anyone know who he is fighting in July? :detective:
Sherlock holmes ???
No word as yet as i think every fighter within his weight span is terrified of him after what he did to Lacy 8)
Warren needs to get his skates on because It's under 7 weeks away and i won't be going if it's a mediocre opponent!!!
Shoulda waited on till the winner of Taylor/Wright was free 8)
I'd have liked to have seen him fight stateside too.
Agreed...this is getting a bit ridiculous. What was the word the last time out that you interviewed him? Was he going to be in the gym regardless?Quote:

I expect his next fight will be at light heavy against somebody virtually unknown.
After watching Clinton Woods midweek a huge domestic matchup between the two could be an enticing prospect next year.
Calzaghe would certainly have his work cut out with Clinton, he's improved markedly in the last couple years.
yeah woods would be a good fight, just that woods said he is after glencofe again!
He'll beat this time around. Then the Calzaghe fight would be a mouthwatering prospect.Quote:

Perfect, he has been preparing for both of their styles and gives them 7 weeks to prepare perfect opportunity to fight a name beat them and have a name on your resume.
It seems he is setting up for a squash match. I hope not but its under 7 weeks which is under 2 months. Whoever he chooses is someone he's been preparing for since he made the date, but that hasn't been preparing for him.
This info i have is based on one source on the Kostya forum, who claims to have an inside source. I cant guarantee its authentic because he's a relatively new member. But i do believe he's telling the truth, not over the top or anything, very matter-of-fact approach. Apparently there is already a "verbal agreement" in place for the winner to face Joe.
Only about 6-7 hours till we find out the truth... :dontknow:
By the way im tipping Mundine wins by a 10th round stopage :jabbing:
I thought the winner of that fight was fighting Kessler?
Yo spree, didnt know you posted here too. Mundine gonna whoop green ;) Ive also read that post about calzaghe being there to challenge the winner...it would be unfair coz you cant prepare for calzaghe in 7 weeks. I think mundine would have the best chance against calzaghe coz green/calzaghe would just be like lacy/calzaghe.Quote:

Joe has spent years fighting handpicked foes and it appears that nothing has changed because I have never even heard him say the name Mikkel Kessler
The Green - Mundine fight is for the WBA mandatory spot, so Kess has to face to winner.Quote:

I'm trying to get a stream of Mundine/Green. Any Ideas? I haven't looked forward to an Australian fight this much in years. I'll go out on a limb and pick Greek TKO 7. If he's at the level he was in the 1st Beyer fight he will get to Mundine and I don't think Choc can take his power.
He'll have to be patient because Mundine will be hard to find. I read somewhere that Paul Briggs stopped Mundine in the gym 6 weeks ago when Mundine was preparing for the original date. Briggs said Mundine is still vulnerable to pressure and Green is significantly bigger and by far the bigger puncher of the two.
If Mundine tries to stand in front of Green he'll get stopped, if Green tries to box Mundine he'll get sliced up with the Jab. Each man mustn't stray from his gameplan if he is to win
LMAO!! I havent laughed that hard for a couple of weeks!!Quote:

Here's one that you may not have come across, but I've heard a wee rumour that Colombian Middleweight Edison Miranda is set to pull out of his fight with Arthur Abraham for the IBF middleweight title in order to step up to Super Middleweight and take on Wales' finest.
Personally, if it does happen I suspect it will be just another Evans Ashira who comes up and won't have enough power to beat Calzaghe, despite his respectable record.
If I could choose a dream schedule for Calzaghe, it would run along the lines of:
Summer date: Further Unification with Kessler...Beyer's washed up but if Kessler won't then I'd settle for Beyer.
Autumn Fight: Battle of Britain as Calzaghe steps up to light heavy to fight Clinton Woods for his IBF title....I see Calzaghe taking this on points, just by volume of punches.
Spring Unification fight of his new light heavy title against Tarver....definitely the toughest fight of his career on paper, but if he gets through it....
Showpiece 2007 Summer defence of his unified titles, against someone who won't cause him too much trouble, back home in the Millenium Stadium,
and a graceful exit, stage left, to a comfortable retirement, or perhaps coaching, mentoring younger boxers down in the Bridgend gym?
Fair go Skel, Australians always have to put up with Brits getting excited about shitty English domestic fights we couldn't give a shit about and bigging up Clinton Woods for beating up our club fighters.
Mundine Green is a fight between legitimate contenders. They are both a fair bit better than Carl Froch IMO. Maybe they wouldn't do much good with Calzaghe but not many around would.
If Clinton Woods wants to fight an Australian light heavy he should fight Paul Briggs.
anthony mundine won tonight guys, completely outclassed danny green with a unamoius points desision.
anythony mundine is as good as anybody in his division except for maybe joe calzaghe.
Did you see the Kessler beat down on Mundine by any chance??Quote:

