UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
This is the most interesting fight card I've ever seen! I guess this one will be recorded on UFC history, The battle between Tito Ortiz and Shamrock, the humors said, that the old man Shamrock have to retire after the UFC 61! Hmmmmmm...why so? Will Tito destroy Shamrock? Well for me it is easy for Tito to beat Shamrock (no doubt)!
Here's the fight card:

Who are you rooting for?

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
I'll be rootin for Shamrock even though there is a good chance he'll get his ass whipped again. I've always liked the sucker since the first UFC. And Tito is a punk. He was clearly scared against Chuck Liddell and got spanked literally by Randy Coutre. In the main event, I like Arlovski, but Tim ain't a bad guy either. I think Arlovski will get him though.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
I like Ken but he did nothing to deserve this fight, and in my opinion Tito lost his last fight to Griffin. So I hope Ken wins and retires, but I doubt either will happen. I'll pick AA to win but I'm more interested in how Monson and Mir do in their bouts. Its a good card with some fights that out to be very entertaining but not the main events.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
Im rooting for Tito Ortiz against Shamrock. Shamrock should have just shut up and moved on after his first loss to Ortiz but i guess it was his way of ticking Ortiz off to lure him back into a rematch. TUF3 showed what a douche Shamrock is.
Arlovski, i would love to see him shut Sylvia up. Depends how he comes into this fight though, i believe he did take Sylvia too lightly in their second bout and Syliva will defo be coming into this bout full of confidence. Will be an interesting bout.

Sylvia tested positive for roids after his fight (a win) against Gan McGee. He was taking a type of steroids that makes one look more cut.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
Aye. Which is why he was stripped of his HW title and Mir became HW champ.

I am but a humble stupid UFC fan, but I was under the impression that Frank Mir broke his arm, defeating him for the HW title. Perhaps Mir was defending the title against Sylvia though. Either way I hate Frank Mir.

Aye initially Sylvia won the HW belt by defeating Ricco. He defended it coupla times, but then was stripped of it cus he tested positive in them roids tests. Mir then won the title and defended it against Sylvia in his comeback fight, and Mir broke his arm. Mir was then set to face Arlovski but had that motorbike accident and failed to fight Arlovski who was announced as interim HW champ. Sylvia recovered from his broken arm and fought against Arlovski for the HW title and lost that time around and so on.

Why what happend? I didin't order it. Was it boring? Who won the two big rival fights? Tito and Arlovski I would guess. But I hope Shamrock somehow pulled it out.

Sylvia got a UD and shamrock unfortunately got tkoed in the first round. At least sylvia won, been a fan of his for a while. Wish ken had of won though.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
arlovski may as well go back to washing dishes.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
To explain what happened in a bit more detail Tito got Shamrock on the ground and against the cage then landed a huge elbow! you see it really hurts Ken as his arms open up and alow Tito to land another 5 or 6 big elbows forcing the ref to stop the fight.
Ken shamrock then gets straight up and protests the stoppage even though he could not inteligentely defend himself.

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
Post UFC 61 thoughts: After watching one of the most hyped UFC events ever, one cannot help but be dissapointed. The possible comeback of a used up Shamrock fed the anticipation right up until his initial attack was crushed and he ended up on his back, once again, with Ortiz pounding on him. You might thing that of all the training Shamrock did in preparation for this event, he might have sharpened up his bottom/back skills, where he is absolutely abysmal. He is not going to take Ortiz or any other respectable modern wrestler down, so he might have anticipated spending some time in that position. The filler fights were pathetic, from the first bloody mess onwards. Here is a huge question for the UFC as it attempts to polish its image: why not clean up the puddles of blood? It looks horrid and barbarc. What fighter wants to get caught on his back in another fighter's puddle of blood? And why not stop the fight earlier? -- even if the bleeding fighter can continue? I'm sorry, but the bloodied warrior image is something that really doesn't need to be a part of this. And the final fight was with Arlovski and Sylvia was no more than a 3rd tier boxing match. What has been boxer couldn't have wasted either of them? There was obviously some huge caution for either of them to go to the ground. Arlovski was not going to take Sylvia down -- Sylvia, though absolutely one dimensional, is so tall and awkwardly strong, he is nearly impossible to take down; he's an ungainly goofball, but uses his dorky resources to his best advantage. His punches are short and on target -- and with his long arms and shoulderless upper body, he cam direct them with deadly efficiency. However, against a 3rd tier pro boxer, he, or Arlovsky, would be far outclassed. So what we were left with was a 4th rate boxing match with two guys that quickly bored us to death with their very limited boxing skills. As much as the Ortiz fight was anticlimactic in its sudden ending, this one was anticlimactic in its incredibly boring duration. 'Scuse me, but diesn't Arlovsky remember how to kick? Doesn't he spend hours every week training kicks? Or anything else, rather than just his two step boxing routine?

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
the fights that weren't showed on tv actually were the best of the night. Hats off to Josh Burkman though, tough fight with neer and he came out w/the win

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
I'm sort of thinking that if Slyvia is the antithesis of what a fighting human being should look like. Hiw gangly, awkward posture is something that is made even worse looking by his one dimensional fighting style and his excessively primitive facial expressions -- all of which are superbly enhanced by his 'make my look at stupid as you can' haircut and facial hair. This unfortunate combination has to cause any normal person to want him to lose, which naturally is something that is frustrating, since he is winning. One wonders why? What about him makes him a good fighter? I really cannot tell. I do know that being shoulderless seems to give him a more precise punching range -- its also possible that certain primitive elements give him an edge over more civilized individuals: this situation naturally doesn't augur well for those who think technique and skill will serve them well in an event that seems to be replacing professional boxing as a combative spectator sport. How will the future fighters train, if they realize this? Perhaps lobotomies will become popular once again....or some other procedure that diminishes the IQ...

Re: UFC 61:Bitter Rivals: The Fight card!
Sucks Shamrock got stomped again by Tito. Thats just pathtetic after all the hype. I'm surprised no one was KO'd in the main event though. Specially if they kept it on their feet the whole time. And yes Sylvia is a huge ogre looking fuck. He's tuff though.
