premature stoppage >:mad
Have you seen it? I saw it today and it was an ass whooping and it wasn't about to get any better for Shamrock ;D He only shot right up because the ref came in and stopped Tito from hammering him. Seriously, Shamrock went through 3 rounds of that last time and he looked like the living dead..which is also what he said he would beat Tito into lol amazing how the talk backfired...
Shamrock "I will beat you into the living dead."
but he only took lke 3 bows b4 it was stopped, that damn cage is so unecesary, they should just get a ring, oriz would be lost against shamrock without that gay cage
they said during the main event that WANDERLEI SILVA - CHUCK LIDDEL is gonna happen :D :D :D
rampage KTFO chuck lidell, and silva nearly killed rampage twice... lidell is gonna be sorry
i dont understand why dana white has such a hardon for lidell, whenever he has to use a guy to represent the UFC its lidell
UFC - vs - PRIDE - lidell was his main man
kurt angle says he will beat anyone in a 4, 6 or 8 sided ring in a kayfabe promo, dana white says lidell will fight him
SILVA - white wants lidell to fight him
Win Chuck Liddell TKO (Strikes) PRIDE-Final Conflict 2003 11/9/2003 2 3:10
yea, rampage did KTFO him

White likes Liddell for the same reason Dibella likes Taylor, he beat his last guy(Hopkins) like Liddell beat Dana's last guy(Ortiz) it's all politics. But the fact that Chuck WAS Tito's best friend and he never ever wanted to fight him he didnt even if ever throw a punch, but Chuck thumbed him in the eye and finished him off. If they ever fought again Chuck is catching a beatdown ;) And oh yea Shamrock would beat Ortiz without the cage ::** Just like he beat Fujita right? ;DQuote:

Bad stoppage or not, I could care less. It ain't boxing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNkIL...0vs%20shamrock
i hope this is it.....but IMO stoppage looked legit, as far as UFC goes.....
i still love when chuck kick the livin baJeesus out of ortiz...
all that smack talk, then, Boom KTFO
You could also make the argument that Tito and Vitor bet Wanderlei handily...and Chuck trounced both of them. I respect Wanderlei and he is a great fighter. Top 10 PFP in the world, but I don't understand the disdain for Chuck. He has one of the best resumes in MMA in the world. He has wins over Couture, Horn, Sobral, Tito, Vitor, Bustamante, Mezger, Monson, Randleman, and Overeem. This fight could go either way and I'm sure it will be a barn burner, but lets not just hand it to Silva b/c he fights in a better org.Quote:

And as for the piss poor Silvia fight...Neither fighter won that matchup..but the champ is the champ, and the contender must take it from him...so it was rightfully called ....
The Shamrock fight was stopped just in the nick of time, actually. SHamrock's head was bouncing off the ring floor from the force of unanswered elbows, and he wasn't about to retaliate. Sure, after he got up and started acting as if he'd been robbed, someone who had not actually seen the elbows crashing into his head might have thought it was an unfair call; and yes, if you could restart a fight, it might have been interesting to see if Shamrock could have launched a modest rally...I doubt it though. Most of the drama between him and Tito is imaginative at this point. Tito is clearly dominant, and Shamrock should retire. Sorry, he's over the hump and ain't comin back....
The Franklin/shamrock fight was rigged. White asked him to dive to promote Franklin. I taqped it and watched it in slow-mo. Shamrock just maginally let him out of the leg lock, slid into second base one time and did absolutely nothing to protect himself against Franklin's shots as it was ending.
I actually emailed white to ask him why they rigged it but he never got back to me. >:mad

the way i look at it MMA threads get to live for a while in the boxing board, then tehy go to thier home in MMA, it allows them more exposureQuote:

Mate he hit the deck under the barrage of blows and was not getting up. When BJM stopped the fight wandy was still on the deck in space. IF it would have been allowed to carry on wandy would have taken more punishment. The fight was lostQuote:

So yeah, a bit premature IMHO...
The thing is, you can't say had they not stopped it, Silva would of came back and knocked Vitor out. Silva wasn't that great of a fighter at the time, and even if allowed to continue no way would he of dealt with Vitor's handspeed. Of course today is a different story, but that was then.Quote:

I didn't know that or I would have kept my mouth shut, if the original post was put in the boxing forum then Violent Demise's post is something I would expect to see. Is there a way to distinguish where a post originated. ?Quote:

rich franklyn said it was a bad stoppage
he said if it was a rookie it would be ok, but for a shamrock it should continue

First of all, I have to chime in on the Silva/Belfort fight. I don't care if Belfort only landed two punches. Two punches is twice as many as it takes in NHB fighting. Silva got caught (repeatedly) and he was DONE in that fight. Anyone can get caught though and Silva has proven that he has a great chin. Belfort's hands are blazing fast though and everything worked "just right" for him. Silva was a great fighter then... and he has been a great figher for a long time now. Belfort is such a underachiever and he knows it. It kinda makes me mad. He seems to be a great guy. I really hope he comes back around. The guy has such tremendous talent.
Anyway, the Ortiz/Shamrock fight was certainly a letdown. I was pretty upset at the stoppage initially, but after watching it a few times I realized 3 things. 1) Shamrock got nailed like five times and he wasn't protecting himself. His hands where up but they certainly weren't protecting his head. How many more would it have taken to seriously damage him? Maybe one or maybe none. I don't know, but I definitely don't want to see anyone seriously hurt out there. 2) In all honesty, suppose he survived that initial barrage, how much better do you think he could have done? Personally, I think he was in for a butt whoopin' any way you look at it. Ortiz may have gotten tired (a la the forest griffin fight), but I believe he was in far better shape this time around and shamrock isn't a forest griffin calibre fighter these days. 3) To be truthful, I was only upset due to the fact that I wanted to see a longer fight, not because the fight didn't need to be stopped. There was a lot of hype going into this and it was a let down to have it last less than a minute and twenty seconds... I'm sure my girlfriend has felt that way about me quite a few times.
P.S= Go silva!!
she's fine with it because she's getting action with von milash. (hey now!) ;D ;)
Hey ENT, any chemical companies down there in SCarolina? I'm looking to move south... as close as possible to Myrtle Beach. I'm sick of the F'in snow!
If you're looking for chemical companies look no further than here in Augusta SC/Ga. I'm not kidding. I can't be for certain of the exact numbers, but I suppose the bulk of jobs out here are from the plants, etc... As far as the rest of the state, I'm really not certain, but I'd bet there are plenty. ;D
apparentley tim sylvia was going to clubs in vegas wearing his championship belt
Argh. Arlovski is the man. The first two fights were great, but this last one sucked. Neither man looked like themselves.
Thanks, I'll have a look. cc my man.Quote:

Also check out the Wilmington, NC area. I live in NC, and literally just got back from vacationing in Myrtle. I saw a ton of factories in the Wilmington area. Its only about 50 minutes north of Myrtle Beach, all highway, so it may be practical if you're staying near the NC/SC border (which is where Myrtle is, just in case you weren't familiar).
AND TO BE ON TOPIC:
I think that the fight was definately called prematurely, especially considering Herb was stepping in after the first or second elbow, if you watch in the background. I definately agree that there was no chance in hell that Shamrock would win, but I feel they should have let it carry on for just a few more seconds just in case.
And to be quasi-on-topic:
Shamrock completely decimated Fujita. His sorry ass just quit because wittle baby was too tiwed.(thats "too tired" in baby speak)
cc D, thanks!
It's amzing how many times you think a guy is done, then the ref doesn't stop it, and the guy comes back. Then you see another fight and what looks like a beating is left to continue. I thought there were times when Liddell knocked down Horn with good, clear shots that in other fights were worthy of immediate stoppage. Horn eventually threw in his own towel, but still....
another very early UFC fight was between 2 guys i don't know.... one muscular white guy and one very big N American indian. The indian looked dead but the ref let it continue and sure enough, 10seconds later he got the KO with one shot.
You thinking of Tank Abbot vs John "Chief" Matua?
http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/f...?FighterID=111
That was the one where Tank slugged him real good a few times, dropping him to his knees more than once, then finally got a big KO on him.
The stoppage was premature. It was obvious that Shamrock was getting pummeled, but was he being hurt? Ive seen Matt Hughes take some nasty ground and pound then get up and still win the fight. If Shamrock was senseless or bloody then Id say the stopapge was justified.
