Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hell!!!
Williams just called out Margarito!!!
Said he wanted him!!! Respects him...but he wants Margarito!!!
Won't nobody fight Tony...throw em this kid.
I was impressed. He done good.
Whatchu think Game? ;D

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Where's the Margarito nuthuggers now. Margarito got no fight and he says no one wants to fight him, except Williams. Let's see this fight happen Tony.
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Knowing Margarito, he'll sign to face Matthysse first. Than continue to say everybody is ducking him
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Margarito is already scheduled to fight Sharmba Mitchell so settle down bitches. Paul Williams looked pretty good, throws lots of punches and has a good chin. Let's not be stupid like Max Kellerman and say he could beat every single fighter from 147-154 already though. ::**

I don't think that he could beat Margarito by any means...those shots that Mattis hit him with would drop him had they come from Margartio...I just liked the fact that he did indeed call him out.
What happens though if Mitchell beats Margarito?
THere's a thought.

Then I'll be happy for Sharmba, but it probably ain't gonna happen. I like Margarito and Mitchell. I do think that because Margarito is so underrated that he has in a way become overrated though. I think he could defeat Floyd maybe, but if he is too slow which he might just be, he would be pot shotted all night. The Mitchell fight should show us just how he deals with a faster, slicker boxer.

Oh!!! come on WackOff...
Tony called out the winner of PBF-ZAB prior to the fight.....
Then after the fight.......So?
Whats up? Wheres all the mad boxing fans at about fighters not stepping up to the plate?
Williams hasn't even fought top 15 opposition, all hes after right now is $$$$$$$. He needs to stand in line and wait his turn. Tony has been trying to get the big fight hes almost there now this young kat Williams want's to open his mouth and call Tony out is that really what he want's? Or is the 6 mill. he want's?
;)
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Williams may trouble Margarito for a round or two but he got hit with some looping right hands that Tony loves to throw. I don't think he is ready for Tony Margarito, but then again, who ever is
ready" ::**

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Tony punching power would break thru that chin of Williams....
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Why can't Williams take Margarito's punches? He took Matthysse punches who's KO% is way higher than Margarito's. Why is everybody making it seem like Margarito has Thomas Hearns or Julien Jackson power? He doesn't.

There you go...running with it like it's on fire.
You flamers kill me.
That was actually just a jovial shot to my boy the Game.
Margarito fighting Williams would be a step backward that I wouldnt expect him to take.
Try not to be such a serious Sally all the time.

Because Margarito like Williams throws about 100 punches a round. They wont be single shots.

Williams jab would cut that number down
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Oh come on people....if you read my article entitled WW monsters fight, you would see Williams himself said he is not on the level of Antonio Margarito,so why should Tony fight him? and even if he did, what would it prove? People would just diss Tony for winning against another dangerous unproven C grader, just like Clottey. Anyway, both would get crushed the way I crush most of these arguments against Margarito ;D
Fighting Sharmba Mitchell is better than fighting either of the above mentioned guys because, firstly he's a boxer,he won't trade and I want to see Tony with someone like that and second,it's a name. Not a great one but a name none the less. I highly doubt a jab and standing stationary would stop Margarito, the would loop his punches over the jab. No one said he has awesome one punch power but put two of his together and you have banging power and multiply that with hundreds he throws....Any other meek arguments?
Now when the fwook is that fag De La Hoya going to retire so we can REALLY find out what Floyd is made of!
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Margarito nuthuggers ::** He doesn't have a fight on his scheduled 7/29 date so instead of going with the over-the-hill Mitchell, let's see him face his sparring partner, Williams. If he doesn't take this fight I'm gonna use the same arguement against him that the Margarito fans use against why PBF doesn't fight him.
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
im totally on violents side margarito wouldnt land that many punches on williams, due to williams jab. I dont think williams would margarito(he has a good chance) but dont underestimate williams the guys got heart and is a good boxer.
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Williams is still a little green, but in a year, this kid could be very dangerous. He could hold his own now, but I wouldn't rush things.
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Williams could not beat Margarito, now, or tommorrow or next week, he was getting hit by Matthysse even after he was beaten up and tired, and he seemed to get shook up, Margarito is a whole different ballgame, Margarito is bull strong, iron chinned, and has tremendous stamina, I don't see Williams beaten Margarito, not at this stage of their careers.

I agree. I think it would be like Cintron-Margarito all over again. On the other hand though, Williams looks better than Cintron did. Williams took some good shots, and survived, while pitching a shutout, but he needs to be a little more patient before he fights a bigger puncher, IMO. Matthysse hits hard, but not as hard as some of the other welters. I'd like to see Williams fight Joel Julio.

Weak ass points. Is Sharmba ranked number 1 or 2 WW in Ring/ESPN etc like Tony?Is he respected by all writers?Floyd should fight Tony because Tony is number 1 man at WW.What's so nuthugging about that...err nothing...speaking the truth? According to your stupendous logic,Margarito should also fight Clottey,Cintron again and Williams too but after he beats them people like you pop out of nowhere with the same dumb ass arguments"Tony beat a bum etc etc". Yeah Sharmba is old but he looked good in his last fight and he is a name and I want to see how Tony does against a boxer.
Williams wins one match and people start getting excited.

I agree too. But, I'm not convinced, but I am impressed with the way Williams took those shots last night. I thought for sure he was going down, but he didn't. Obviously, Tony would go to the body more, and has the size to lay more pin-point counters, not some wild throws like Mattysse. Like I said before, Williams is too green yet. fighting Tony wouldn't be wise at this time. Especially after he was exposed IMO. Good boxer, needs more time. We saw what happened to Cintron.

Keep in mind that Mathysse needed to stretch out and reach for Williams hence loosing some power and leverage, Margarito wouldn't cus hes as tall and has the reach to connect without reaching as he normally does.

Let Williams fight Cintron, and lets see what happens. If he beats Cintron then maybe the Margarito camp may consider fighting Williams.

That was my point exactly. That's what I meant when I said pin-point counters, not wild throws. Tony wouldn't go for broke either like Mathysse did.

Come on people..... Hes a good boxer who showed he belongs in the ring, but lets not make it seem like he can storm thru anyone at 147..... He just fought top 20 opposition with Mathyse and already you guys are saying he would get rid of Tony.

And Williams's is? Like others been sayin, let him fight Kermit Cintron first. See if he can get through Cintron, then maybe try Margarito.

What is Cintron the gate keeper, now or what? Fighting Cintron makes no sense. Cintron is not a contender. If Williams fights and beats him, everybody will say he only beat a bum. Which Cintron is. So what's the point in fighting him. Williams knows a fight with Margarito would make him some decent money and put him in position for an even bigger fight with Mayweather. So that's why he called out Margarito. It's the same formula Margarito has been using the last couple of years with Mayweather. So what's the problem? Only Margarito can do that or what?

;D ::** Cintron is a lot more of a contender than Paul Williams. He recently KO'd David Estrada, while Williams just beat a nearly unknown last night, albeit the guy was tuff and had power, but he was no contender. Cintron is a pretty good fighter with a big punch, not a bum. But hey if you want Williams to rush into Margarito and get crushed just like Hercules Kyvelos and Kermit Cintron did, then let him is what I say. But he has done nothing to earn a shot other than run his mouth.

He hasn't lost a fight at Welterweight since 1997 hes a 2 time WBO Champ he only lost the belt because he vacated it to move and fight @ 154 since the so called Welterweight King (Judah) ran from him and didn't want to fight him. He came back to 147 and won the belt back. Hes beaten Diaz, Lewis, Kyvelos, Lujuan, Cintron & Gomez not bad at all. The record of his last 9 opponents and since he won the WBO title are 237-25-5. In championship fights hes 8-1 with 1 NC.
This was Mathysse 2nd fight outside of Argentina.......Come on people are we that desperate for fighters that with the slightest showing of boxing skills we think they can conquer a division thats so full of talent.....Just look at that other thread on how people are saying he could also beat PBF.....
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
I'd rather see Williams fight Cintron and then Margarito and if Margarito gets by Mitchell(which I can see happening, then these two will fight)
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Let Williams fight the winner of Julio-Quintana. Good battle regardless of who wins.
-
Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Heres what I put in another thread
Oh!! god NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! >:mad
A yougn kid makes a pretty solid performance (eventho he got caught a few times) and now all of a sudden hes the man at 147....I'll say it again he just fought top 20 opposition and had trouble with him. I got some good match ups for him to see what he got's....
these are top 8 thru 23 in my book
Kermit Cintron
Vivian Harris
Delvin Rodriguez
Eleazar Contreras
Oktay Urkal
and the winner of Julio vs Quintana.....
If he beats anyone of those guys then he can move on to the top 5.

Two time WBO champion, huh. Since when does the WBO mean anything. That belt is garbage. As for the fighters he fought. Diaz had already gotten his ass kicked by Mosley when they fought. Lewis was shot, Gomez had 10 losses, Cintron was severely overrated, Lujuan was mediocre at best and Kyvelos was just garbage. You said Margarito's last 9 opponents had a combined record of 237-25-5. Out of those 237 wins, how many were name fighters anywhere near there prime?

Do some research and find out... ;)
I can assure you they were more known and ranked higher then Williams entire career opponent's.
