Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
In my area Showtime runs an advertisement on channel 600 that goes something like: " where else can one find the brutality of boxing, the openess of weeds, the in your face facts of Penn & Teller, and the visually sensual all on one channel?
I don't know how many times my family has paid for what was advertised as four hours of fights but then after an hour we get Penn & Teller ripping up Bibles and doing something likeputting down the boy scouts because homosexuals are no longer hired; or we get the show "weeds" that that portrays pot smokers as the in crowd and all the non-pot snokers as nerds and jerks, or else its some kind of porn.
Shouldn't boxers who are for the most part Christian and or spirtually devout protest having their fights shown on the same channel with this garbage?

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
Watch what you want, and change the channel when something comes on you don't like. Do you need someone to hold your hand?
You should petition the 700 club to show fights. Jimmy Swagart can be the comentator. Praise Jesus.

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
I don't have Show Time. Only HBO. I remember distinctly taking it off because of Queer as Folk and the "L" Word. Ironically, I used to work for Viacom that owned the damn thing.
If they spend much time and effort in boxing as they do with these liberal, lesbian and gay shows, they wouldn't be losing boxers like Calzaghe and Hatton to HBO.
Pretty soon they wouldn't be able to keep Castillo and Corrales after their fight.

If you cancel a tv channel that airs great prizefights like showtime, on account of you don't like hearing liberal views
Start getting out of the house more often, you'll love yourself for it
Promise!!

lemme guess. They've lost Calzaghe and Hatton. Pretty soon after Lacy makes a solid comback and is in contention again, HBO will sign him over.
If Roy Jones does good in these upcoming fights, HBO will resign him.
All great fighters leave Showtime for HBO. Showtime has not shown proper committment to boxing as it has shown for liberal, lesbian and gay shows.
This is why I took it off my Direct Tv account.
On HBO, I can see ODH, PBF and Hatton. The 3 biggest names in boxing. In addition I can see Jermaine Taylor and Winky Wright. Pretty soon I will be seeing Calzaghe, and by next yr I'll be seeing Calzaghe vs Tarver.
The above is what you call COMMITTMENT TO BOXING
Now let us compare that to Showtime that is owned by Viacom, the world's biggest Media Group
Lost Calzaghe just as he entered his prime. Lost Kessler Lost Hatton just as he entered his prime. Signed an already fading Tyson after release from prison. Signed a post prime Jones after he got KOED and unceremoniously fired from HBO. Will have Corrales and Castillo, for the near future.
The above is what you call UNCOMMITED TO BOXING
But instead I am to watch Emmy Awarding winning and nominated, "Queer as Folk," and, "The "L" Word."
This is the difference between Showtime and HBO. HBO goes for quality across the board, whether in sports, movies or original production like deadwood, the sopranos, rome etc.

If you want to stick to your moral majority position, you need to remove HBO too. Real Time with Bill Maher (liberal), Big Love (polygamy), etc. I agree that HBO has better programming and recently has had a few better fights, but you're being an idiot.
-
Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
More than idiot shza, conservative with a stick up his ass - much much worse
Like I said he doesn't leave his house much :lickish:
Bet if BigMix really let us know what really has his panties in a bunch we'd laugh

How can you compare Real Time and Big Love with Queer as Folk ??? ??? and the L Word ???
The closest thing HBO has compared to Queer and Folk and the L word, is 6 Feet Under. But 6 feet under is pretty mild compared to those ouvert homosexual acts that one sees on Queer as folk and the L word. By the way, I can't imagine I'm even trying to debate your ridiculous position.
Your statement alone is self defeating, since Real Time with Bill Maher is a talk show, whereas Big Love is a show surrounding Mormons. "Sex" is not the ever pursuing apotheosis of these shows. CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT. But in Queer as Folk and the L Word, gay sex is.
And if you call me an idiot for holding that position, I would gladly wear the title since you show that you have a superificial grasp of what is going on here. Superificial people giving insults are actually compliments.

lastly, I'm not a conservative.
After having a son, I would be watching television, mostly sports trying to rock him to sleep. And guess what, having Queer as Folk, and the L word coming on afterwards is >:mad does not cut it.
HBO has boxing, Real Sports, Inside the NFL, Legendary Nights etc. All top quality programming, in addition to the best fighters.

