He's trying to be. But why the hate already its just his 9th fight. I don't think they'll throw him in with Hopkins in his 10th. The man hasn't hit double digits in his career and people accuse him of being spoonfed. Last night he looked spectacular.
Hey, Kolle was a step up. He still isn't that good and Kolle's record suggested he was better then he really was but still, it's not like he's still fighting clubfighting bums. Though I really hate that RJJ style because he is so technically sound and fighting like RJJ with his hands down will only get him in trouble :-\
Andre Ward: Future Pound for Pound #1 :thumb:
So where do you think he will end up in say 6 years?

As soon as he stops fighting them Mid Western white boys, Ward will be exposed.
I can't say where Ward will end up. Have to see his next five fights for good prediction. As far as being RJJ 2, it won't happen.
he schooled that fool yesterday w/o even using his ultimate jab
...Are you a Ward fan?Quote:

Yeah, that's pretty unrealistic considering he is at his worst when he tries to fight like Roy. Isn't he signed to Roy's promotion? He needs not to be Roy but to be Andre and use that kickass jab.Quote:

I haven't seen Sultan to be honest but I don't see a top P4P heavy for quite some time because of the lack of competition at HW.
Calling Andre ward the next RJ is calling a basketball player the next Jordan. May be some similarities but will never be another one
Andre's heros are Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd Mayweather.
I hope he can act like them in the ring and not act like them outside the ring. In other words, be a fighter and less a "cautious businessman." If and when Andre's time comes.
I can almost guarantee you'll never hear about Andre Ward getting in trouble outside the ring.Quote:

He looks like he gets caught in the middle sometimes. Like hes not fully comfortable and hes not focusing all the time. Too busy worried about how things should happen or whats not going right. I could be wrong.
No no you are definitely not wrong. In the Boone fight, Boone avoided his jab for most of the first round and he abandoned it after that because he was worried that it wasn't working when in all actuality it was because it kept Boone on the outsude. Then he went down in the fight from a shott when he was standing in the middle.Quote:

Andre looks nice, very nice. But as Dan Rafeal says on ESPN, he doesnt have the "pro fighter" thing down yet. He still boxes a bit like an amateur or transition fighter.
If his trainer, or a new one took him to that next level, he could be great, really great.
And SecondroundKO, youre right, that jab is beautiful, nice to see it in an up and comer.

Only thing he does differnt is relies on his jab a lot more, Roy always used his left hook as a jab. I have a good friend who used to sparr with Andre Ward and likes the guy, but swears he is going to get KO'd soon at Middleweight. He says that is just too big for him, regardless of what he fought at in the amatuers. I kinda agree, only 4, now 5 KO's/stoppages, the guy doesn't really show much pop. Has shown that he is not that difficult to hurt either. 154 would probably suit him better.
Its all such bs, watch the hopkins fight with jones merchant says how Ive seen ray leonard and no roy jones is no ray leanoard he dont compare, everyone just blows hot and cold
Huh? Roy was at least twice the fighter Ray Leonard was.Quote:

i dont think so, hes not as fast and doesnt hit as hard as rjj, he may turn out to be a great fighter but he'll never be a rjj
Ward doesn't have the speed or power to be RJ....he's a decent fighter but I think he's gonna be beat early in his career
Here's a fight I hope we see in the next few years. John Duddy v. Andre Ward. I think Duddy would kill him right now, but once Ward gets some more seasoning, it would make for a great fight talent-wise and style-wise.
Ward will never be half the boxer or achieve a quarter of amount has a legend like Jones Jr has.
All John Duddy has is power and a chin. He is one dimentional and a comeforward guy who's chin is all open. he will be outboxed the hell out of one day.Quote:

Ward obviously lacks power compared to RJJ, doesn't have the reflexes to elude punishment in the same fashion, not as fast, and (as bas as it sounds) his chin isn't as good. He still could be #1 P4P like Mayweather is now, but like Mayweather he just won't compare.
Duddy is one hell of a workhorse, he's gonna be good. Yeah so he's more of a brawler, no problem with that.Quote:
