Arum wants Cotto to fight Gatti if he beats Malignaggi
I read the local newspaper today here at PR and Arum said that when Cotto beats Malignaggi he will have a fight against Gatti in November if Gatti beats Baldomir for the title.
All Im thinking is if this italian kid is that good?If he has what it takes to pull off the upset??Does he got the skills to back up his big a** mouth???
Cuz if all that S*** hes talking about is real,I see Cotto ending frustrated like those sad days here in PR when Tito was getting outboxed like a bitch the same F****** way for 12 whole rounds,and a new star at 140.
What yall think of this Paulie???

PAULIE COULD PULL OFF A SPADIFORA YOU NEVER KNOW... HE WAS A VIRTUAL UNKNOWN YEARS AGO WITH SPEED, SLICKNESS AND NO ONE THOUGHT HE'D AMOUNT TO ANYTHING... THEY ARE ACTUALLY QUITE SIMILAR... IT COULD HAPPEN BUT I DONT THINK IT WILL...

Hatton should be a man and fight for more money and prestige than he would get with Collazo. Hatton should fight Collazo in Manchester when his sojourn stateside is over.

Cotto is getting by on bottle at the moment he is dead at the weight he just looks so gaunt and is marking up badly i dont like to see a young fighter killing himself like this .
I think Arum knows this and puts him in with the relatively light punchingPaulie M but in a distance fight this could backfire.
Cotto's got to move up before he gets hurt .
If Castillio fights him at lightwelter he'll squash Cotto whilst i like everything about Cotto his variety and strength he'd be manor from heaven for Castillio at lightwelter after years and years of being Chavez's chief sparring partner you have to think he'll have enough smarts to absorb anything Cotto can thwack him with to the body .

There is a good possibility that Castillo could be banned though, that is where the speculation is coming from.

castillo could be banned for not making weight? wtf? ive never heard of that--he should be fined heavily--but banned i dunno---hes a great warrior and good for the sport as a fighter even though he has disgraced himself a little over the last 2 fights with chico...........they should have had a contract weight of like 138.5 or something---maybe jose just couldnt physically make the weight--but id ont want to make excuses for him
secondly--for all u folks concerned about cotto---keep him away from gatti----gatti would murder his ass....gatti is a big strong 147 pounder with 1 punch kayo power---he would knock cotto dead...........
i prefer to see cotto-hatton at 147---its a better fight for miguel--he could outbox ricky early then finish him in the middle rds--ricky has little power especially at 147 and cotto would be able to evade hatton's wild amateurish shots while pounding his body and beating ricky senseless when the body has been destroyed..........

Castillo is not going to be banned from boxing, that penalty is not on the table. The consequences he faces for not making weight is fines and a suspension that probably wouldn't be more than one year.

the huge difference is that Cotto's boxing ability is a lot better than Trinidad's

Hatton hasn't done enough to deserve the shot....Needs to give Collazo a rematch then move on..but he wont and he just might get exposed in his next fight....I'm not completely selling hatton out but him ducking Collazo gives me reason to question....

I'm not claiming to be a boxing expert but from the my boxing experience and watch the way Cotto fights and the way Hatton fight i would have to edge this fight to Cotto. Cotto has a slightly weak chin but a good defense. The only time his defense really gets bad is when he loads up all that power so he can go to the body. But Hatton relys on bullying people into his punching game and he can take hits from Callazo but Cotto's record speaks for itself for his hitting power to his good counter punching and speed if hatton doesn't come at angle and prevent from going toe to toe which he wont its night night time. I have Cotto by KO. Oh yea but the topic was Cotto and Gatti if Cotto can manage not to get hit by Gatti I can only see this fight being stopped by Cuts or Body shots but i'm not seeing a decision period.

Here's my take on this whole Malignaggi Cotto situation...Paulie's fast as hell but he's got no pop...but...BUT(!!!)...Cotto looks terribley gaunt.
This could be bad. Anyone that has never seen Paulie in action should prepare to be shocked. The kid really can box...that being said...I hope Miguel catches him & stops him in the first. ;D

BELIEVE ME. He makes more money fighting 'nobodies' 3-4 times a year than fighting the toughtest guys he can get his hands on anywhere they will fight.
He could fight a body bag and sell 22,000 at $50 a seat all the way up to $750-$1000 for top dollar. He made more money fighting tackie or vilches than collazo.
