Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
What is this crap? Why is Jermain such a bitch? Why does he get the free pass on all his fights? Now they want him to fight Mora. Why doesn't he step up and fight the likes of Lacey or Joe C.? Well cause he would get his ass kicked. I'm dissapointed in this chump. Mora? What could Mora do? Well I guess Lou wanted an easy win for Jermain he did say " A fight to showcase his offensive skills"

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
Well Jermain has just fought two of the top P4P of the last 10 years in a row so cut him some slick.
As for Mora HAHAHAHA he would get destroyed!
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
Can't really grudge Taylor an easy one and I reckon Morra would be that easy fight for Taylor. He has fought two of the top fighters recently and this would give him a chance to show some people what he can do.

Honestly...Taylor deserves a weak title defense.
Fighting Hopkins & Winky was the top of the game. Now he can work out in front of his hometown crowd & aim for something a bit more reachable.
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
i think taylor needs a break and mora is the perfect one to... :boxing2:
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
Time to showcase his offensive capabilities like he promised in his next fight. After the last 3 fights its okay for him to want to remind people the things that made him so exciting to them.
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
isnt mora a little on the small side for jermain? i dont begrudge him it tho, if it happens tho mora will just run and jermain will get a UD.
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
well....Mora is prime for an a**wuppin......and Taylor is just the person to give it to him.....Where you at "PRIDE"?????.....Mora's going down...... :jabbing:
-
Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
I recall Taylor whooped Mora in the olympic trials. mafiajoey you are a dumbass lacy and calzaghe arent even in taylors weight class, and he just fought the two toughest opponents he could have possibly taken in his last three fights. abraham took his first defense against shannon taylor, sturm's will be against castillejo, and jermain's was against hopkins followed by wright! damn people are hard on taylor.

Why do you hate Taylor so much? Who should he fight in his weight division? There is no need for him to move up in weight so why should he fight Lacey or Joe? There is nobody calling for those fights. Please explain all of this to us, since you have been here you havent done anything except hate on Taylor. Start backing up your argument with some facts.

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
YEEESSSSSS!!!! IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR THAT LOUD MOUTH NOBODY TO GET KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT. This is as close to a sure bet for Taylor as anything. Mora, no power whatsoever with extremely average defense, will be knocked out cold in the 3rd or 4th round.

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
Walk in the park for Jermain Taylor, he should be able to put on a showcase in this fight.

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
alright, alright. I respect the way JT carries himself but let me ask you all one question and if you could all answer this with your best and honest answer. If JT would have gotton the other side of things meaning if he wasn't the chosen one and had 3 losses in a row which could have easily happened then there wouldn't be so many jt nug huggers on here. So what if he lost his last three? Would he have been written off some what?

You know...that's a good question...
Let me say this...had Jermain Taylor lost the first fight with Hopkins...which he actually did...& then won the rematch...which he legitly did...I woulda had much much more respect for him.
Now...he lost to Wright...plain & simple...he lost on agression & he lost on punch stats.
Had he lost the last 3 fights...I'd be torn because I really really liked Taylor coming into the game as the throne man had Hopkins retired...but the way that he has been handed the decisions of late...I just aint that high on him anymore.
It's not Taylor's fault that the judges & HBO get it wrong...but it does shine a shat light on him.

If he would of lost the first Hopkins fight, he would of got a rematch cuz it was close.  A second loss would of ended any chance of a Wright fight.  And yes a good amount of people of written him off.  Even if he would of became champion after Hopkins retired he would of always been dogged with the fact he couldn't beat Hopkins.  it would of took a dominating championship run for him to shake that label.  Which i doubt would of happened. Good enough for you?

So now what? Who can challenge him? Will he go up in weight? Or will he just play it safe the rest of the way and try to ride these three wins?

He's the Middleweight Champion. He'll always have challenges. Rather he won or lost. His last 3 fights were against big names. And they were all close fights. Should he have won them all? I ain't much of a Taylor fan, so I don't really care. But you ain't got to be a fan of his to see the quality his pass 3 opponents were. And plus, I want to see Mora get knocked out. Which is the main reason i agree Taylor needs an easy fight.

If he would have lost the two fights to Hopkins by the scores he won them by I would not have written him off. He would be viewed as what he is, a young fighter still on a learning curve. Losing two very close fights in a row to arguably the #1p4p fighter is nothing to be written off about. If he had lost then the Wright fight would have never happened. He has his flaws, but it seems with the switch to ES he will be working on those and getting better. I dont consider myself a JT nut hugger, I just get tired of everybody bashing and hating on him for something that he had nothing to do with. He fought the best he could and it was left to the judges. They scores are out of his hands. It was against the two best at 160 and he gave them both a better fight than the majority of their previous opponents, nothing to hang his head for.
I think everybody agrees Mora just needs to get bashed up. I want it to be a late round stoppage, cuz I want Mora to get some major punishment.

Agreed...but it's all in the way that he won...I think that people are a bit hard on Taylor...but it's a bit hard to swallow watching a kid win two fights that he clearly did not win.

When Taylor destroys Mora, does he get Mora's little contender belt too?

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
Good fight for Taylor, easy money, great title defense. And good fight for The Latin Snake Mora, fighting with the champion, in the "real world", and if he loose, he loose against the champion, so what?
I want to see it, just to know what happen...

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
this is a hella weak fight.
mora isnt even on JTs level.
this is why nobody watches boxing and MMA is on the rise
there are always great fighters fighting great fighters in MMA
why can't boxers man up and always fight the best.
why is there only no more than 5 great matchups in boxing per year?
i dont think thats enough to bring in new customers let alone keep existing customers.

The only reason that MMA has gotten a shot in the arm is the fact that cable has now reached the majority of trailer parks around the world...that is the only reason MMA is on the rise. ;D

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
haha its all good,
i respect wacks enough to not take it personally.
but i still stand by my statement
boxers need to man up and fight the best all the time
only then will boxing have a "punchers chance" against MMA
on a sidenote, i can't wait to see Mora get knocked the fuck out.
he said on The Contender show that if he ever got knocked out, he would quit boxing forever.
mora is a cocky MF that doesn't show respect in the ring.

Ofcourse. Never take anything I say personally...seriously...anyone.
Everyone knows the Wack is fulla shat in the first place.
It's all in fun.
That being said...I just can't get into the MMA matches.

MMA HATERS UNITE!!! ;)

Re: Segio Mora VS Jermain Taylor
I like MMA so ununite me.
Anyway I think this will be a better fight. If Mora has anything it's defense we'll just forget the left hook he caught and got dropped with in his last fight. I think he would do well against Jermain Taylor. Mora may not be very good, but Taylor doesn't look like the type of fighter to take advantage of another fighters shortcomings.
Jermain will win a close decision but Mora will give a good account of himself.
Either that or win the first round and get knocked out in the second stanza
