Ronaldo is 21 years old my friend ok, he is still learning the game, he is a great prospect and has some talent that needs to be helped along the way, why let him take a penalty?? did you see the penalty?? theres your fucking answer!!!! he has a perfect record of 4/4 in big games aswell so there you go, listen he had a bad game, the guy is a great talent and if you look a little closer at his goals to games ratio for Portugal you might actully be impressed its something like 38/13, which is a great return for a guy who plays on the wing.
So can i ask why you have singled out Ronaldo?? Mate i think you have got the wrong Ronaldo, there has been loads more players in the first two games who havent contributed as much as him.

personally i'm a fan of the lad.
i dont think its possible to become a better player but it is possible to mature into a more complete player, look wat mourinho's effect has had on joe cole, he plays well from chelsea cos he is encouraged to beat a man and lay it off, at england sven lets him shot all the time.
but players like ronaldo, joe cole etc that have the exceptional talent to beat 3 or 4 men with quick faints and fast feet, but there is a limit to the showboating were its time to give the ball to a player in a better position and thats wat he needs to do more frequently.
having played football for years i love watching a showboater rip defenses apart with the step overs and dummys but im also screaming look how much space he's got over there.
give it 3 years and then see how good the lad is cos as much as some of us hate him, hes young and playing at the top level already

Age does matter, if you didnt realise you mature when you get older especially mentally, look at Joe Cole for instance last night could of anyone predicted a performance like that from this man when he was 21 no chance.

Yes, I saw him at Barca and he was probably the best forward I have ever seen (along with Marco van Basten), but he wasn't finished at 26 just after the last world cup - while I fear that Owen might be.
