I don't know but I would like to know as well.
the sparring partner that Taylor uses is probably the most important factor in determining whether he wins this fight or not. I don't think there is a southie that can effectively duplicate Winky's style, and if Taylor found this person I would like to know.
some irish dude...currently 2-0
hes a southpaw...manny's trainer
big prospect
supposedly the first sparring jermaine had with him was VERY intense.
who knows though..probably just hype
no wrong his sparred with andy lee and sechew powell
You are all wrong hahahahah
I went down there yesterday
He DOES sparr that irish guy and Sechew, but his main sparring partner is a guy we all call Co-Co
Spars him for about 7 rounds or so. He does mix it up and box with the Irish guy as well who is going to be a very good boxer.
BUT NO they do NOT emmulate taylors boxing style, he is just working his way into learning the ways of fighting a southpaw.....

Co-Co is about 31-33 years old, and he is a 8 round lvl Fighter.Quote:

Also he is carrying his Lead hand alot lower then he used to which I do not understand, that hand should definetly stay up against a Southpaw with a jab.....Co-Co's Jab is good but not like Winky's..
HE sparred 7 rounds yesterday and he did not look tired, only thing is he was throwing about 25 punches a Round....so thats why he wasnt tired.
Co-Co cracked him with some good straight Left hands.
And like i said, the partners are not emulating Winky.....and alot of people in the gym would say things like...."Winky not gon just stand there and not jab", or "Taylor wont be able to crack winky's Defense)
Thing is he has a very nice secret weapon which i cant mention on this forum....
Lets just say that if his jab is fast enough, then winky's jab will be taken out of the picture.
Any more questions?
Why can't you mention his secret weapon? I've always had one question how much faster are guys when you see them live like Taylor than their are on T.V. if any?
Cant talk about secret weapon, who knows if winky Team people log on this website.Quote:

But once he really started cranking it up, Man i was hella impressed. He was nice short accurate shots that are just Beautiful to watch. He would throw a jab and then step in for a 1,2 to the body and it would just look beautiful, quick and very slick. All his punches are short which is why his speed is so well, and his straight Right looks like a killer.
Taylor hasnt always been properly trained in the past. It showed in the Hopkins fights but he was still right there with BHop. He now has a great trainer in ES. Taylors jab is as good as winkys when he is allowed to use it plus he has way more power than winky. He almost KO'd Bhop in the second fight with a staright left jab. His Right hand will KO you if he lands it good. Bhop knew this and stayed away and out smarted JT. Winky better not get hit like he did against soliman or he wont last 2 rounds with JT thumping on him. Bhop never fought winky becasue he couldnt out box him and he knew it. But if bhop would have imposed his wil on winky, he would have Ko'd him.
sounds good man
so are we looking for a competitive fight?
i assume you have ur bets on taylor?
The mitts of Emanuel Stewart ;D
Well, we can all speculate (its fun ;D) but until the fighters step into the ring, you just dont know what your gonna get. I'll say this for Taylor, win or lose, hes been a man and a real competitor through all of this. He could have easily shyed away from winky like other fighters, but Jermaine aint like that. No matter what his promoters told him, in his heart he felt winky deserved a shot at his title. Fans of Taylor and Winky, or boxing fans in general should be proud that JT wants to earn his keep instead of running like so many champs do. When was the last time a champion fought 3 straight top of his division championship fights in a years time? One last point. These two guys are not just champions in the ring, they are first class gentlemen outside the ring, the kind of guys you want your kids to emulate, hard working, caring family men. I am JT all the way in this one, but when winky isnt in against jermaine, I am always pulling for him to win. They are both men that the sport of boxing can be proud of.

i was watching the countdown on tivo and i noticed that taylor was working on his footwork.
everything i've heard about taylor that has improved is his speed and how he is a bit more versatile with combinations.
i expect taylors fight plan to be something like this.
- use the jab....no jab.he's losing. PERIOD.
- when winky goes into his shell use your speed and pound on him and get out.
- set the pace.
- be the agressor
i dont care though....if taylor cannot get the jab going none of the above will happen. guaranteed.
what I am asking is do guys look faster on tv or live?Quote:
