I would like to see it. Oscar has a lot to prove against Sturm, and I think with him being motivated, he will beat him.
But Sturm does deserve a rematch.

I think Oscar is getting too late in his career to worry about who deserves a fight. If he only has one fight left in the tank then why waste it on Sturm?
I would just like to see Sturm Fight period. Very skilled boxer deserves to be on T.V
I don't think it would be a waste on Sturm. Well it would be a waste on Sturm if he has to decide between Margarito and Sturm.Quote:

Why on Earth, would Oscar want to go anywhere near Strum again?
It is far to a difficult fight, for too little a reward, too late in de la Hoya's career.
If I was Oscar, I would not touch Strum with yours ;)
As a career ender, I think fighting Sturm or Margarito would be a waste. Give us a mega fight for a finally.
Sturm is a 160lb fighter isn't he?
Sturm would just beat him again. With no Hopkins fight on the horizon he will get the decision this time.
i think if he shows up to fight Sturm the way he looked on Saturday, he could very well become the new WBA middleweight champion of the world
Oscar has no business with sturm it was proven in their first fight. sturm is a solid middleweight oscar would be a blown up welterweight. although I believe an in shape delahoya can give sturm a run for his money. he was so fat and pudgy in the first fight.
Against Sturm all the flaws in his style were exposed and Sturm has gotten better then he was then, I don't think DLH would ever fight Sturm again, too much risk which risks too many big fights. He won't be fighting for a whike because he suffered a rotater cup injury while beating up Mayorga. Same injury Vitali quit about.
I think theres bigger names then Sturm for Oscar to end his career on.
could you elaborate on that. all sturm did that night was jab jab jab, he rarely followed up with a right or a left. oscar was just in with a guy bigger than him, who he under estimated and showed up without any training not making excuses for oscar he got what he deserved. as a veteran professional he should have come prepared. he embarrassed himself and a lot of his fans.Quote:

To say that all sturm did that night was jab jab jab & that he rarely followed up with a right or a left shows that you need to watch the fight again...no offence chamiley...because I know that sounded harsh...but really...you need to watch the fight again.
Not only did Sturm wear Oscar down & beat him at his own game...the art of the jab. Sturm dominated Oscar physically in no way that he ever had been before. Not Shane, not Tito, not Quartey, outmuscled Oscar that way.
Sturm cut the ring off & cracked Oscar with left hooks all night that could not miss. Sturm went back & forth all night with his jab & used his left repetively & then against struck back with his jab...he pretty much neutralized anything Oscar had.
What more do you need.
Sturm threw combinations & busted Oscar's face up with his jab. Whenever he rarely threw his body shots...he moved Oscar. 160lbs or not...Oscar can still fight & effectively as was shown this past weekend.
Sturm deserves the credit. You watch that fight again...then you watch his other fights...even his losses to Hopkins & Mosley & you tell me that you truely believe that it was he who embarrassed himself & not Sturm.
People need to give Sturm the credit he deserves...they also need to see more than just one or two fights before passing judgement on the mans skills. Oscar lost won that fight for a reason.
Why?
Oscar already beat him..... 8)
:D
Gifts=No Rematch Clause
as long as oscar can get him to come down to 154.....I don't see oscar stepping up in weight to try that again...the Hopkins fight is still fresh in the back of his mind....Quote:

[/ I agree Britkid.
I have seen his other fights so far I see a boxer with good technical skills but he is still untested you cannot use his fight with oscar as a barometer to measure him. any decent middleweight could have done that to oscar plus sturm was hungry and oscar was out of shape. sturm has to fight either taylor or winkyQuote:

Oscar would say the same thing about Sturm as he did about Quartay, after his NARROW victory. "There's much better fighters out there. This guy doesn't deserve a rematch. The public wants to see better fights." Yea, you mean fights that you hand pick to win? Oscar doesn't really need to rematch Sturm though. But, the point is, he wouldn't anyway.
up untill recently there was no money in the fight with winky zilch, only after him beating shane and tito that people actually want to see oscar fight winky. Winky-Oscar in the years 2000 to 2004 would have generated absolutely no interest in the boxing world and oscar always wants the biggest fight out there, that is not considered ducking. he has mentioned him as an opponent but its most likely not going to happen because of winky's fight with jermain and there is too little time till september to squeeze another fight in.Quote:

Agree with everything. I'm pissed at Floyd for not fighting Tony. But, I'm equally pissed at Oscar for telling Floyd they were going to fight. Oscar flashing money to a guy like Floyd is like taking a kid to a candy store. 8 million is great, but we both know Oscar told Floyd more. Plus, it wouldn't suprise me if Oscar just wants to recruit Floyd. Especially with the fued between Oscar and Arum. Floyd was only going to get 8 million AFTER the Zab fight. The numbers before would have been equall to the Zab fight, but the Zab fight would have brought a higher percentage of PPV buys.Quote:

Wrights a Middleweight, Vargas will be a Middleweight, the Mayweather fight may not happen, Quartey is in limbo waiting for Vernon Forrest Trinidad aint coming back and Margarito is fighting Joshua Clottey. I think that narrows it down a bit.
Mayweather would really push for the fight. Vargas and Wright would both come down for an Oscar fight. Forrest is damn near crippled, I doubt he'll ever fight Quartey. If Hatton looks outstanding on Saturday he becomes a visable option. Other than that. Were does Strum sign?Quote:
