Hatton lost the fight?
How can you honestly say hatton outright lost that fight? It was close, but you start off with an automatic 10-8 round. Throw that out and I can see it going either way, but you can't. Hatton won the fight and that's the bottom line. He had knockdowns, was more aggressive, set the pace, had a higher punch output AND punches landed in a back and forth fight. The only way you saw him losing the fight is if you wanted to see him lose it to begin with.
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
On a side note, I definitely don't think Hatton should be fighting up at 147 due to his style and size. Oh and Luis Collazo's front teeth look like you could open a can of refried beans on them. That's all I could think of the whole time he was rambling that BS to the HBO cameras. Buuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee!!! (that's an electric can opener by the way.) ;D
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Hatton lost the fight. And it ain't only cuz I had money on Collazo. Well maybe a little. But Hatton was suppose to walk through Collazo. What happened?
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
And Hatton's face looked like tenderized meat. Hatton hit on the break and caught Collazo off balance scoring ONE KNOCKDOWN. The sucker was out on his feet in the last round, and got a boxing lesson, thats why he lost the damn fight Hatton nuthuggers.
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
The knockdown was lucky punch that caught Collazo on his heels, he looked at the ref sttraight away after he hit the floor and showed he wasnt hurt. Collazo landed the better cleaner punches throughout the fight whilst Ricky was content to walk straight forward, straight back and get hit constantly. Hatton showed nothing thats gonna make him a superstar in America. I saida while back that Ricky was only Frank Warrens 'golden cow', I think Frank knew Rickys level and thats why he fought lightweights and hand picked aging welters most of his career in Manchester. Now Hattons went to the US and been exposed in my opinion.

Are you joking.. If anything Ledermans scorecard was the best you could possibly have it for Hatton.. 114-113 and that's obviously counting the 10-8 round.. Even still he gave a couple rounds to Hatton that I though could have been Collazo, definetly one was at least a 10-10 round imo. The rounds Collazo won on that scorecard were completely clear , and considering how the fight we't Hatton's KD certainly shouldnt mean more than how badly Collazo hurt Hatton in the 12th, even if it wasn't a 10-8 round Hatton certainly didn't come across as a winner at the final bell after getting beat up out on his feet in the final round.
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
His face always looks like tenderized meat. Then again, Collazo's teeth probably don't retract so they must always give him the can opener look. Touche!
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
[/quote]Your wrong, there was one knock down (and that was a flash knockdown). He was aggressive sure. Anyone that leads with their face is aggressive but what does that prove....He was thouroughly outboxed, only set the pace when Collazo let him threw on average 2.4 punches per round more and showed no boxing skills. Hatton held constantly, hit Collazo with numerous punches to the back of the head and hit on the breaks. The only thing hatton did better than Collazo was in the getting hurt category. Hatton was going down and held on..should have been a 10-8 round in the 12th......Hatton needs to stay over in europe because the only thing he's going to get here are beatdowns....did you not see AHatton's face? Collazo was fine.....Did you not see Hatton's family? Even they knew he lost the fight......

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Bear in mind I only listened to the fight on the radio but Collazo didn't seem to hurt when knocked down but apparently he was pretty stunned at the end of the second. How hurt was he ?
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Collazo was never hurt. NEver anything like Hatton was hurt a couple times.
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Never anything like that 12th round

those announcers were watching a different fight. Collazo was never hurt or even stunned.....Hatton was wobbled a few times...and was out on his feet in the 12th....no way he won that fight....
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Hatton was out on his feet????IS that why collazo was running away?

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Yank boxing is on the slide ;)
Euro fighters are pretty much kicking your behinds.
Look at the Heavies, then theres Calzaghe making a prick out of Lacy.
And Mr Hatton of course.
Some of you US Idiots honestly can't accept that the Big US hold on the fight game is not what it used to be.
I find it f*ck hillarious and so do senior members of this site ;)
Deal with it in an adult manner or at least try to accept this unequivical and undeniable fact.

And the fact that Judah and Mayweather can both beat Hatton is a factor as well :)
Mr Hatton lost tonight. And not just the fight, he lost his sell, his aura of invincibility, his edge.... its gone...disappeared...
Me bets he fights a stand in front guy to look good against ;D Because these um... "boxers" seem to give him trouble :lickish:

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
True and you knows it mate ;D salhadin
They (Some not all) of our yank friend always have to slate our fighters but why can't they sat "well done Ricky and Collazo was game and put up a wicked performance"?
I can admit that Hatton was hanging and just scraped it by a point due to the round one 8/10.
They don't like losing and ALWAYS turn it into a transatlantic war
BAD BAD BAD losers

Yes and if Collazo had gotten the decision like he rightfully deserved you wouldn't be as modest ;)

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Since you guys think he is invincible would you like to see him against delahoya or PBf in his next fight? that would be beautiful because oscar would rock his world and then retire with his last two fight won by way of ko.

