:appl: nice choice Frauyd
:pis2: p4p no.1
but then again its probably incorrect and he will fight one of the top of his division like he did when he was a lightweight. :-X
talk is cheap Floyd its time to step up and earn that p4pno.1 label.

Not that I think Cintron has anything for Floyd...but it would have been a better match up & it would have silenced a bunch of critics.

Dangerous fight. But an easy fight. If he knocked out Cintron in less time then Margarito it may answer some questions.
Why doesn't he fight Margarito? Oh well, I guess Margarito should fight a tuneup against Sharmba Mitchell or that ghanan guy.
True...they are a bit trigger happy...but this from some reason...just doesn't shock me that much. I'm disappointed because I wanted to see him face Oscar or Hatton...next in line being Margarito...but I suppose that maybe this was a one way shot at filling the date?Quote:

No one knows what's going on in a fighter's head though. Maybe Floyd wants Cintron as a barometer for Margartio...I don't know though.
I wouldn't have passed up that "Arum $8 mill no strings attatch deal" if all was on the up & up for the Margarito fight. Who knows for a fact what the deal was though.
I suppose we shall all just sit back, relax, debate, & wait & see.
cintron.....wtf!?!?!
Agreed. :coolclick:Quote:

That's my only thoughts.

i still dont think this is true, cuz boxrec has made look foolish many times, by me telling people about these fights they say are on........when in fact there was no truth to them whatsoever
cc hairdoo, for being on the ball ;)
Agreed. I'm a huge Mayweather fan...& I can't see the logic of fighting Cintron...a former victim of Margarito...I seriously doubt that there are many dollars & cents/sense involved in this one.Quote:

I have no idea what Floyd is thinking, if this is indeed true. It's chickenshit, and Im a big fan of him. I think if he actually is fighting this guy, it is just a safe fight because he believes he will still fight DLH in May and doesn't want to risk it whatsoever. But that's pretty weak, and this fight isn't until November either, Cintron... What a joke. If Floyd took this fight in two weeks notice then I could maybe understand. The only other thing that's kind of funny is..... If this fight does go ahead, then Floyd went for DLH... Can you imagine how pissed off Margarito would be? I mean, Floyd doesn't ever fight him, just takes the guy he beat easily in his biggest fight instead as a tune up for his mega fight? I think that almost might be a part of it, Floyd might just be trying to spite Tony's camp or something. This is a big let down though, Floyd shouldn't have any defence for this one. I mean granted his last fight was a big one and a dangerous fight against Judah, but if he's only going to fight twice a year then he needs to fight the best, not lame tune ups.

cc for you
Can't see it. I mean, theres no real money in it is there?
If Kermit still had his '0' then maybe this might generate the neccesary numbers, but as it stands Kermits 'damaged goods' aint he?
They'd have to try and sell it as a competitve fight based on Kermit having a punchers chance...but Floyds embarrased so many noted bangers that it's a complete no brainer for me.
If it is true (and Boxrec are quick with stuff but it's not 100% reliable) oerhaps it's a precursor to something else...dunno...you guys tell me... :-\
Cintron vs Estrada was for the IBF eliminator #2 spot,On boxrec Cintron is scheduled to fight Richard Gutierrez before facing mayweather. It might turn out to be a mandatory defence. I still think he should not face Cintron.
I'll have a pound on Cintron knocking him out, anyone?
Mate...have you seen Floyd/Corrales?
I have mentioned being a Cintron fan. This makes me very happy. ;D
Fixed for you my fellow mod. ;DQuote:

In all seriousness the risk reward doesnt weigh up, Cintron blew it against Margarito, but he's no mug and if he is still around after four or five rounds, which you would expect him to be he might start getting a bit ambitious, he's a big boy is Kermit, and he can punch.
Texas? god damit only steers and queers come from Texas and you dont look much like a steer so I guess that kinda narrows it down.
Agreed. That's the way I see it. Look good before you take the biggie with what seems a sure bet.Quote:

He slipped in on Floyd as some presser recently & Floyd was talking about making the fight but for it to be down the line so that they could build up the rivalry...seriously folks...when casual boxing fans that fly by the seat hear that Floyd's gonna fight Margarito in a Super Fight the first thing that will come to mind is... "Margarito? I thought it was Morales."
Margartio needs some more showings on HBO. Build that shat up if your'e going to sell it.
this just makes me really sad
cause it wont even be a fight
cintron aint in his league
nor will he ever be
aside from that
this wont prove a thing
and its pathetic
if youre going to stay away from margarito
and give another fighter his Chance
cintron aint worthy of fighting floyd
and if floyd still needs tune ups
how can he be the no 1 pfp
Why was everyone so hyped when Cintron beat Estrada and hyping him up about it. Btu now they downgrade him when he may get a fight with Floyd?
It's because Estrada is C level fighter, sweetheart. It's to big of a jump for him to face FloydQuote:

so why go out and fight kermit who margarito whooped??
doesnt make sense
less money
weaker fighter
less "glory" for pbf
but this is a boxrec source, and we all know that they are far from reliable
ive been surfing the net like crazy, and cant find any other site that makes the slightest reference towards this fight
i hope to god this is more boxrec bs
I don't think its anything new. They always match up a fighter with someone they beat to see what would happen next because they look for the common opponent. You know how fans love to say, well your fighter struggled with this fighter, but my fighter knocked him out in 6!
So you see it opens up debate. If Floyd stops Cintron before Margarito did, then it would answer some questions and open debate. But I think if its true its another business move by Floyd and its very similar to what Leonard did to Hearns before fighting him the first time.
Although Cintron is not as fast as Corrales, he is much bigger and stronger. Too slow for Fraud I think but with that kind of power, you never know.Quote:

Floyd is going to get hit early and never recover. that long lanky str8 Cintron punch will catch Floyd right on the puss early ! And game over. And we all know Margarito handed Cintron a good ole fashioned beat down. . but I just have a feeling about this one. Its one of those shockers that happen every so often in boxing.
