thank you man
appreciate it ;D
as much most people hated him i always thought he was a good fighter, an entertaining personality and did wonders for the popularaty of the sport in england in the 90's
if only there was one like him now in england
anyone remember the interview he did with nigal benn on the jonathan ross show just before there second fight when half way through the show they had a live satalite link to america where micky rourke had james toney with him and good old james kept insulting eubanks family, does anyone else remember it?????????????????
He was the originator of true boxing arena entry. The originator of lining up challengers. The originator of putting money before glory (and the only guy who actually did it legit).Quote:

Watson was rapidly becoming my older brother and my fave uk fighter for a good 18 months prior to that night.
Michael Watson is a soldier in my eyes and one amazing person and im 100% positive there is something special lurking within him that he'll produce in the next few years. ;)
i saw the fight live and its one of the best theres been. it was greatly sad what happen and unforgetable for those who saw the fight. mr watson is truely a great example to everyone in showing courage, his marathon achievment was one of the most touching pictures and he should be remembered as a great warrior inside and out of the ring.
eubank was in a different way also never the same again after the fight
if they together are happy for people to watch there great fight then we should respect there feelings
Yep, I remember that.Quote:

haha yes and then nigel benn told toney he was as thick as two short planksQuote:

Benn, Eubank and Toney were trash-talking eachother, with Mickey Rourke just laughing his ass off in the background.

I'd like to see it too.Quote:

It was way past my bedtime, and by the tenth round I was sent to bed by my mum as we all thought that Watson was winning comfortably (though I can't remember much details of the fight itself), than waking up the next morning to hear the terrible news.
After thinking about it I would like to see it again sometime. Watson is not given enough credit for his career in the ring which was good and had the potential to be great as he was hitting his prime, he'd beaten Benn (and probably Eubank as well in their first fight) while both were at their best. Yet we don't hear half as much about him when we discuss the supermiddleweight greats, and the casual sports fans only know him as the guy Eubank damaged.
Watson showed against Don Lee that he was a world-class fighter, when nobody gave him a chance. Watson was only a late substitute against Lee too, Bomber Graham was supposed to be fighting him in a WBA world title eliminator bout.
shit, reallyQuote:
