Soliman's style would make just about anyone look bad...he throws ackward punches and a ton of them....great wind....good fighter....don't count out wright..he still won that fight....Quote:

boom boom ill give you that, fine it happens but its soesn not affect my prediction, you guys seem to have a hatred for taylor why?
styles just make fights thats all--its an overused cliche but its true.........look, winky dominated tito but tito would have killed soliman inside of a couple rounds..........all that wild swinging,,it would have been like the mayorga fight for tito except a quicker kayo............winky just doent have the power to hurt anybody and if you are in great shape like soliman and throw punches form all over the place u have a shot b/c u know winky cant hurt you
People said that Winky looked bad against Mosley in that rematch so that Trinidad should walk through him. Did that happen ??? First off Winky had the flu, second off, I don't expect Taylor to throw 100 punches a round and use angles.
I hate to break it to you people...but WInky looked damned good against Soliman.
Soliman throws a lot but what he landed...which as very VERY little wasnt shit!
Taylorfan...you need to watch the fight again...this time...smack Jermain on his hip so that you can come up for air & see the television.
Exactly. I've said this every time someone tries to act like the Winky/Soliman fight was close just because Soliman threw (and missed) over a thousand punches. Impressive cardiovascular endurance does not equal impressive boxing. Winky won the fight easily, if unflashily.Quote:

What makes me laugh...most people refuse to deal with the facts of CompuBox.
It was the same thing with the Hopkins Taylor I match up...people refuse to listen to their eyes alone...much less a punch counter.
Anywho...Soliman threw an amazing number of punches...some 1260 of 'em. The thing is this...I could throw 1260 baseballs...but if I were in a ball game & only 14% of my balls made it home...I should be playing little league softball...or the worst game of dodgeball known to mankind.
Winky threw 652 punches...a lot less than Soliman but he landed 300 of the ones that he threw...Soliman landed about 175.
Yeah...Soliman really showed out.
Wright's defense was so on point that out of 350 or so jabs only 10 or 15 % of those made it home.
The only thing that Soliman did was where himself out...which leads me back to the main reason that I love Winky Wright...tactical, technical, & always on point.
Those belts that Taylor keeps trying to tug up to fit his waist were made for a man...he's about to lose to one & pass those belts on to a grown man that deserves them. ;D
Agreed. :coolclick: #199.Quote:

I disagree slightly, even though I back Winky to win,JT does have 1 thing in his favour, the size. That is the only thing I think could cause Winky problems,he may not have tasted that power before however I shall indeed do the honours of giving you your 200th cool click! Congrats bro!
i think sam soliman thinks if you throw the most punches you win,i dont think he realises your actually supposed to make contact with the person while punching, poor aussie battler, lol.
I think that Wright is going to surprise you chaps.Quote:

Wright has a beard & Wright has faced adversity & worked through it. People act like Wright has no power...he does.
Did anyone pay close attention to Taylor after the 10th in the first Hopkins match? Go back & watch it. Watch him fold, watch him buckle...Wright will not let him off the hook like HOpkins did.
Honestly...Wright being my favorite aside...it'd be better for boxing if Taylor wins...but I'm a selfish bitch...I wanna see my bwoy get payback for all the years of work he's put in.
haha have one back, not that you need them.Quote:

well taylor look bad REALLY bad against Hopkins.....twice...so bad that i thought he lost both fightsQuote:

Aslo most people who have fought Sam have had a hell of a time hitting him. He generally sees punches coming very early. This suggest that Wright is quick to the punch and deadly accurate.
The ONLY way i can see Taylor winning is if he can imposwe his size on Winky. If he's not super physical he'll get shut out IMO.
But do you know how many he landed of those 100 thrown?Quote:

Its not a hatred for Taylor, but a like for Winky. Taylor is a good fighter, but imho he fights like a good amateur. He didnt judge the hopkins fights so he shouldnt be blamed for getting the decisions. But Winky is a elite fighter and very ring smart. I just dont see Taylor on his levelQuote:

Sure Taylor looked bad against Hopkins, but he still looked better than anyone else has in what seems to have been forever. Also IMO the Hopkins that fought Taylor is near to or on the same level skill wise as Winky I don't think the issue is can Taylor withstand the skill outright, but can he handle Hopkins level of skill that throws at least 4 times as many punches it seems will be the question, and can he with his long body and arms punch around WInky's guard or can he muscle through WInky's guard. IMO Winky is as strong as anybody at 160 and probably 168 as well... IN training allegedly he is as strong as Lacy and can move him(Lacy) back.
With a punch? I'm not saying you're wrong, but it's surprising--I mean, why doesn't he ever put anyone on the canvas then? By choice?Quote:

You know what I mean--he hasn't knocked too many of his opponents down, let alone out. Soliman was about ready to fall on his own by the end of that fight too with all the swinging at air he'd been wearing himself out with.
Soliman threw more punches in 100 degree whether in Las Vegas Nevada then he did inside that ring, Soliman rarely if ever gets tired. Winky just has accuracy and his accuracy and speed is his power because he can catch you the right way. And he wears people down with body shots and he put Robert Frazier down didn't he ;)
Let me put it to you this way: are you picking Winky by KO/TKO over Taylor?Quote:

taylor's going to win ;D
Nobody throws a harder jab p4p IMO... Winky throws all the punches that usually don't get knockouts short cross, jab, body right hooks, quick uppercuts. He doesn't ever get all his power behind his punches IMO because he's about controlling his opponent before anything else. He might have not put anyone on the canvas but he's hurt almost everyone I've seen him fight at some point or another.Quote:
