I really don't know what fight some of you were watching, this was so obviously a draw or a Taylor win.

:o
SINCE WHEN DOES HITTING SOMEONES GLOVES COUNT AS A CLEAN PUNCH!!?!?!?!?!!! ??? ??? ???
-
Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
Yeah, it was those punches on the gloves that were backing Winky up. Taylor hit gloves a lot but he also landed cleanly and around the ear. Don't blame it on the judge, blame Winky for running like ODLH in the 12th.

Watch the 12th again...Winky was the one landing the punches. Taylor missed & still got the 12th round.
Don't blame it on Winky when it was clearly his round.

I voted YES ;) anyone that says Ayala beat Tapia has no business judging ;D
I dont know how Taylor hits Winky once(being generous) in the 12th and gets the 12th. And takes a beating from Bernard in the 12th and still gets the 12th. 12 seems to be Jermain's lucky number.. and thats how much longer he'll b champ. 12 months ;)

Backing Winky up? Umm...no he was never backed up. And Winky ran for the last 30 seconds after a dominant two minutes. He won the round, no way it should ever be scored for Taylor.

Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
I had the fight 115-113 Taylor also, Great fight !

BULLSHAT!!!!!! put your gloves up and let someone with power hit them....you will move....still doesn't mean the punch landed.....and Winky won that round....

I just watched it and you are correct....Winky won that round!!! and the fight!!

Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
seems there is a decent contingency backing the blacklisting thus far
-
Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
Chuck is old and needs to retire, he clearly got lots of money doing some errand for someone
Boxing needs new pair of good eyesight for judges.
.............or Chuck should have a new one prescribed one before the Winky fight
-
Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
Winky's guard was consitently broken through. Hence the swelling and being wobbled. Not to metion some massive body shots.

CC. Comin from a man who hates both Winky and Taylor nearly equally, Winky deserved at worst a draw and more likely should have gotten the nod by a slight margin. He did clearly out land Taylor in the last round, after watching that 12th round for a second and third time, I have seen it. Originally I thought he was runnin too, but the bias ass commentary made me think that. It was not the case. Both men were very hesitant and Taylor had one good flury, where he barely landed a single clean shot. And hell yes Giampa should be blacklisted, any fuk head who scores the first Spinks vs Judah fight for Spinks knows nothing about boxing.

Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
Professional boxing remains the only major sport in the United States that does not have a strong, centralized association, league, or other regulatory body to establish and enforce uniform rules and practices.

Taylor did hurt Wright. But he occasionally broke through the guard, not conisistently by any means. Body shots never seemed to have any effect. And when your gloves get hit, they can bounce back and hit your face, thus causing some swelling, which is what happened. Also Taylor himself said that if he did ever hurt Wright, he sure didn't show it. I don't usually defend Wright, and it was a damn close fight, but saying his guard was consistently broken through is not accurate.

yeah Winky was able to block a fair share of those punches. I think the majority of the swelling was from unintentional head butts throughout the fight , Classic Orthodox meets Southpaw scenario , it happens. that’s just boxing .

Dalby shirley is another shi£house judge .
I thought to judge a fight you have to be sober, have use of sight or not b on day release from the nuthouse.

Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
some real credence has arrived to the movement of blacklisting this induvidual

Chavez had not one, but TWO points deducted in that fight for low blows, AS WELL as suffering the only knockdown of the fight, and got DOMINATED. If anyone from that fight should be blacklisted, it's Abraham Chavarria, who despite seeing all that, gave CHAVEZ a 114-113 score :o. Giampa scored this fight perfectly.
-
Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
I don't really think he won the rematch either, to be honest.

Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
Judging by the state of Winky's face when Larry Merchant interviewed him in his dressing room I can only conclude 1 of two things.
Either, Taylor did land WAAAAAAAAAAY more punches than you guys are crediting him with.
or
Someone else beat the shat out of him on his way to the shower.

he could have concussed him with 5 punches in one round...
doesnt mean you give him that round if winky landed 9 ;)

Its about more then punches landed, Taylor was throwing more punches , even though Winky was parrying a lot of Taylor’s Shots Taylor was the one throwing the majority of punches. Winky did have his bursts but the majority of the rounds Taylor was busier IMO , stepping forward and parrying punches does not win the round

taylor was backing up 90% of the time, without wright coming foreward taylor wouldnt have been throwing as many punches, everytime wright stopped coming in taylor just stood there,
reguardless, that means nothing, you can throw 1000 shots in a round, if you land 1 and your opponent goes 2 for 2 he wins that round...
-
Re: SHOULD Chuck Giampa BE BLACKLISTED?
check it - rounds should be broken into 3 parts. 1st min, 2nd, and the final min, and average that together you get the winner of that round, to many people fall trap to the 30 sec flurries of a 3 min round. Another words Taylor was doing more , Wright fought in spots but for that not enough . . That’s my case. Good Discussion.

wrong!
if somebody throws two jabs and lands them both in 1 round and the other guy throws 1000 shots a round and lands 1 wicked right cross, then the BUSIER, MORE EFFECTIVE fighter wins.
;)
