Ricky Hatton has told sky sports in an interview that popular english football talent wayne rooney has been sending him text messages asking him about meeting up some time and having a spar or something!

Then ricky goes on to talk about how we dont want jus england to do well in the world cup but also rooney aswell.

I don't know much about Rooney so I can't say your wrong but are you sure he want's to get in the ring with a world class boxer, Ricky would probably take it easy on him.

ye, i saw an interview of hatton this morning (friday) talking about it.

From what i hear, rooney used to be a good amatuer boxer, i heard he could have made it big in boxing if he continued. only god knows that!

For the so called stamp, i dont no if he meant it or not, but you cant blame Ronaldo, that is sheer stupidity to blame him, we are all angry, we are out, but dont blame Ronaldo.

It wasnt for the stamp, You watch it again and the referee blew for a free kick but didnt go no where near any of his pockets. He only did it when rooney pushed (if you can call it that) ronaldo. Who had run 35 yards to get involved!

The referee said after the game to Sven that he sent him off for HITTING Ronaldo! He has since said it was for a deliberate stamp on calvalho. The referee got it wrong, he is the one who ruined the game!

Rooney did nothing wrong, Ronaldo butting in, influenced the referree and then winked to hi mates after he had done it. Thats why he is getting all this shit and he deserves everything he is getting.

I do believe the ref has got off lightly though, He should be getting the full works for a pathetic job and ruining a good game of football.

His comments that he was trying to gain balance is BullSh!t, how do you gain balance by putting your foot behind you? all the way behind you? and the comment that he was going for the ball is crap too, the ball was in front of him! Him getting sent off was his own fault, not anyone else's. Dont understand why people are blaming C. Ronaldo, his boy just got his Junk stomped on, Yea him and rooney are teamates, but not on that game. No player can make a ref pull out a red card except the player who commited the FOUL!.

This ref was right on, when committing a foul, if it is determined that the foul is "INTENT TO INJUR" a red card CAN be given. This ref took control and authority of this game. BRAVO REF, only if the ref from the hollan vs Portugal game was there, he would of ended the rough playing right at the beginning by sending off Boulahrouz after a viscious tackle on Ronaldo.

Mate if you read my posts im blaming the ref more than anyone. IMO Rooney has done nothing wrong and even FIFA have made a statement saying they are unsure what wayne rooney was sent off for. It was not a delibrate stamp, If someone pulls you back (figo) while another comes through the back of you taking your legs, How are you supposed to stay up??? He had to put his feet somewhere, If anuything the only thing rooney did wrong was stay up, he should have dived on the floor and rolled around 4 times holding his face.
