Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Gonzalez vs Montiel

Thought you bitches were gettin off light this weekend huh?

Thanks to the persistence one of the soldiers of the drunken army...we got another installment of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round coming your way!!!

Truthfully...I wasn't gonna cover this one...but...if asked...I am at the forum's call!!! As always...where there's a will there's a way & where there's a pitcher...there's always a way...& Wacko's always ALWAYS got a pitcher!

Once again...it's time to come to the aid of those who either have no time for boxing on the weekends, don't have cable, or just suffer from prior engagements...either way...wer'e here with one more round of drunken coverage.

Tonight we'll be sitting in with an HBO doubleheader of the glorious HBO BOXING AFTER DARK series.

The fights get cranking at 10:00 p.m. tonight in the outdoor Home Depot Center in Carson, Cal., with our new BAD commentators Fran Charles, Max Kellerman and Lennox Lewis.

It should be a goody...admittedly...I aint that excited about it...but as usual...boxing, liquor, the compu, & Saturday night works well for the Wack one.


The main event is a 12 rounder in the bantamweight division as Jhonny Gonzalez (32 wins with 28 ko's & 4 losses) and Fernando Montiel (32 wins with 24 ko's, 1 loss, & 1 draw) of Mexico square off in a contest that promises big action.


The opening fight features two undefeateds in Walter Matthysse (25-0, 24 KOs) against Paul Williams (29-0, 21 KOs) of Augusta, Ga., in a ten-round welterweight clash.

Whoooooooooooooo hoooo!!!


After the fight we get to see a "Countdown to Tarver vs Hopkins" which should be fulla shat talking & intimidation.

Sorry for the lack of prep work...this one's for Wadeb_21. Heh heh heh.


Once again I say to you all...the very same...predictable...alcohol drenched words that I so often say with the coming of fight night: Break out the chips & salsa, crack a few cans open, toss the shots down the hatch, & let's see what we got in store for the evening.

I think Johnny Gonzalez is gonna KO Monitel's little ass. Montiel has been gettin too many gift decisions and breaks lately, and Gonzalez has been on the way up for some time now. In the welterweight fight I dunno who wins, I've heard of Paul Williams but not this Matt Hissy fit guy.

WIlliams to the body. one two & Mattis finally fires. Williams still the agressor. Nice combo by WIlliasm. Nice left by WIlliams. RIght & a left by Mattis. Mattis lands but WIlliams takes it fine & retalitates. Mattis to the body. Right & a left by Mattis. Mattis swinging wild. Nice upper or either a right hook by Mattis. ROcked WIlliams. Bodyh shots & then upstairs on the ropes by Mattis. These fools are bombing away. Williams seems more focused but Mattis landing the harder blows. Trade all the way tot he bell.

Williams ain't no joke, it's said that he wars with Margarito in sparring and come out on top sometimes.

I think that Williams is gonna stop this guy in the later rounds.

Williams lands a big upper & Mattis comes on through. WIlliams jabbing. That jab is killing him. Mattis on the inside. Big right hook for Mattis. Again just after cracking him iwth a left. RIght hand by Mattis. WIlliams rocked. Damn. This is a good fight. I think that Mattis is coming on. He just backed up got tagged. Slip. DOwn goes wILLIAMS. Williams comes in & pops him. Two lefts to the body by Mattis & he is wearing Williams ass out. Right left right!!! Damn. Williams lands a nice right & Mattis comes on again. The jab is a big facotr for Williams. Shoulder to shoulder. WIlliams is more effective. Nice jabs. 4 punches in a row by WIlliams. Right hand by WIlliams. Mattis to the body & lands a left hook also. Damn. WIlliams jabbing. Big right & LEFT & WIlliams looks the fresher. Body shot by Williams. Mattis is def gassed out. Body shot by WIlliams. Mattis is starting to swell. & Mattis just nailed him iwiht a hard right hook. Williams b acking up. WTF?!?!? Crazy. Mattis getting wild. Nails WIlliams with a big right hook. I tihnk tha the just hurt WIlliams. Sloppy...but effective. One two by WIlliams & Mattis just nailed him with a right. WIlliams is now cut. Mattis is swollen. He's just swinging a bit wild & sloppy. Right hook for Mattis & WIlliams fires back with aleft. Mattis is tired as fwock!

Williams needs to watch for those overhand right counters.

Left hand nails Mattis. Mattis is having issues. He's tired as fwock. 3 punches up top & then a body shot by Williams. I'm impressed. Big right hand to the ribs & then a left & then another body shot. Upper. Mattis is just trying to hold on. Mattis comes back right & then a left but WIlliams is pretty solid. Left hand by WIlliams. Mattis hammers him wikth a right & a left that seemingly hurt Williams. Mattis pushed Williams to his knee. Williams nails him hard. Mattis is running out of gas.

Nice. 1-2 for Williams. Clench. Body shot & then a comb o by WIlliams. That really hurt Mattis. Mattis is throwing nothing but power punches & it's wearing him out because hes missing a lot. WIlliams still jabbing. Upper on the inside by WIlliams. Mattislands a right...but nothings on it. His shots are slow & LOopy now. WIlliams jabbing. Body shot by Mattis. Williams just works his ass over. 3 punch combo by WIlliams. Straight left fwocks mattis. RIght hand from Mattis. Right hook for Mattis...nothing there though. hE's gassed out & Williams get's warned for holding Mattis's head down.

Matthysse ain't going to last the distance. It looks like he's the drunk one

Big right hand by Wiliams. Mattis has nothing left. Upper by WIlliams. 4 shots from Williams & then a body shot unanswered. Lennox is loving this fight. Mattis is just falling apart. Body shots by mattis & WIlliams racks him once again. Body shots by mattis. Sloppy inside work.

It takes 2 to make a fight...& Mattis is no longer in this fight.

Mattis just constantly on the back foot. Williams nails him wiht a left. Double jab & then a left & RIGHT hook combo by WIlliams. That was pretty. Upper & then a hook by WIlliams followe dby a body shot & Mattis lands a right hand. Total class this cat WIlliams is. Very focused. Left hook by Williams. Body shot & then a jab that Mattis just ate. Clench. Nice combo by Williams & Mattis seemed to buckle a bit. Two rights & then a left & Mattis did not like that. He's still firing...but he's just out on his feet. 5 punches from WIliams go off unanswered.

Williams to the body. Nice. 1-2 & then 3 body shots on the ropes. Big left hooks nails Williams. Stunned. Damn!!! Williams fires right back though. Gotdam...those were some BIG shots. Williams is fine. Big left hook nails Mattis. He just keeps coming though. WIlliams is owning him with that jab. Down goes Williams on a pull/push or something. WIlliams nalis Mattis with a right & Mattis nails back with nothing of consequence. Good fight.
