Just watched it again. Man he connects
Taekwondo 101 people ;D
Keeping your hands up is under rated... sure Bruce Lee movies may not look as good but that kid wouldn't of got a concussion... :D
and that's why I never joined a tkd club ;D
My boy got his green belt yesterday! Pretty soon he'll be knocking me spark out probably ;D
I might take up a bit of brazilian ju jitsu, turns out my old karate teacher is now having brazilian ju jitsu lessons on tuesday nights and i might give them a go.
BJJ = Basically Just Judo :)
Yeah i know...but it would still be cool i reckon, they got a guy who was on the aus judo team teachin it i think ;)Quote:

so you're agreeing with and threatening me at the same time. Oh dear.
It always pisses me off to see TKD fighters bounce up and down like the kid who was KO'd, good thing he swallowed a foot ;)
Yep. Know your placeQuote:

Hell, they both stood there for like a fuckin' minute. >:mad ???
But it was a very nice kick tho. :lickish:
yep its Taekwondo competition.
That kick from that kid would have KOed a gorwn man easily.
I hate TKD, i sparred a few guys when i was doing karate and all they fuckin do is kick which explains why i smashed them with punches and even managed to catch a couple of their kicks and take them to the ground. Karate definately aint the best fighting art but damn its more well rounded then TKD
Depends what kind of TKD it is. ITA TKD focuses more on hand techniques than the others. I think that is ITF TKD in the vid. Where they kick and score points.Quote:

The ATA TKD fighters I sparred were just how snakey described, threw nothing but kicks and once you get inside life sucks for them. No matter what form of it you come across you're constantly gonna question it, as there's always abunch of useless shit that needs to be disregarded especially in real situations. That windmill kick only worked because the dumb little shit was standing there bouncing around like hes been taught for years and years. If he was moving around and feinting no way it would of happend, like that anyway. I had alot of fun in the years I did it, but was also lucky enough to train with a small intense group who made me aware of all the things in TKD that are for the art itself and not for self defense. Who in the world needs a 360 crescent in their arsenal, really ;)
ATA is Mcdojo all the way.
Agree with what you say though mate. Its how you adapt your art for the street though that counts.
Anyone who attempts a flying 360 degree kick in the street is asking for a world of hurt.
Having said that I have managed to spark out many a doorman with the crane technique.
If do properly....................no can defence.
But what grown man is gunna stand there and let him do his twirly then kick, Dont get me wrong im not a Martial Arts basher, Actually i look down on Judo, i remeber as a kid my mate terry did Judo and i did Karate and i always whooped his arse and all he did was throw me ( only got to the orange belt before i got fed up of learning them stupid monotomous moves then having to perform in a crowd of 200-300 odd people where u dont get seen just for a belt! pfft! )Quote:

I'll stick with my familly moto of " Kickings for pussies and donkeys "
You never see any 1 type of type style win mma championships much less Judo, but I do see Fedor using Judo takedowns all the time. Obviously it helps setup that famous ground and pound.
Try using your little karate on him ;D
better yet let me give you a hip toss while surrounded by concrete
lol i stopped doing Karate when i was like 12, thats when i switched to boxing.
but in a street fight, that stuff aint happening, try to set up any kick or special move and your arse will be swarmed on so quick you'd be to busy trying to back up and get your space.
martial arts WONT work in a street fight, unless your a fucking Ninja.
Sounds like you havn't had much experience :)
Talking of ninja's..................still fucking hilarious ;D

True, but a grown man would have time to react the way the kids just stood there like that. Back when I took Karate, our teacher taught us to NEVER kick above the stomach. A kick to the head can be devastating, but when you kick that high, if your opponent catches your foot, you're pretty much GOING to get hurt. "TKD fancy stuff". :)Quote:

They glanced off the top of my head i then took him down and choked him so easily. Ive also do another 'sort' of martial art called urban combatives, lots of nasty impoact work for power and striking. Ive held the pads for karate guys and they harness IMO no power.
IMO Judo OWNS everything else as a standalone martial art style versus style (I'm biased but its true ;D) its widely regarded as the best form of self defence by REAL people who know violence ie Bouncers etc.
Also you mention all your mate did was throw you? Have you ever been thrown onto a hard surface by a competent Judoka? I thought not. I'm betting your mate was a low grade. Not wishing to brag but if someone of any decent level threw you onto a hard surface you would not be getting up. Add to the fact you were kids. Things get a bit different and nastier in the seniors mate.
boxing is a MA.Quote:

We set ground rules so it's not full contact, its sparring.
First of he get's in his gi & bare foot, I'm in regular clothes & trainers. Ding ding, he gets his foot stomped on so we have to stop for him to put his trainers back on. He keeps trying all these fancy head kicks, spinning jumping crap you can see coming for miles so back off or push forward and he's off balance. I just keep kicking his shins and knees. In the end he calls it quits and his legs are fucked.
If you train for a sport fine, realise it's a sport if you train for self defense you need to keep some realism keep it simple and drill and drill and drill till you don't need to think you just act.
Still. nice Ko :)
Is it wrong that these posts of yours are really turning me on ;DQuote:
