I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but......
Honestly, all of you who talked all that shat about Hatton being so good, now what is your excuse? Now do you think he can beat Oscar or Floyd? or even a top welter or Jr. middle? I thought that his size would make him an easy candidate? Tell me now what you think cuz Callazo was fookin' robbed!
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Their excuse is the weight, that Collazo was a southpaw, that Collazo is the second best welterweight in the world, and that Collazo htis harder then Mayweather and Judah.
All those excuses have been cited within the last 24 hours ;D

Collazo isn't even in the same level as PBF or Judah, so WTF do they mean?
Can someone please explain this to me? Collazo is not that good but yet he won the fight and got robbed wtf?
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Now Northside, who are you to talk about excuses? I remember plenty of Zab Judah discussions where every other post was an excuse.
Either way welcome back/
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
I think Collazo's style caused Ricky problems more than anything else. Ricky didn't work like he usually does.
I take nothing away from Collazo but he lost.

I did not give Judah an excuse for his fight with PBF so what are you talkin' bout?

Judah - Tszyu ;)
Anyways, I think underestimating his opponent is a legit excuse in this case but I doubt you'll get Hatton to admit it.

Now what do you think about Hatton/Judah, Hatton/PBF or Hatton/DLH?
OK
Hatton-Judah: this all depends on which Zab comes to fight. Zab COULD easily outpoint Ricky by staying on his bicycle and using his speed. BUT seeing how Zab "Lord of the Dance" Judah takes people lightly on a regular basis I see Ricky hurting him to the head and body and the ref stops the fight. But this could run the gammit from draw to Ricky via KO or Zab via KO. A GOOD match up of styles because Zab doesn't like pressure fighters and Ricky apparently doesn't like slick boxers.
Hatton-PBF: Right now or in the future I see PBF winning via TKO cuts. Now the crux of the fight is whether Ricky can land on Floyd, I think he's a longshot to KO PBF based on the wide punches he threw but also based on the work he USUALLY does inside I think he could KO Floyd if, IF he fights correctly. Worse comes to worse it's a boring fight with PBF jumping in and out landing at will and Ricky swinging for the fences.
Hatton-ODH: Biggest mismatch of the bunch. Ricky is trying to get used to 147 and ODH has been hit by Trinidad and Hopkins and he LOVES guys who try to brawl. Oscar wins via TKO just like vs Vargas or Mayorga but earlier.
The BEST matchups at this time are as follows.
Hatton-Gatti
Hatton-Cotto
Hatton-Baldomir

Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Zab never used the excuse od underestimating Tszyu. Zab said himself that Tszyu caught him with a good shot and that he was hurt and didn't know what was going on so he takes his hat off to tszyu. it's like that incredible hulk thing he talked about before the fight he had went back to david banner ;)

your right I did have what you call excuses for that fight, but there sure was a reason Kostya never remtched, hhmmmmmm!

Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
It's not that he SAYS he takes them lightly, he carries himself like he's taking those guys lightly. VS Tszyu, he has his hands down as always but backed up CARELESSLY (straight back) which Tszyu picked up on and BANG end of night for Zab. VS Spinks I he waited and waited and WAAAAITED to throw punches...it's almost like he thought Cory's head would magnetically attract his fists...he GAVE THAT FIGHT AWAY which really btohered me and then he had the GALL to talk shit about the decision....what a bastard
You can read Zab's body language JUST like Shane Mosley's...you can tell when they are beaten or when they will be beat.

I agree he did give away fights & looked lazy like he wasn't really into the sport

That hands down style was how Judah had always fought to that point. He did the same against ward and still won all but 1 round

Yeah but you know I'mma a Judah fan & I believe that he has more talent than he brings to the ring as if he isn't 100% dedicated to the sport
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Hatton should go back down and also take on Raheem, freitas & Castillo

I agree...he's the biggest waste of natural talent since friggin, anyone I can think of. I also dislike Zab's since of entitlement....that's his problem, I mean is Floyd gonna give you the fight? NO is Tszyu gonna be AFRAID of you after 1 round? Is Spinks gonna let you nail him with your hardest punch? NOPE.
If Zab had Ricky's heart he'd have beat PBF and he'd be the #1 p4p fighter hands down.
Hatton just needs to get used to the weight, he'll be fine, he's a hard worker and a good fighter.

I believe he still hasn't reached his potential, and the fact that he still can is what keeps me watching but I really think he should leave his dad as a trainer and learn something new.

