Why do People Think Margarito Will Steamroll Mayweather???I dont get it

I have seen a few of Tony's fights and he is a feroucious puncher and he is relentless..But he is slow and telegraphs his punches...Floyd is a porsche in the ring he can get in get out stand there and duck slip and roll...anyone that says Floyd dosent have the power is wrong...Floyd has accumalative punching power in Volumes and Combos..Floyd is deadly accurate and lightning quick

Margarito Can't outbox Floyd,Can't beat him to the punch,does not have the defense does not have the accuracy...

Margarito will have to try mug Floyd inside and on the ropes and Floyd wont stay in there and allow that

Floyd wears down his opponents often leaving them confused and double clutching and not sure when to throw...because of Floyds speed and counterpunching he overwhelms like a swarm of angry bee's

Castillo pressured Mayweather and he took some clean shots from Castillo Floyd adapted and that was years ago Floyd has gotten smarter and EVEN MORE POLISHED...Castillo is faster and more mobile than Margarito

Yeah i dont get it either, i guess it was like when he fought gatti...everyone hoped gatti could hit him once and knock him out...didnt happen there and wouldnt happen here.

I agree Toney is being overhyped and rightfully, we need to do this with every person who fights Floyd. It's the same thing as back in the day when Ali wasn't accepted by the boxing public and every fighter he faced was supposed to be the one who shuts his loud mouth up. PBF is in the same senario, having the undefeated record, embarassing most of his opponents, totally arrogant, basically everything that made people initially hate Ali and now he's the most beloved fighter of all time. It's good for boxing, and if Floyd wasn't shit when it came to talking it would be even better for boxing. But seeing how he's not very charismatic lets hope people atleast take notice of what he can do in the ring, which is destroy people like Toney.

The castillo comparison doesnt work because we are talking an entirely different size of fighter....

Well let me ask you this,since Catillo is a naturally bigger man than 135 obviously if Castillo moved up to 147 who you picking Castillo or Margarito??

Also Castillo is far more skilled than Margarito... he could only hit Mayweather with short punches which Margarito almost never throws, and he used head movement almost every second of both fights so Mayweather couldn't throw combinations.

It's lonely at the top, and as long as Floyd is there he will have critics inside the ring as well as outside the ring. Every great boxer has critics, but let's face it he is the king of boxing right now and his career has been spotless.

but now he is so far from where he started in terms of weight, It gets more difficult and very interesting...

he has chosen to go up so much, he didnt need to....he needs to prove himself in this division....

if he goes up again then he is possibly beyond his reach....

I agree with you that he should stay away from 154, but I think he will be fine at 147. Boxing needs him and staying at 140 or 135 would not have been as great of challenge that 147 poses, he also knows that these will be bigger payday's for him. The fans deserve to see him fight one of the big three (Hatton, Margarito, Cotto) fighting Mosley or Vargas at any weight would be useless. I don't want a freak accident to happen to him such as the Mosley headbutt against Forrest, after him there is no aire to the throne. You see how hard the fans are on Jermaine Taylor, Winky is no spring chicken, and even though Pac is fierce we have seen him beaten. We need Floyd at 147, he will dominate boxing for the next two years until his skill will start to decline.

Either people dont know or are forgetting/hating just how good PBF is....He's without a doubt HEADS above anyone in the 147 division...or 140 for that matter....he doesn't just win against his opponents...he BEATS his opponents.....by breaking them down(Judah) or destroying them(Gatti)....when he wins people claim his opponents had off night...no...they just fought PBF......

If anybody takes out mayweather, i'll be impressed. He ain't likeable, but he sure can fight.

Mayweather By late TKO, Marg has not fought no one on Mayweather's level!

Toni is not as skilled as PBF but who is?PBF is an amazing boxer but I think Toni still has a legit shot at beating PBF .Toni is not a great boxer so outboxing PBF is out and IMO Toni knows this and i don't think anyone expects Toni to come out boxing. Toni has a good upper cut and great body shot and throws a shitload of different punches and not one at a time. Toni needs to make it a brawl and make PBF fight his fight kind of like PBF vs JLC I. Toni needs to push PBF against the ropes and bang away at the body. Of course PBF will slip some of Toni's punches but i doubt he will be able to get away from all of them especially the ones to the body. What makes it an intersting fight is what will happen when Toni does connect w/ a punch? If he does manage to start wearing PBF down w/ body punching? IMO its to Toni's advantage that he is not a boxer. Trying to outbox PBF is what gets his opponents in trouble, but if Toni does not give PBF breathing room or time to think IMO Toni can Knock PBF out.IMO

the only way anyone could beat mayweather is by going to the body to take away his speed and mobility.
too many of them go for his head and try to knock him out,
but nobody can land flush enough.
i say slow him down with body shots, thats the only way.....
but then again, mayweather is pretty good at covering up his body....
i think the only way someone could beat floyd is if they had more skill, or alot of luck.

CC,that's exactly how I see it. I know Toni will bang away to the body,and I'm sure he will land on Floyd flush and those are 2 of the things I cannot wait to see. You have to remember that P4P is based on skill too and I guess that's where PBF stands out,he is light years ahead of anyone skill wise because you are sooooooo right,look at that level of compeition!!! That is NOT P4P material which is why I have him @number 2,behind Winky.

tonight and against a guy with a better record than those that PBF has been fighting

2.Floyed was given one win with costillo and Costillo has improved greatly and faced

3.Disrepecting Kostya does not help your argument and he looked much more skilled
againstJudah and Sharmbe than PBF did.

4. Clottey knocked the heck out of Carlos Baldomir and Going by boxrec shows you are a newbie and should bot be so over confident in boxing.

5. If you think Floyed is better than Hopkins than you listen to much to HBO propaganda. Mayweather does not have the spirit to ever do what Hopkins or Toney has done.

6.Hatton could beat Floyed at LIGHT welterweight.

7.Dont judge a book by its cover for a fat little man to do the things that Toney has

Well, I guese got over confident with Julio. shoot he had the most impressive ameteur record that I had ever seen with 80 wins, no losses, and 75 KO's. I just wish PBF took those kind of risks.

Attack the body even if you hit the elbowes just puch him in the body and I think IF a big IF you could hit him to the body for about 6-8 rounds he would slow down.

But you also gotta have very very good stamina to finish him off in the later rounds and you also must be able to take a lot of punishment on the way in.

Most people seem think Floyd will win easily and then some people think Margarito has a decent shot at winning, but I haven't heard many people say that he'll just flat out dominate Mayweather. I think some people think Floyd is a F****** tiny WW who hasn't fought a natural welter yet and Margarito isn't just a natural welter, he's a huge one that's also relentless and has good power. That being said I think he'll be too slow for Floyd and he doesn't throw straight enough shots, but at least it's a somewhat interesting matchup, its not a Floyd-Sharmba Mitchell type fight.

I say its wishful thinking. Everytime someone comes along that is getting alot of attention and heralded as the P4P king people start to hate on them. Every fight that Mayweather has some people hate on him. I heard these same arguments being made when he fought Gatti, about how Gatti is stronger and is going to Knock him out. And when Gatti was utterly dominated all of a sudden Gatti was old and washed up and Mayweather was just an opportunist taking advantage of a fighter well past his prime.

I have seen quite a few Margarito fights and he does have power but haven't we seen that Mayweather can take a shot? He has been hit pretty hard before and he has taken it well. Margarito is alot slower than Mayweather and Mayweather is extremely adept at using his speed to his advantage. I look for Mayweather to win this fight easily.

Mayweather has never given me a reason to doubt his ability and I'm not going to start doubting until he does.

That's exactly what it is.Also,Margarito doesn't always throw looping punches,he threw plenty of stright ones against Cintron,mixing it with the looping ones which are sooooo unpredictable.Margarito is not fast but I wouldn't say he was slow slow,again,the Kermit fight is an example of that and not just that but JLC have PBF a tough fight and he's not exactly what I'd call fast in terms of handspeed.And you hit the nail on the head again,Tony is a THREAT,something none of Floyd's last opponent;s for the last 3 years have been.CC oUMA.

when mayweather is scared he is easy to hit, he will be scared for a few seconds, and he will robably just run against margarito for those few seconds...

but he will soon get himself togeather and proceed to hide behind his winnings
