So who wins? I think its a pretty good fight, wouldn't be shocked if it goes either way
Raheem SD
I don't think Freitas can outbox Raheem, hes going to have to have to take the fight to him and hurt him, It will be a close fight but I think Freitas is power will show up.
Freitas by Ko.
It's a really good fight, is it on HBO ??? Raheem by a big UD, I think this will be his coming out, least I hope so. Really like him.
Raheem UD OR Freitas TKO10,can't decide!!!!
Freitas by UD :D
I can't wait for this fight. I think Raheem by UD.
Raheem MD
Raheem looks to have the brighter future. If he can make a statement for this fight. I expect him to be a future top ten pound for pounder. That's how bright his future is. He can become something special.
Fights against the three C's : Casamayor, Castillo, and Corrales are on the horizon. And if he wins big againt Freitas, he has a serious chance to beat these guys. Also, his skill can get past the "Busy" Bull Juan Diaz!
But he has to get past Freitas. 8) Freitas in NO WALK IN THE PARK.
Allow me to explain...
1) More Experienced.
2) Bigger.
3) Stronger & Powerful.
4) Awkward.
Popo is fast, yes, but he's also less accurate and loops his punches more than straight punching phenom Raheem. Which makes him slower than he should be and weaker. BUT he is fast, make no mistake. He made Corrales look like a turtle, while it lasted, provided Corrales was never known for his blazing speed. Not only that, Popo uses the ring quite a lot, he knows his way around. Also note that Popo has the hometown advantage at Foxwoods Casino, since he's fought there before and they love him. Although, Raheem is used to fighting against hometown crowds.
The logical choice is Acelino Freitas.
The hopeful choice, to a kid's brighter future, and a gamble at what can be one of the best boxers of this era... Zahir Raheem.
Raheem by unanimous decision for me... although that choice does not mean that I think it will be a stroll for him.
Anyone know if Popo has had any trouble making weight?
Gyrokai,I have heard Freitas manager say that Freitas wants to get back to being that KO machine before he starting using that hocus pocus, herky jerky style., If that's the case,I think he can walk through Raheem.
Raheem by decision
Raheen UD. Not that confident though. Haven't seen him hit as I've never seen the Juarez fight. Looking forward to this one.
raheim by decision and i garunteee in this fight he will throw some of the best punches we have seen in a long time ... because he threw some of the tightest punches i have ever seen in my life against erik...
At this point in time Freitas-Morales/MAB/Juarez are better match ups...Raheem can and will dance around Popo, and if he thought Barrios was hard to catch he's gonna have fits with Raheem!
Zahir needs to fight Juarez again ESPECIALLY if he's able to beat MAB, which I honestly doubt he will because a left hook does not make a champion, he has to train on other things too.
I go back and forth on this one, if Freitas would straighten his right hand out he could catch Zahir and I'm not totally sure about Zahir's chin but if he just loops it like he's been doing I think Raheem could just duck under it all night and if Freitas can't catch him with the right then I don't know exactly what he would be able to do.
Will his chin hold up though? And is he still trained by Oscar Suarez? If Freitas comes forward he isn't walking through anything as he still loops his shots. And Freitas only knows his way around the ring if you are chasing him, he will be chasing Raheem more then likely. And Frietas gets caught by straight punches by the likes of Artur Grigorian. But I think raheem will have a straight punch fest and as long as he doesn't do anything stupid he can win. And he needs to go to Freitas' body. The Mayweathers(Jeff and Floyd) have been training Raheem as Floyd calls Raheem his "next prodigy" so we'll see. If thats the case he should have no problem with Freitas. Even if he loses once Oscar gets beat by Mayorga Floyd Sr can give ALL his time to Raheem ;)Quote:

Jeff said in an interviewed that Raheem walked... and didnt even call him for weeks. Does anyone even know if hes being trained by the mayweathers anymore. When I thought he was, I had him winning this fight solidly. I think without them, he's still got enough skills and a sense of self preservation to beat freitas. But will that missed training time and or time without a trainer make the difference?Quote:

His herky jerky style is ok. It works. He just needs to be less exaggerated just a tad bit less. But he only does that style only because....*whispers: He doesn't know how to block punches.Quote:

There was an article on Jeff at DogHouse, isn't he training Shannon Briggs too? Maybe I'm mistaken but I'll look for the article.
