez last September, a fight that took place a year after the pair's first meeting ended in a contentious draw.

He returned to winning ways in June with a fourth-round knockout of Steve Rolls.
Hearn said he recognises that a trilogy fight with Canelo remains a scrap many want to see, but he wants Golovkin to take on other challenges.
"We know the world wants to see the Canelo trilogy but there are so many opportunities out there for Gennady all over the world and we look forward to working together on them," Hearn said.
"First things first is for Gennady to win the title on October 5."

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
Good fight. Much better than letting Golovkin pound another Rolls out. Derevyanchenko is a solid fighter but at some point he'll sit down and try to fight it out with Golovkin and be on the bad side of it. Golovkin gets his trinket and the whole Canelo wants his strap back stuff builds.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
I'm glad that this battle was confirmed. This shows where Golovkin is now and how much he has left
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
I like this fight. GGG has either fought Canelo or some random fighter for the past few years. It’s about time he fights one of the top fighters in the division. GGG should win, but he is aging and Derevyanchenko is a solid opponent.

True. I still think he should not have rematched Canelo. Nothing to prove when you won the fight convincingly and get a draw. Boxing is crooked and everyone knows that, so it was a waste of career ladder time but another payday. He still won the rematch but then has the loss to show for it. I hope he is done with Canelo and that Canelo really does fight Kovalev.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG
Listening to Golovkin this week - he's speaking in his own tongue as he was tired of being made a fool - what a difference to the goofy smiling "big drama show," "Mexican style." He actually comes across as intelligent/savvy.
Instead of nodding and smiling like a lap dog, when they're throwing supermiddle names at him, he firmly says he's a middleweight who has every intention of staying at middleweight. He mentioned Murata in Japan for a title (which will make the Al boys happy).
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
I hope GGG isn't under some sort of illusion where he thinks he needs a KO or an impressive outing to get the 3rd Canelo fight. That could spell trouble. Things going to norm, I see an 8-4, maybe 9-3 type GGG win.

You accidentally used “boys” right, don’t know the history of it right?

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
I'd love to see Golovkin via pulverizing statement here. May not want to except it but he is in a tit for tat with Canelo in long game but only if you think Canelo wins 175 and comes back. Derevyanchenko has many of the tools to beat him if he isn't pressured down from jump. And as long as Golovkin doesn't target his body :-X. This could be more fun than expected.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
I’m calling for the upset on this one but GGG ends up getting the controversial decision
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
This will be a good one I think, golovkin is getting up there in age now and he did seem to get hit a bit too much v rollos but I guess he sort of always been like that against overmatched opponents. It'll be interesting to see where the old git is at at this stage of his career. Ukrainian fellow is good for sure but prime for prime he's no golovkin... But age.. Could be fun.

You and power puncher are making me think that an upset is on. Tempted to watch it live now.

At 5/1 Sergei is worth a crack.

Are those really the odds? That’s crazy. Derevyanchenko isn’t a Steve Rolls type fighter. He is legit world class.
-
Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
If you think 5/1 is big, what would you wager? Imagine you had to stake real money, there were consequences, no way of saving face with hindsight.

I know that a controversial decision in boxing is rare but I just have a feeling 😁

Actually I meant GGG being the beneficiary for a change. ;D

Are you asking me? I've wasted a twenty on worse, Derevyanchenko is a live dog at those odds for me.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
I had no idea Dazn let's you have two platforms with subscription ;D. Been stubbornly dropping 20 here and there but ol brother from another Mother up North just hooked me up. This is what happens when you introduce friends to the sport ;D.

I hate this crap. I’m not getting DAZN. I’ve had enough of boxing behind a paywall.

Worst part is not all service areas and internet providers are same. Depending on location you can be lagging behind or continually refreshing.
Economically it's much better compared to cable cost etc. But man, the platform blows. Not to mention if you're pinned down to just one screen, tablet etc live RBRs and posting become secondary. Now THAT part truly sucks.

You don't have any casting devices to put it to the TV?. It's an extra cost but very useful for all streaming stuff. I usually watch it on the phone though, unless it's Alvarez then I switch to computer screen :S... I keep all my old phones though so I use the older one to post whilst watching if I ever feel the need.

A friend had mentioned Fire stick or even using Xbox one but not a hundred percent sure on the gist of that to be honest. Would definitely make all the difference and need to look into it. Had no idea xbox was even possible but makes so much sense.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports
At least they always show the GGG fights. I am going to enjoy this one. It has been a while since GGG was in against anyone good without PED's or blind judges. Mind you, he is old now so we will see. Will support GGG anyway. It has been years wasted on that ginger twat who will hopefully get hurt next month.

OH yeah you can use get the app on smart tv's, ps4/Xbox and I think android boxes like Roku too. Then it's pretty much the same as tv, depending on internet quality of course. I use Chrome cast its like 50 quid and you can stream just about anything to it.

Re: GGG vs Derevyanchenko on Oct 5 @ MSG - DAZN/Sky Sports

I owe you bud ;D. All this time I never actually checked xbox for app :p :vd:. Installed about 2 minutes, boom Big drama show on the wall now. Pics a tad smeared on and off probably a matter of cable or tv having some years on it.
Joseph Ward made debut he'll never forget. Just a nasty freak injury saw his left kneecap roll over to side of his leg. Chalk up one "KO" loss. Doctor pops it back in and everybody does the ugh ahhhh wince :-X. That was ugly!

Very smooth. Madrimov better than Munguia from my vision. Win TKO Round 5
