He's a pretty good supermiddleweight prospect from Quebec... Lucian Bute is better though imo, he is really one to look for. Pascal fought Darnell Boone in his last fight I think it's the one you mean, and yea he did a whole lot of taunting and posing, I didn't really like it, but he did still dominate and landed good combos whenever he let his hands go. Good prospect, basically, I think he and Bute are deserving of more mention, both are very solid prospects as much as Chad Dawson or Allen Green imo.
Whats Lucian Bute like? ANd have you seen more of Pascal? all I've seen is that one fight and because it was a replay it was only rounds 1,2,3 7, 9 and 10 I think
All I saw was the Boone fight as well. The guy is a total RJJ wannabee. Which isn't necesarly a bad thing, but he is easy to hit. Seems to do the Roy Jones styler better than Andre Ward though IMO. But he ain't on Chad Dawson's level yet that's for sure. Dawson just beat Eric Harding.
Pascal was in the ring magazine... He was the best amateur at his weight, but because of problems with him as a immigrant competing for Canada he had like 3-4 weeks to prepare for the Olympics... but he IMO is the best prospect at the SMW, and maybe in boxing as a whole out there... He has a better power than Ward, roughly as quick and a far better chin.
He seems like a real fighter. I will have to watch out for him.. any fights of notice?
Great natural athlete with great strength and speed. Relies a lot of times too much on natural abilities and sometimes gets lazy in his defense so is prone to getting hit although has yet to really be hit clean by someone. Sometime next year should see chance at world title. He could be in line to have a head to head with Bute another great Quebec super middleweight in near future.
You can def. see RJJ things in the way Pascal fights. Now are is the next RJJ? I strongly doubt that...
I will say I like the way they've brought him along in his career.
I've seen about 3 of his last fights. I saw the Boone fight which to be honest the only thing that was impressive was his hand speed but nothing else. I'm starting to question his punching power. :detective:
Hell yes and he is damm good. One of the many good fighters in Mointreal right now. C'est bon!
RJJ no he's not. He's not as slick a fighter especially when it comes to making people miss with shots. He's close in hand speed i'd say but RJJ was in another class than other boxers in his prime.
I like to see him face better competition
pascall anint that good, he is a guy who they got a hard on for in ontario vcuz he is frrence
Jean Pascal's mother has heard of him she was quoted in saying
" Jean is my son and yes ive heard of him " ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Jean apparently was supposed to be fighting Rubin Williams in his last fight and that's a step up, I wonder who he'll fight next, probably that guy Hopkins beat 3 times( I forget his name)
I think ur talking about Robert Allen ...Not much of a step up guy is 38 and last 3 guys he fought have big time losing records
Is that suppose to be funny?Quote:

Has he fought since? I remember hearing about a year and a half ago that he was the next big thing but seems like Bute's career is moving faster.
Yea, Bute is definetly moving along better.. Pascal did fight recently on the undercard of Ngoudjo vs Bailey when they had FNF in Montreal.. He was supposed to fight Rubin Williams who pulled out I believe, the replacement was Christian Cruz(who Bute beat in one of his very early fights..) Pascal did look very good I thought though, Cruz was a tough guy and took a lot of good shots all fight.Quote:

Actually Sugar Shane is who I thought of when I first saw him. It was against this white guy with a shaved head, guy had a lot of fights, can't remember his name though.Quote:

If he improves his defense he's deadly. He has tendency's when he back's out from in close to not back up enough so leaves potential for a real fast counter puncher to tag him. That and him not trying to rely so much on natural reflexes to make guys miss.
