Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder

Amir Khan has thrown down an audacious challenge to pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather as he prepares for his seventh professional test in Belfast tomorrow night.
The bullish Bolton teenager believes he has mastered the four-round distance to such an extent he could give the American superstar a run for his money - and would even cross the Atlantic to prove it.
Khan is brimming with confidence after a dazzling start to his professional career, which extends to seven fights against Hungarian Laszlo Komjathi at a sold-out King's Hall.
Khan said: 'Talent-wise I am already one of the best fighters in the world over four rounds. I would love to have four rounds with Mayweather. I am as quick if not quicker than him and I can sustain a fast pace.'
I would definitely like to fight in the US soon and show what I can do

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
I heard them mention this on ITV.
Amir clearly has too many yes men round him. The boys got potential, but someone needs to smack him back down to earth, hopefully it can come from an uncle or a daddy rather than in the ring.

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
I hope just for the hell of it Mayweather takes this in August then fihgts in september, and beats Khan up like nobody's business.

You can imagine it cant you.
Floyd "On September the 16th I will beat Oscar De La Hoya. Not only this, on the undercard I will beat Amir Khan because he challenged me like a fool." ;D

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Khan is off his nut.....he would be outclassed by any good world fighter at the moment
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
This is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard.
Audacious would be "I've mastered the four-rounder, I'm ready to fight a full 12-round fight now, and I'm so confident I want the #1 P4P boxer there."
Absurd is: "I've mastered the four-rounder, but I'm not ready for a 12-round professional fight yet. Nonetheless, I'm so great in four-round beginner matches that I'm challenging the P4P best fighter in the world to fight a four-round beginner match against me.

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Mastered the 4 rounder. You know Mayweather has masteredt he 20 rounder. Which means to him, 4 rounds is like one round. 4 rounds is still 4 rounds to Amir. Mayweather would utterly outclass and destroy Khan.
Seriously in his 7th fight he is sounding like Hamed already.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Butterbean was a 4 round king but he got beat in a 12 round match by a 50 year old Larry Holmes ;D

it's because he is getting too much attention, via ITV and sold out arena's.
He needs to be brought back to earth

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
zab DOMINATED PBF in 4, kahn would get KTFO :D :D :D
so much for that shit i read about him not wanting to overhyoe himslef ;D
he really lost credibility with such a rediculous statement, that makes him look scared to go longer with a real fighter ;D

Nothing that a good knockdown wouldn't teach him ;D

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
hehe....don't worry, it'll happen soon enough ;)
Did you see the fight tonight Star?
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
No, but I see a bunch of openings on Khan when I saw one of his fights thanks to Smashup. How did he look tonight? Ready for Mayweather ::** Let's keep in mind if Mayweather was fighting the guys now that Amir is fighting that Mayweather would just point and insult them and they'd fall down ;D

here's my post on the other thread:
not impressed by Khan tonight
he was too sloppy when he came inside, his defence needs working on and he needs to pick his punches alot better....he thought he could just roll over the guy with these quick flurries but they weren't even going through the opponent's guard. All that did was waste energy.
He also hasn't got much power, he's still young but there are alot of improvements that need to be made.
All the showboating was irrelevent, all he managed to do was get hit.....He thinks he has the reflexes of Roy Jones but that is not the case.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
See, when Naz did that kind of thing there was always a plan behind it. Sounds like with Khan he didn't have a plan other then to look spectacular etc.... he keeps talking and overhyping himself he will be back to reality really quick, he's begging to get knocked down, hope it happens so he can sharpen up.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
I don't think Zmir was being serious just a tongue in cheek comment. I'm sure everyone here has said stuff like that, e.g get all dressed up for a night out and say something like 'Right lets go show this town what we're all about!' or goddam I'm looking good tonight!
It doesn't really mean you think Scarlet Johannson is about to swoon at your feet :P
Regarding his performace tonight though he really needs to tighten up his defense. I think a compact tidy fighter whit a good defense and clever will give him problems.
Kevin Mitchell would beat him right now I think.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
There's a reason why title fights are 12 rounds! But I think that Khan was just messing and didn't expect people to actually take it seriously. But to be fair, if I was Khan or his trainer or manager, you could do a lot worse than going and sparring with PBF for a while. Give's you a glimpse at what it takes to be a world champ at what its like at the top of the mountain. Also PBF is an absolute professional when it comes to his pre-fight prep/training, and hopefully that would rub off on Khan.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Given how I'm hearing Khan looked, and given how the comment sounded, he is getting too overconfident in himself.
"You are forever the worst until you beat the best."
That is some humble advice he should follow.