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
First of all, we're gonna be seeing more of Collazo in the future. He's a lot better than people give him credit for. Secondly, I have no idea why you're bringing Judah up in this. Judah has nothing to offer Ricky. I hope Mayweather is foolish enough to man up and fight Ricky. Hatton stepped up to 147 (something I didn't think was a great idea) in weight and beat the champ. It's over and in the books. That's 3 champions and 3 fights. I've been waiting a long time for him to come over here to the states and put an a** whoppin' on some of our loud mouth punks (and Collazo sure sounded like a punk in the post fight interview). Hatton has class and absolutely no fear. He could have fought a much easier opponent tonight, but he didn't. He fought a naturally bigger man, fought straight ahead and STILL won. Styles make fights folks and the last time I looked Ricky Hatton has won 3 belts and is still UNDEFEATED.
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
If you truly believe that styles make fights then why did you say Judah has nothing to offer to Ricky when he is faster more explosive hits harder and has a better counter punching defense then Collazo ???
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Here come the hatton followers Thank you, i was alone for a sec

i always say what i see and if Ricky does'nt get another dimension to his style and fights PBF the way he did Collazo earlier the PBF will toy with him then batter him silly.
i Love Hatton and have followed him for years but he's tailor made for Floyd if he does what he did earlier.
hate to say it but it's so true.
Head movement and 100 times more lateral movement are all he's lacking.
If he does'nt adress this issue then it's simply target practice for Mayweather. O0

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Let me clarify the judah comment. Judah doesn't have a belt or good stock at the moment (plus he can't fight for a year or something ridiculous). I'm a big believer in Judah when he believes in himself. I meant something to attract Hatton to the fight.
As far as hatton's style, I don't think it lends well to fighting a naturally bigger men (at least with gloves on ;). He comes straight ahead. Against a large opponent that will take its toll a lot faster than someone Hatton's size. Hatton's major advantages are his strength, toughness, endurance and aggressiveness (don't his defensive ability). It's not a style that translates as well if you're going up in weight. A talented boxer would do much better going up in weight because he relies on not getting hit as much. To some degree, Ricky takes one to give one. He likes to bang it out. That doesn't work as you fight larger/stronger opponents. That doesn't mean that style won't work at his natural weight. Most men his size can't take it.
As far as Floyd goes, I refuse to conceed he can beat anyone. I can't stand him. If he couldn't talk, I might like him.

Its like Steward said...
This guy was tougher for hatton cuz he's naturally Bigger
Judah/ Mayweather/ Gatti are NOT naturally stronger so hatton can impose the 3 things you mentioned on all of them..
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
it's like Stewart said
"Well to tell the truth I was scared for Ricky when he signed the fight because I had a feeling that he would be getting exposed like this against Collazo"
:)
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Exposed?? He won....
Mayweather got exposed in rounds 1-4 against Judah...
-
Re: Hatton lost the fight?
Mayweather adapted. Hatton seemed content with blocking punches with his face :)

....man are you fucking serious.....you cant be....i hope your not. Mayweather won that fight...hatton did not win this one. Hatton thought he could walk through collazo and collazo pretty much said "BULLSHIT" and hatton had no plan B. He brawled against Maussa and Tszyu and had some help of the refs who let him hold and wrestle until his heat was content...thought the US would accept it and he was wrong.

It's hard to look at the Heavy's. Every time I do, Audley Harrison and Danny Williams make me laugh. If the US loses it's hold on boxing, it will give way to Mexico, Tiawan, or whoever. But it won't be the Euro's. You can't be number one, when most of your fighters have no heart. There mostly all just show and flash. When it gets exposed. They run and hide. Hamed, Vitali. And so on.

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
I think it was 114-113 to Hatton, i have to say it was the hardest fight i have ever seen Ricky have. Coming into the 4th rd Ricky seemed to have lost his spirit. Normally there is a twinkle in his eyes but i saw very little if none in this fight. I admit i havent seen much of Collazo but he impressed me last night , he took what Ricky had to offer and to be honest didnt seem to worried. Infact he looked pretty good when the final bell rang, and he took the result like a true gent. People were saying before the fight that Collazo is hard to look good against and i think this rings true for Ricky. Like the Joe and Lacey fight, it wasnt the Lacey i was expecting to see turn up that night and last night it wasnt the Ricky i expected to see.
If he is going to prove himself to the U.S. then he is going to have to have much more clean-cut results.
I have watched and been a Hatton fan for 11 yrs but to be honest he scraped though this one. An i am not to ashamed to admit i was scared for him at times thoughout this fight.
On another note Hatton has plenty of heart just not in last nights fight. ;)

Re: Hatton lost the fight?
not in this fight???????? the last round hatton cAME on stronger after he got his legs back, hes a true warrior
