1960 der was a boy called cassius clay who worked so hard and earned a gold medal from boxing for his country........USA
Later on ali went into a restaurant and got kicked out jus because of his colour, ali say to the manager ''ali said listen i won a gold medal in he olympics for this country'' the manager replied ur still a n****** at the end of the day. this was 46 years ago...have things changed....no

jus few months back amir khan went to liver pool to see his younger brother fight, all the audience was gettin autograph of amir khan and being very nice.
when amir khan brother won on points against the white boy, suddenly the the crowd started shouting black c**** and pak*
and all kinds of racist comments, they threw bolttle at amir khan and went for him as the security escorted amir khan out.
the worst thing is these ppl were nice to him but they true colour showed when their were mad.

thats the correct attitude to have, you should just like the fighters for their style or some aspect of their character that appeals. i like many different styles of fighter from a multitude of cultures and ethnicities and the same fundamental things shine through, be it their ring prescence or else personality. agreed about toney, his comments do seem to grate on me these days. as does his extraordinary waistline... ;D

Draft dodger? What was right about the Vietnam War? Wasn't it a little strange to you that they changed him from a failing grade inelidgable to 1A? and what did the Vietnam war prove? And Ali not going had a major major major impact on history and society, had he went to war the whole system may be different. It was a great thing for Ali not to go to the draft.

yeah, a soldiers duty is to go to war when there is a demand for their presence. thats their proffesion...but being called up is a different thing.

Ali was a proffessional boxer. if he opposed going to the war then why should he go?? like i say if i was enlisted to go off and fight in a war that i really thought was unjust i would probably just say no as well. thats my free choice as a rational thinking human being. people have the right to make a stand if they vehemontly disagree with something. we dont owe our clumsy governments anything, especially not our lives if its something we dont particularly feel is justified.

Well fact was it was US policy at the time to stop the spread of Communism seeing how this was during THE COLD WAR.

Also FACT we tried to help France one of our favorite allies who ended up with a total surrender to the VC, this means they left their people, their troops, everyone.

The war started being different at 1967 after the Tet Offensive, we judged our victories by body counts and not by land held and it came back to bite us in the ass.