What is wrong with Gay and Lesbian shows? I will tell something, there is a lot more Gay and Lesbian people, than there are true boxing fans. ;)

So then just watch HBO... and the people who like Queer as Folk can watch that... what's the big deal? This stuff wouldn't be on the air if everyone hated it.

Maracho and Bigmix :fyou: Noone cares what you disapprove of.
Remember that there are a lot of people who would like to see boxing done away with and their argument holds just as much weight as yours.
People like you are the reason our freedom is conditional and incomplete.

its ENTERTAINMENT, not a political statement...
the paid programming creflo dollar non-sense is more insulting for two reasons...
1. its made to be taken seriously, not as entertainment
2. its traveling over open airwaves

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
Penn and Teller are not liberals. They are libertarians. Which would make them ecconomically conservative.

i think it's the socially liberal aspect of their libertarianism that has these boys' panties in a bunch.

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
This forum has just deleted the whole thread on black athletes yet it allows the blatant and isnsulting discrimination against Christians above. I wouldn't be surprised if this forum recieves Showtime royalties.
I bet we won't see these radical "politically correct" liberals making these kinds of insulting posts and gestures against muslims.

You got our number ;)

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
On the showtime forum there are some cronies who have questioned the rights of boxers to to pray in the ring, cross their hearts, or wear anything that refers to biblical scripture. 99.% of all boxers give witnes to their faith in God and most of these boxers are Christian.
Radical liberalism manipulated by satan would love to outlaw these powerfull testaments of the true Spirit world just as they have done in our nations schools and universities.
Obviously, there are very few boxers on this forum but hopefully a few will read this and be prepared.
I should add that I actually went on the Penn & Teller message board to see if the forum would delete any posts that threatened their agenda as does showtime. Sure enough, after I easily and repeatedly exposed their lies and totally defeated all aguments in their favor, most of my posts were deleted until I was finally threated to be banned if I continued to discredit Mr. Penn.

You shouldn't be so disrespectful of Satan. Sure, Showtime's been lagging a bit behind HBO in the past few months, but Satan and the rest of his staff there have put on some great fights in the last couple of years. The guy's working with what he's got--give him a break.

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
I would imagine that HBO is just as bad but since they mostly only have boxing in PPV for outragious prices, it hardly ever gets watched. I really do appreciate their freebies though.

You forget that being a Christian is a choice, an opinion. (I say this having my own faith)
Black athletes dominating the world of boxing (cause my white ass isn't contending yet :)) is a fact. You'll find it much easier to debate something we can all grab ahold of. And I have absolutely no problem making insulting gestures torward radical muslims btw
Gotta stop thinking your opinion is fact, or else you're gonna go through life with everyone assuming you're full of shit - hey I think I'm making that very assumption right now.
But you did mention something that needs to be mentioned. Saddo has been famous for deleting racially driven posts, but anytime someone feels like insulting a homosexual, anything of that sort, he does nothing. I don't believe in treating everyone equally, more hating everyone equally. It really is fair, so get that shit straightened up Saddo :)

religion is a choice, and its something anyone can choose to accept or deny...
race is not a choice, there is no room for racial BS ;)

i dont understand how you can be religious and then get mad about people who are agianst your beliefs...
if i was religious id just tell myself that it was a test from above or some other BS ;)

Re: Any boxers or boxing fans fed up with Showtime's radical liberal agenda?
You're comparing poking fun at some fairy tales to discriminating against your fellow man based on an inherent trait.
I don't blame you, you've likely been brainwashed from birth by the people you love and respect most.
I hope you can one day have an enlightening epiphany and see that the beliefs you hold dearest are fabrications of man designed only to control you and perpetuate themselves.
Good luck with that :)

good luck with that :)
