Is it me or do the new posters seem to know nothing about boxing?

just something i noticed

Query how "new" many of these posters are (vs. existing members creating new handles so they can be obnoxious and rant without worrying about being reasonable). Just a hunch.

i wondered the same thing after i made the topic...

To be fair i member when i was new and thought i would get the same criticsm simply becuase of this. But i didnt.....so feel free to slate away lol ;)

I think everyone in there own way is biased towards there own fighter, the fighter they like the most, who they want to win, but there are a few poeple on this forum who are plain Haters and dont post through there knowledge of Boxing but through there hate of the boxer or boxers in question.

Overall the majority on this site and very good posters and i feel alot of them are very knowledgable and i pick up some good information on this site, through there knowledge.

I think that I know nothing about boxing .... or anything, in fact.

This forum was much better before I joined, and I am disappointed to be a part of anything that let's people like me join.

When I first joined this site, it was my first boxing site other then boxrec and I thought I knew a lot, needless to say I was cut down almost immediately by some of the more knowledgable members here and now I hope I'm one of those knowledgable members and that's how the process works. Basically, people come here to learn. Naturally, someone who is new is not going to be as knowledgable as he would be if he put in the time some of us do. IMO, this is the most knowledgable boxing board on the internet, and new members help keep it that way by sitting back and learning like I and so many others did. Come up off your soapbox dude because....you haven't shared the abundance of knowledge that you claim to have with us yet. You make some good post and I wonder how you got your CC/SC ratio and then I see some more of your post where you are just ignorant to no end. Hope no new members take this jackass seriously.

This is a great forum, and very welcoming. You're right, we gain a lot of knowledge from the more 'experienced' guys on this board. But I do feel the guy who started this thread has some ppoint here, there have been a couple of random people on recently, like the guy who shits on LL and the guy with a hard on for Kessler, everyone has a right to express tgheir opinion I suppose.

See i thought I knew a lot about boxing. Within my first 5 posts, Britkid came flying along and in the nicest way possible put me in my place. This forum is definitely full of some of the most knowledgable boxing fans i've ever encountered, one day I hope I'm close to guys like Britkid and the like.

I had been away from boxing for (jaded i guess) almost 20 years. The contender came (Sly, Sugar) on, and I became interested again. My knowledge of the newer fighters isn't that great, but I'm learning them. And I appreciate the members of the forum, for their patients and understanding. However piss me off and I'll look it up. ;)

Actually I'm probably the most knowledgeble person on here. I've never been wrong about anything ever, not one prediction wrong and all my opinions are always well thought out, balanced and researched.

It's not just here either, I know more about stuff than anyone I've ever met. Everyone I meet is always wrong and their opinions suck.

I see myself as analagous to Lancelot in that I travel the world, well geeky internet forums at any rate looking for an intellectual (I'm no good with a sword :P) superior.

To date I've not met anyone capable of holding my jockstrap but I will continue my search, hopefull of eventually meeting someone with the same brilliant mind as myself.



Edit. Damn X just got one over on me on the Greatest Robbery thread, guess I've met my match. Typical I've been bested the moment I trumpeted my own trumpet. :-[

I hope you weren't talking about me seeing as how i started the topic, because if i offended you that wasn't my intention..if you'll notice i didn't name any particular poster..i just made a statement and that was that..

by not naming any names i let the age old statement of "if the shoe fits, wear it" speak for itself..and those that got offended must have felt like the topic was posted towards them... so again if you were offended then oh well..that shoe must fit nicely, that is if you were offended... ;D

Agreed completely Sal. Not to boast, but we seem to be better then most forums in terms of knowing how to state an argument without resorting to personal insults. Boxrec has to be the absolute worst at that as some people there seem to have a genuine hatred for other members. Then there is boxingscene but I like that site so I'll cut it some slack. Don't know to much about Eastside and Doghouse.

Ive been here over a year and picked joe by UD . But i can see what they saw in lacy, brute force and calzaghe hadnt exactly stepped up his competition in quite a while.
