Come On friend, we both know that Lacy will never become a major player in the SMW. His boxing skills are simply to poor. Hands down.

Can't say for sure, but I'm sure he would be in the top 5. He still has the power to KO anyone. Before the loss to Joe, I would say he'd be top three at least, but now that the blueprint to beat him has been established, he's going to have it rough regardless of where he is fighting or ranked. Hopefully he makes proper adjustments, and learns to set up his punches better. If he does that, he might do something. But, like I said above, alot of fighters aren't going to be scared, and will challenge him harder after they have seen how to beat him. His future could go either way. We'll see if he has enough heart to make the right choices, and walk through the fire. He showed it against Joe, even in losing. Now, we'll see the true test of courage in his road back.

i would say top 5 i guess, he was champion after all
Im not too famaliar with the SMW division, there are alot of undefeated fighters out there

He would easily be top 25... it owuld be stupid to put him lower than 5...

The thing is...at 168lbs...lately...titles & positions have changed hands & spots more than Royal changes his screen names...but one thing is for sure...opposition wise Lacy has shown more heart & fought better fighters than any of the fighters that are currently ranked in the top 10.

Yes...that does include Kessler.

I'd have Lacy ranked either 5th or 6th. Just under Beyer, Chanet, & Mkrtchian.

The thing about boxing...you don't just toss a man off of the map because he lost to the best in the world...you just move him down a spot or two & wait for him to make another move...that's what makes champions.

Most boxing fans don't let bias & stupidity rule their decisions.

I like Kessler...but he's unproven & he's on fought two or three mentionable names...Lacy fought the best in the world & quite a few others...not to mention...he's done a bit of globetrotting...Lacy will be just fine.

The verdicts still out on my boy Kess...but Lacy sure as shat aint the closed case that the Danish try to make him out to be.

No way in hell do I feel that Chanet or Mkrwho? are better than Lacy...but Lacy aint fighting right now...so how do you factor him in. He hasn't made a squeek since the beating & those are the guys that have just so recently fought.

I have Lacy above Chanet & behind Mkrtchian because he took Chanet's spot. Dawson hasnt fought the world...but he's been coming up & he's been just as impressive as all the rest. Basically here's how I'd have it:

1: Joe Calzaghe
2: Mikkel Kessler
3: Markus Beyer
4: Chad Dawson
5: Mger Mkrtchian
6: Jeff Lacy
7: Jackson Chanet

I like the list but would put Mundine as no. 3 and Chanet out of top 10 - else very good ranking

Remember that Chanet and his time said no to fight Kessler even Chanet was mandatory to Kessler's WBA title....

Yeah whats with all you guys rating Aussies like Green and Mundine so low. After Green KO's Mundine next wednesday then you will all rank him up there with Kessler and Calzaghe.
By the way i rank Green & Mundine 5 & 6 in my top 10 SMW rankings.
Just behind the three champs and Lacy. But don't agree with me just check out Dan Rafael's rankings from espn cause he ranks them both higher than me.

For god sake, can someone please explain to me why mundine is ranked lower then green? I want proof people! He certainly hasnt fought better people then mundine and hes never been a world champ, hes only been an interim. If we were gonna base it on there last performances for world titles then i think mundine would go ahead hands down. Come may 17th people....greens gonna drop out of those rankings just like mundine drops him to the canvas ;)

Jeff Lacy was too green to fight Calzaghe but he took the fight anyways, fought hard and went the distance, give the guy a break!

So Lacy learned a lesson vs Calzaghe...he's young, he'll bounce back, though taking a beating over 12 is harder to come back after than a plain KO or TKO...I mean that was demoralizing but he showed his heart to everyone out there.

Pretty good list difficult to argue although I'd have Lacy in place of Tyspko, Lacy did beat Tyspko after all and is a former world champ, in fact I'd place Lacy at 4, one decision loss to the Ring Champion doesn't demote a fighter out of the Top 10, or even the top 5 imo.
