Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Scotsman Colin Bain will aim to become the first boxer to beat Amir Khan when he tackles him at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on July 8 during what could be an otherwise miserable weekend for those north of the border.
The Glaswegian hardman is confident he can beat Khan and give his fellow Scots something to cheer about - even if England have made the following day's World Cup Final.
Beaten just once in 11 fights, 27-year-old Bain will appear outside of Scotland for the first time but is relishing the prospect of boxing in front of a huge crowd in Cardiff.
Khan, 19, knows he can cut no corners in his preparations for this one, and is not taking Bain lightly as he looks to extend his winning record to 8-0.
"I've had a look at Colin's record and the only man he has lost to is Ricky Burns, and he gave a good account of himself when he fought for the European title," said Olympic silver medallist Khan.
"I'm getting to the stage of my career where no fight is going to be easy, and I expect Colin to come and give it a real go in Cardiff.
"I know there is going to be a tremendous buzz around Cardiff in a month's time.
"The reception I got in Belfast recently was absolutely sensational, and I know the Welsh fans will get behind me just as much."

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Khan should win. But after his last outting from what I heard, he is showing hamed symptoms already before he's even matured
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Khan will beat him, but mneeds to sort some kind of defense out first, and stop show boating...or at least do it when your opponents not got you on the ropes with yourself wide open.
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Didn't he showboat and get knocked through the ropes?

this will be a tough fight for him ;)

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Of course this is a guy that Lee Haskins doesn't move up to fight after all ;D Haskins is more naz then Khan ;) Amir better look impressive and not get caught. it's kind of ridiculous he said he's mastered four rounders so he's like to fight PBF in one. PBF mastered the 20 rounders which means he'd put in 5 rounds of work in each round against Amir ;D

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Emma thinks Khan is attractive, poor girl :(

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain

:D mind you he wont moan will he? after all hes getting money for old rope.

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
No, he's not gonna say
"Well I think I'm getting 90,000 for this easy fight I will win in a round, but I would much rather get 50,000 in a hard fight that nobody picks me in."
;D
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
lol of course not because he cant handle hard fights like the last one,and if frank keeps giving him feather weights he'll never be able to handle hard opponents.
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
See there's an old saying
"If you keep fighting bums, thats what kind of fighter you'll be."
Its not just the fighter that makes himself, but the opponents too. Khan keeps fighting bums, then as soon as he's in with something different he won't know how to react when the other guy actually decides to punch back ;) or maybe...counter..or use footwork :o

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
In honest hindsight, Bain is there to make Amir Khan look good...
Simple put, he dosen't have a chance

The opponent would test positive for some banned substance and the fight reversed and switched to a NC and Amir would continue his career, and the guy that beat him would never have another fight :lickish:

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
This kid doesnt have a bad record,
his only lost came to ricky burns - and by the looks of it he even took a round off him when going the distance
However on the downside - hes fought no-one with a 'positive' record 3-3-1 seems to be the highlight, never stopped anyone - so no power to catch kahn showboating - and by the looks of it, is at least one division 'natually' below khan.
I know kahn is still developing and im definatly not wanting him to rush into anything, but theres a welath of prospects and other national level journeymen he could be cutting his teeth on, Barry Morrison, Dean Hickman, Alan Bosworth etc etc

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain

Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
We'll find out. How many knockouts does this guy have?(the opponent)
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
Sadly I think some of you guys are right. The impression I got from Khans last outing is that he doesnt respond too well to being hit, possibly might have a bit of Audley about him, we will see.
-
Re: Confirmed Khsn gets Bain
He is probably over rated at this stage of his career but mind u, lets not forget this is ONLY his 8th pro fight i believe? hes still new in the pro game and he has said every post fight interview he is still learning and so on. Warren will do the same with Khan as he did with Hatton. Make his record look sweet etc and then slowly throw him into the deep end.
Character wise the kid is no where near naz, far from it. Im sure Khan will be the first to admit he has a lot to improve on, especially after his last performance.
Cut all the fighter bashing etc pls. He's still a young kid and considering all the media spotlight on him and expectations from ppl from day1 i think hes doing good and improving at a good pace.