I guess my "source" was dead wrong. Sorry guys, didnt mean to mislead you, but Calzaghe was nowhere to be found. ;D Hate those damn forum pests dont you? ;D
Mundine did dominate Green tonight, and show sooooooooooo much improvement its scary. Remember, he took up boxing in 2000 and had NO amatuer career, every fight he has he improves tremendously. With his dad Tony Mundine Snr and Roy Jones Sr in his corner, the future is looking bright for Anthony :)
Nope. I'm not stupid...but jangeorg ARE.Quote:

No I didn't believe what Warren says...I never do...I just listened to what Kessler's people said & paid attention to the fact that his promoters have been trying to secure a fight with someone else.
So I believe that we can stick to the fact that jangeorg ARE stupid & Kessler ARE NOT king of the Super Middleweight division...yet.
Also...don't try to talk about Calzaghe facing hand picked opponents when Kessler's opposition is as bad if not worse.
I want to see the beatdown Mundine put on Green.
Thats what Danny gets for poppin off at the mouth to his crowd saying "who wants to see Anthony Mundine get knocked out?" well he got his royal arse handed to him didn't he ;D
I agree... I JUST WANT TO SEE THAT FIGHT!!!! ;DQuote:

Now i'm aware i may be one-eyed in my support of Kessler. But i'm really wondering if this "new story" (of Kessler outpricing himself) is anything but a convenient claim by Warren - or even just the speculations of the columnist.
Thing is Calzaghe has shown no intention of wanting to fight Kessler at this time at all (whereas Kessler has been outspoken about wanting to fight Calzaghe). In fact the few times Calzaghe has mentioned Kessler. He's rather directly said that at this time they aren't even considering fighting Kessler.
So i'm just curious if you've got some insider information that makes you so sure that Kessler's demands are too much.
So if you have some information that i should know to make up an informed opinion about this matter - please share.
spreeul8er, makes some good points about mundine having no amatuer career and being fairly new to the boxing game being a former football star,he will continue to improve and he is the real deal.
not too many people around the world have been a great success in 2 different sports in there lifetime, mundines pretty special.
Miranda would not pull out of the Abraham fight to go up in weight and fight Calzaghe unless the money was sick. We already know that $1.5 million is too much to pay for other worthy opponents, so they aren't gonna pay anything close to that for Miranda. A win over Abraham puts Miranda in a better place than a win over Calzaghe, plus Abraham to me is a MUCH easier win.Quote:

Starr, don't be down on Green for wanting asking if people wanted to see Mundine knocked out. 75% of the Australian public wanted to see Mundine knocked out by another Australian. It gets complicated when Mundine fights a foreigner because you don't want to be unpatriotic and barrack for the other guy.
Very few people divide Australia like Mundine. He's got a big following among Aboriginal people, Muslims (Turks, Lebanese etc in Sydney) and some of the Rugby League community. Everyone who's not a big fan can't stand him. IMO he's an idiot. The only things he has going for him are his talent and his committment to aboriginal issues. Every other time he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it with his retard rapping/Ali impersonations
Fair play to him though for a great performance. Like I said, he's a great talent. Probably not able to deal with Calzaghe or Kessler but more competitive than almost anyone else. He'd easily take Beyer would be competitive with Lacy and would humiliate most of the other American super middles I've seen.
