I'm not overly optomistic of it living up to the hype. I voted hometown decision for Oscar.

I expect Mayorga to get a couple points deducted and Oscar to be given the nod in every close round. Mayorga will need to at least get a knockdown or two to win on the scorecards I think.

i just think oscar has been running a little flat in his last few performances and to come back after a 20 month layoff against a nut like mayorga....i just dont think a possibly very focussed mayorga is the guy to shake off any cobwebs against...

mayorga hasnt been all that active himself, but he does seem very keyed up for this....i actually think this could be interesting...

shoule be dlh, but i mayorga will go down swinging, dlh dont have the power of tito so mayorga will be able to take dlh punches goint to be a good fight

Oscar will stop Mayorga. He is a pawn and as washed up as the Golden Boy could be himself. only he was never anywhere near as good.

Up until today I was certain that DLH would either stop Mayorga late, or win a very lopsided decision. For some reason I am starting to think that it is very possible that a rusty, aging, not so hungry Oscar shows up on Saturday, and the starving Mayorga fully capitalizes.

I still think DLH is going to win this, but I am now not so sure of myself.

DLH of old destroys Mayorga every time... but I'm a little worried about what DLH is going to show up.

I'm still picking Oscar by decision, but he's old and basically retired and I'm a little worried.

Well I read an interview where he admitted that he probably wouldn't fight Floyd. Don't Matter, cus he gonna lose against El Matador come Saturday night.

Floyd is waiting for De La Hota so he can get 23 million for fighting him. If Mayorga wins a decision.. then boxing will have surprised me. He needs to knock DLH out. And De La Hoya's desire seems phony to me. "I have to be world champion again...it..its in my blood." I hate hearing those words coming from a fighter on the downside, because 9 times out of 10 they never get it.. but its still in their blood, like Holyfield.

Oscar was beaten by Felix Sturm in a Gimmie fight. Mayorga knocked Pichirillo down constantly and clearly won, and he didn't look as bad as Oscar looked. Actually, the Mayorga that fought Pichirillo would destroy the DLH that fought Sturm ;)

Are you serious?? The MAyorga that fought Picerillo would destroy the DLH that fought Sturm... Sturm is a world class middleweight.. Picerillo was a blown up welter who was never word class... Why is it that you assume every fighter on earth has multiple identitys?? I hate it.. How many times do we have to hear you say, oh well the boxer that tied his shoes this way on november 15th/2005 would definetly beat the DLH that wipes his ass with 2 ply toilet paper.. I mean come on just give it a break.. Fighters are fighters they don't have multiple styles or just wake up each day a different fighter.. Starr, your comments and posts are almost always intelligent and reasonable. Do you personally dislike Oscar or do you actually think that Mayorga is going to punish him? If Oscar keeps to his game plan...he will methodically destroy Mayorga. They have both been inactive for sometime...but Oscar is BY FAR the better boxer, is as strong if not stronger, and has just as good a chin as Mayorga. And when it comes to ring smarts...well....Mayorga and smarts just don't go together. Even if Oscar completely gives up on his game plan and goes to war with Mayorga...I still would give the edge to Oscar. He is just a flat out better boxer. Unless he comes in totally careless and rusty....this will be a one sided mismatch.

1 Mayorga Knockout before 6
2 De La Hoya UD

I don't understand why people think De La Hoya in a knockout, he has only one knockout in all of his mega fights and that was against Vargas. Mayorga has only been knocked out once and that was against Trinidad which he stood toe to toe with for eight rounds and took Trinidads best blows showing a granite chin. No other boxer from 160 down could have took that punishment including De La Hoya who ran from Trinidad the last 4 rounds and backed up the whole fight, or Hopkins who was very keen on staying on the outside and not letting Trinidad set his feet. So why in the hell would you expect a De La Hoya knockout.
