Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
Who COULD ???Could being the key word !
Oscar De La Hoya
Ricky Hatton
Antonio Margarito
Kermit Cintron
Juan Lazcano
Miguel Angel Cotto
Jose Luis Castillo
Shane Mosley
Roman Karmazin
now who has the better chances? I think
Roman Karmazin because he is big awkward as hell and very energetic / Russian Tough
Oscar De La Hoya because well he is De La Hoya !
Jose Luis Castillo because he already did, anyway thats how i saw it
;D

Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
Ricky Hatton I feel is the only fighter right now that 'could' however I'd put my money on Floyd in that fight.

Cory Spinks is a southpaw and he has the best jab of anyone Floyd has ever faced and he can fight inside and outside and lays traps for fighters like Floyd. Notice in the Judah fight what Judah did that was effective, he made Floyd lead and he countered him instead of leading which is what Floyd wanted, when he leaded was when Floyd could break him down and lead later. Spinks would make Floyd lead and stop him in the lead, also, Spinks would be the slickest guy that Floyd has ever fought as well. So we could be looking at a fight with a bunch of hitting and missing, but Spinks also has size with his reach and ability, so I think Spinks would stand a very good chance of beating Floyd Mayweather and Spinks doesn't lose his composure when he is pressed and doesn't get hit a lot. Best thing about Spinks is he has more then reflexes he has timing, once he gets a fighter timed he beats them. But the only times Judah caught him with the knockdown and the hurt instance was during a round Spinks was winning. I don't think mayweather has that kind of power to make him pay for it. with Spinks you have to hurt him bad with one shot, because if you don't he's not there for the followup. I think Spinks would win via decision if they ever fought

Well done Starr, just when I think your predictions can't get any more absurd you come up with another classic.
No way Cory beats Floyd, he's got no power and Floyd is by far the better boxer.
I reckon Joel Julio will be the one to end him :P

You know power isn't everything but apparently you think it is since you think Joel Julio would beat Floyd

Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
Floyd could literally get out of bed after 8 hours of sleep and have the opening bell rung within 4 minutes, and still win a ridiculous UD over Sorry Spinks :-*

very articulated and well thought out
you make a strong case for cory spinks even though i couldnt possibly disagree with you more.
floyds power is vastly underrated and spinks doesnt have the boxing skills that floyd does
but good post nonetheless

Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
Well let me ask you. Do you think Floyd has the power to seriously hurt Spinks with one shot? or would he need to accumulate?

either...........floyd has the power to put guys down with one shot, hes done it before but that isnt really his gameplan.
spinks is not on the same level as floyd.........maybe if he wins in july and mayweather/delahoya goes through that fight could happen
-
Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
We'll see how Spinks looks against Karmazin and see whats still there or not. And can you believe Kassim Ouma said he would kill himself to make 147 if it meant fighting Floyd :o Kassim's legs would be SHOT.
-
Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
His legs would be the last thing to worry about, it'd be his damn brain knocking against his skull. Saying that, is kassim really a big 154?
-
Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
I like Starr's ideas behind Spinks. I'm not sold that Spinks would win though. I could see him making it close but PBF getting the vegas decision in an all together boring fight. I'm not sure Casamoyer could beat PBF but I think it would be a very competitive fight. To beat PBF the fighter needs to be a Tommy hearns type fighter. Tall rangy with the ability to fight inside and out and would need to be able to seriously bang. No one is going to take Floyd out early. Its going to take 10-12 rounds of constant stalking and pressure.

ODLH at 154.....
-
Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
The guy that just beat Cotto's big brother.....
Juan Diaz??
He could beat floyd if it was at 140 maybe.....
At 135 he would definetly beat floyd....
-
Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
cory spinks is a nothing, that built his record on bums and got a BS decision over Mayorga, beat judah, then got ko'ed by judah, if judah can catch spinks, PBF will tear spinks' ass up, spinks is a young boy trying to masquerade as a boxer to make daddy happy....he will be beaten inside of 7 by floyd....
I think 35 years ol mosely at 147 is the only stands a chance of beating floyd...or maybe legit 154 pounders at 154...but it will be due to floyd moving up too fast and not the other being better....

Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
Ricky Hatton is a joke fighter. He has no intelligence when he fights, and he throws illegal punches all the time. He is a idiot, and if you put an idiot up to an intelligent fighter like floyd. It's not going to hurt floyd, because floyd would dodge all of hatton's punches and just play with him until hatton's stamina runs out. Ricky Hatton is a big douche, just like Joe mesi is. It's like, OMG you fight nobodies and you brag about being undefeated :-*

Luis Collazo, Carlos Maussa and Kostya Tszyu all champions and Hatton took the belts off them, had a close call against Collazo but he won still. So you think Kostya Tszyu is a nobody he was the number1 in the division when Hatton fought him and alot off people didnt give Hatton a chance off beaten him,Hatton made him QUIT on his stool.

There ain't no current fighter right now that can beat Mayweather. He is a once in a generation fighter. I would of cc you, but that Michael Grant reference couldn't be ignored. A hesitant sc for you.

To call Ricky Hatton a joke is a JOKE… However I do think you make an interesting point about the illegal type punches. Hatton’s style is really not conducive for the States, I believe His fight with Tszyu may have played out different here in the U.S. , I believe that Ricky might have had a few points taken away in that fight thus forcing him to fight more within the confines of the rules. IMO
That being said I think Ricky is extremely exciting to watch , I love his determination factor !

Re: fighters today who could beat floyd................
its one thing to say who can beat who...we've all seen floyds fight yea he wins in dominating performance but its a long way to immortality...heres a list of fighter I want to see him in...
hatton
winky
pac
oscar
margarito
shane
morales
it'll be in different weight class ofcourse...making it more harder...i doubt he'll still be active after fighting all those guys...but he may not even fight any of those guys at all...
if he goes up he gets cRush by winky
if he goes down in weight a brutal fight with pac his going to have to survive...he stays where he is...eventually hatton fight or margarito fiight will happen...castillo is the only one in my eyes to have beaten floyd...and margarito is a big castillo so...floyd fighting margarito would be one to watch...