He needs to lose the attitude and be a fucking man and not a cry baby...take responsibility for short comings in the gym and in the ring instead of choking Jay Nady

Underestimating you r opponent is NEVER a good excuse. Hes a pro and should come in 100% preparded everytime.I said the same about zab and i say the same for hatton

You DO know what Zab has done for Nady since then and what he still does to this day whenever him and Jay are in the same place?

they are true though :P
except the last bit about him being the best and how hard he hits, Hatton has a good chin!

Well I thought the same about Judah. Whatever. I think it's impossible to train just as hard for a Luis Collazo or a Carlos Baldomir opposed to a Kostya Tszyu or Floyd Mayweather.
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Guess thats what makes Mayweather number 1 p4p, he would train for a Baldomir or Collazo like he would train for a Delahoya
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Hatton won that fight, i'm tired of people saying he lost,
You say he lost cuz you wish he did, He won that fight.....Even Leddermen said so

Would you rather had been Hatton in that fight or Callazo....honestly?

You really go by Leddermen's scorecard rather then your own ???
Oh thast right you think Collazo hits harder then Judah and Mayweather ;D
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Everyone should stay off Judah's nutsack for a while until he comes back and wins a fight. He's just lost 2 fights. He doesn't deserve to be given this sort of P4P attention until he wins.
You won't have to wait too long. After his suspension is up, he'll probably fight a bum in a warm up fight and then be thrown into an eliminator or a title against a name for short money.
I agree that he should sack his father. Yoel appears to foster and encourage Zab's character problems, craves the limelight, talks smack and appears to offer nothing in the way of good advice during fights.
Zab's 28, probably too late to change his stripes. He needs to develop a blue collar work ethic to go with his talent, ditch the hip-hop mag lifestyle and the hype men and team up with a trainer who's authority he defers to.
-
Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but.........................................
Why the heck are you people talking about Judah still? He got what he deserved with the ban,he's lost 4 of 7 and as far as I'm concerned,he is out of the picture. He did not deserve the shot at the Pretty Boy,got it,blew it,game over.
Secondly,STYLES MAKES FIGHT.Hatton fought someone he knew was going to give him trouble, fought him and beat him. Yeah,he should give him a rematch because he was not as impressive as he should have been but he won.
Oh and Judah can have all the trainers in the world but he does not have the mental edge and if you do not have that, you can never be a real warrior. Also,I read(sprry if I'm mistaken)that Tszyu should have given him a rematch, that is some silly point, why give a rematch to someone who took 2 rounds to figure out and who you nearly left seriously damaged. When you hear Judah spout shit like he thinks he's P4P number 1 after the Floyd fight, you wonder whether that shot from TSZYU LEFT PERMANENT damage. He also scared when he gets hit hard and goes on the D/runs for the remainder of the fight(Baldomir and to an extent Floyd fight)

Agreed...& the only reason that Judah & Hatton should even be mentioned together is that Hatton destroyed the man that devastated Judah. ;D

Re: I'm not bashing Ricky Hatton but......
I haven't seen the fight yet, but have Some of you ever heard the expression "A bad day at the office" ???
So he didn't look great in THIS fight, but he is 41-0 hardly lost a round in most of his fights & dethroned a legend less than a year ago!!
Don't judge the guy on 36 minutes of his career FFS!!!

You do know that fighters have tapes and prepare for styles right ??? Mayweather KNEW that Judah would give him trouble so he developed a plan. Something Hatton didn't have ;)

Then how can you even make a comment. I can see whatever opinion you give will be bias. There have been just as many people on this site who have said he looked bad as there are who said he had a bad day and you choose to make that comment without even seeing the fight. Why couldn't he had just LOOKED BAD. Watch the fight first.

A fighter doesn't become a bad fighter overnight!!!
I was commenting on his previous 40 fights of which I have seen most - so whatever he looked like in this fight is irrelevant in the context of what I said!!
He could've got bashed up for every second of every round it still would not make me forget his previous fights.

Never said he became bad just said he looked bad. I too am looking at his previous 40 fights where he fought D,C,and C+ in his first 38 fights(remember that was the big if about hatton)then beat an A fighter in tszyu just to good back to C level fighters in Maussa and Collazo. Trust this ain't about just one fight.

Maussa and Collazo were World Champions, regardless of what you think of them!
Hatton has won 3 world titles in less than a year - deserves a bit more credit imo.

I'd like to interject this...I buy into what both of you have to say.
I have doubts about Hatton based on his previous opposition...but he does deserve credit for beating the champions that he beat...even though only one of them actually stands out as a real champ in the majority of our minds...that one being Kostya...but that aint really fair to Collazo is it?
Oh yeah...& Maussa...but we all know that fwocker got lucky! ;D
You both have good points...seriously.
