A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
That drowned alive magic trick? (which isn't even magic) was he able to do it?
-
Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
I can't watch a less-talented, boring Copperfield wanna-be. Sorry. Especially not for 2 hours, gimme a break!
-
Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
Nope, he missed the mark by over a minute and a half I think, they had to dive in and rescue him before he bit it.

No, he was'nt, the record was for 9minutes, he made it to 7minutes, I still think it was bullshit, some how I think he had someway to breath with a hidden tube, I held my breath under water for like 1:40 sec and it felt like I was under water for a week, and he was in some sort of a bubble where he could'nt just stand up and breath.

What did Copperfield do that the masked magician showed?

Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
I don't think he is bullshit. All magic tricks are a combination of diverting attention, slight of hand, etc. His personal feats are all real. He really did stay in a block of ice, he really did stay suspended over a bridge in a pexiglass box for 44 days without food, just water... he really did stand on a 10 story platform for something like a week in new york city... unable to sit or anything.
I am pretty sure he had no breathing device when he failed to make 9 minutes... or else he would have made 9 minutes. And it is possible to hold your breath that long... it takes tons of training. Otherwise the record of 8 minutes and 58 seconds wouldn't exist.
To fault a magician because he doesn't possess any real magic is insane. He's damn good at what he does.
David Copperfield on the other hand blows. He is in a dark theatre, where spectators are at a distance, and unable to change position. By doing that, and by leaving tv spectators to depend on camera angles, he can get away with just about anything.
Personally... in your face magic is more impressive to me.

Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
like who? Criss Angel ;D That woodchipper trick was amazing though
-
Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
well to answer your question star he showed all of the major basic tricks and how magicians pull them off, so all the disapearing, cutting in half, teleporting, guessing answer type of tricks.
david copperfields show is entertaining he gets u all sucked in on the emotional level. DC makes sick bank too!!!!!!!!

Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
Blaine is an idiot...as are all these slight of hand parlor trick idiots.
He does take a bit further...rumor is that either his liver or his kidneys got permanently fwocked up from this one. What a geek. Die from that shat & make headlines for a week...they'll forget you in a month. ::**

David Blaine needs a couple of things:
common sense; attention

Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?
David Blaine...I dislike him. Seriously, ok you didn't eat for 40 days. Congrats? You lived in a block of ice? You lived in a bubble? Then you FAILED at acheiving your goal. If he would have done 9 minutes he would be pretty cool but no. All the other things are just stupidity not even cool.
Thumbs down to David Blaine.

Perfectly put. CC
Blaine needs to put a tent on that circus. Was there really a public demand for this stunt (illusion) or did this guy just decide to go out in public and make a spectacle of himself. To me mimes, jugglers, Blaine...they are all the same.
I guess some people like that shit just like some people still like laser light shows.
Then again, maybe its just me. I'm not big on street performers because every time I go into the city (SF) I have to dodge about 3 or 4 every block.

Re: A bit off topic but did anyone see David Blaine?

Yeah it was classic, I work near Tower Bridge & went down their to have a look. People were just sitting there as normal eating their lunch & chatting, nobody was really taking any notice of him!
In America I heard people interviewed say his stunt was inspiring & one woman even said it felt like an almost holy experience. In England if he wasn't ignored people called him an idiot & threw food at him. So funny, so deserved.

Yes, its true there are some idiots on this side of the world who will say that they are inspired by just about anything just to get on Television. Believe me, I would guess that nine out of ten people over here don't give a shit what Blaine is doing. IT IS THE NEWS MEDIA. They pick and choose what stories they feel are important.
But over here, the news media is the problem. They make it seem as if everyone in America is rallying behind this cause or that cause. A year and a half ago, they fooled the entire country into believing that John Kerry would easily win the United States presidency.
I've learned to believe nothing you see on the T.V. News.
"There's nothing I ditest more than the stench of lies....I hate them, I truly hate them, those nabobs" col. Walter E. Kurtz.... Appocolypse Now

You live in the Bay Area? Yeah those robotic people in San Francisco are EVERYWHERE. Me and a few friends were in San Francisco and the guy was smoking crack right there! I swear it was crazy, he was right ouside of Hooters, if you've ever been there, in that little circle plaza by the Pirate store. Kind of crazy in such a public atmosphere haha

San Fran is good to go clubbing once and a while but it is pricey. Where do you guys go?