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
He show boated once or twice but he didn't look like a clown the Naz and he wasn't disrespectful like Naz... was more of a SRL type of thing...
I think getting knocked down (not out) would do the lad the world of good... Barry Mcguinin keeps telling him to keep his gloves up but he won't fecking listen to him.. he got caught today because he either went for stupid shots or because his gloves weren't there.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Naz had reason behind his showboating to set up easier shots to get his opponent to lead. Khan just seems to have been showboating for the sake of showboating and got caught.

But that is the point of these fights. People don't seem to understand he is a BOY. He looks to have massive potential, the only problem is he is loved way to freaking much. Most boxers at that age are just allowed to get in the ring, do what they have to do and get out in front of a half-full arena.
Khan on the other hand, every round he fights people treat as if its a world championship round, so you can surly see why hes starting to act the way he is acting, and starting to do the things he done tonight.
Personally, i think the best thing for his fights to be in the USA for the next couple of years. Let him learn to fight without all the freaking hype around him, let him learn to fight without a packed arena screaming him on like their lives depended on it. Let the boy develop into a man.
I think if warren sent him out there now, he could have a tittle by the time hes 22, and be ready for PBF by the time hes 23-24
Just my 2 cents anyhow;)

There was no method to Naz's showboating. In fact, he more often than not got clocked when he dropped his hands and ended up looking like an idiot, most notably against Barrera.
Naz flattered to deceive and it's laughable to suggest there was any plan behind his clowning.

Naz was a cock, sorry nicest way i can describe him. His first fight he got in the ring, doing flips around the ring, showboating during the fight, the after stopping the guy started doing flips around the ring again.
I'm sorry but he came to the ring in that first fight acting like a cock and carried on being one through his carer, and after whats happend the last couple of days with him, seems he's just as big a cock outside the ring as he was in it.
I personally hope he never EVER gets in a ring again, he stands for everything a boxer, an athlete and person shouldn't be! he was a bad loser and an even worse winner

No, but it's the perfect example of a fighter utterly out of his deoth. The Kelley fighter a better example for you?
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
What else can he be judged on? past it ex Europian champs and other over hyped fighters. You give him far to much credit Starr. Who has he beat who still made something of them selfs?
Guys like MAB etc have beaten and been beaten by loads of guys who have went on to win loads of real belts against proper fighters. If Naz fought some one they where usually on the way out or overhyped and his team new it... They payed 'The Mirror' etc loads of money to get british fight fans interested in him and thats where most of his hype and rep came from.
Fuck, they only let him fought MAB because MAB wasn't a legent at that point, he'd just lost to Morales and fought 3 decent fighters... his team didn't think it was a risk like all his other fights.

How can you say that? He excepted his first defeat very very gracefully and didn't mke no excuse. if anything he excepted that defeat better then anyone thought he would.
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
for 10 minutes after the bout maybe... look what its done to him... he struggled to knock some bum out and then didn't want it any more.
Look at all the guys he beat after he got his WBO title or what ever it was... just checked 5 at random and all of them went on to loose at least a further 6 fights and few were 'luck'y enough to challenge for an NABF belt or some peice of trash.

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
And what of Manuel Medina who Naz fought when he had the flu ??? ;)

Simple, he lost then hid. you don't have to slag someone off, or make excuses to be a bad loser. Its not as if barrera smashed him about for 12 rounds, Nas done a decent job in there. fighting some bum after it, with his talent? was a discrace
I hated the guy with a pasion through his time as a boxer 'coz of the cock he was. BUT if he came back after the loss with barrera, trained right and go back on the horse, i wud of prolly still hated the guy, but my self and i think millions others would of had a hell of a lot more respect for him, win or lose
But saldy he showed his true colors after that fight, it was a shame, he had alot of natural talent, and he f****ed it all up. He had what it took to have everyone agree to him being one of the best ever at his w8, but he just became to cocky.

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
Why have you guys got so much hatred towards Naz?
The guy is retired, just let him be

You say that and have Hagler as your avatar ???
;D

Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
also lost 6 fights and went on to win a few of the decent alphabet titles before loosing them after a fight or two?
What about him? ;)
Billy Hardy knocked him out... I've met the bloke a few times... got trophys off him, he'd be the last to say that beating him was a huge acheivement... ;)
As for having the Flu... 'a cold' may be a more fitting word and it meens nothing unless the guy was in the same league as hamed... ;) I could beat up a rookie amatuer boxer if I had the flu... I wouldn't give myself props for it ;)

Are you having a laugh - that is exactly what Barrera did to him. He smashed him around for 12 rounds, non stop. Naz did well to finish the fight on his feet
-
Re: Khan-I would love to have Mayweather in 4 rounder
kahn should call out kostya tszyu for a one rounder ;)

CC 350. I am personally calling out Winky and PBF at the same time for one 1-second round. I guarantee I can get the draw even against the world's best. I have MASTERED the 1-second round!
