Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Take a look at the records of their competition.
hmmm, seems one fights guys with not so great records while the other fights guys with very good records. If these two every get in the ring together i know who my money is on.

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Joe EASY...perhaps the easiest title fight out there
at any weight class

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Don't just say things hoping that Royal will see and cut himself... I think Calzaghe would be too much in general and overwhelm him with speed and volume, but you can't just say it would be a cakewalk automatically, Kessler has alot of power and a very good jab, and is also a very good boxer... Lacy was 1 of 3 in those areas... If Kessler trained like a demon there's no reason the fight couldn't be super competitive, imo.

Huge fan of both Kessler & Calzaghe...but Calzaghe would smoke Kessler.
No matter how well Kess trains...he's just got to many open ended flaws that he relies on his chin & power to cope with.
Watch him fight. He backs out with his hands low & he ALWAYS throws his power shots, backs out, drops his hands, & checks the work...big mistake from Kess that Calzaghe would capitalize on.
Kessler has to be the one doing all the leg work.
Check out the Mundine fight & the Siaca fight. He was fine walking them down...not backing up though.

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
It might be a cagey affair for a few early rounds, but Calzaghe's output and speed would begin to tell from the 4th onwards....Calzaghe would work a relatively simple UD IMO...
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
I'd take Calzaghe, because I'm not really sold on Kessler yet because he has really fought much top compition. But Kessler has the size & power to make things differcult if he is for real.

CC. I could make a post but it would be saying the same exact thing.
Kessler backing up = Venerable

:coolclick: right back.
Really dig on Kess...but a fact is a fact. His defense is so leaky...makes me wonder if they should add a gotdam plumber to his corner. ;D

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
JC via UD OR stoppage,I don't know how good Kessler's chin is and it needs to be good,he'll be getting hit alot. I also think he comes across as wooden and slightly robotic, you need to be mobile to beat JC.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
(next opponent) Doesn't count... for all we know Joe C. is fighting some one like Winky Wright or Glen J.
Why is it pointless comparing records at this point in time? The thread assumes that they are going to fight [u]at this point in time... ::**
Unless you love Kessler so much you've made a time machine to freeze Joe Calzaghe in till Kessler is ready to fight him its anything but pointless.
If Manny Siace is on Kessler's list... why isn't Chris Eubank on Joe C.'s list? Thats who they both got their titles off... yet it only goes on Kessler's list?
Sorry... you're to Biased to be aloud to talk about this any more... ::**
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
i have seen Kessler fight in three Championship fights, he is a good danerous boxer, but he wouldnt live with Cazlaghe, it's as simple as that.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
The fact is that if they fight at this point in time then their records at this point in time are extremely relevant... ::**

Other than him being from Denmark... ::**

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
IMO Kessler is a quality boxer, however Joe would box rings round him and win a UD. But it would have its moments.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
why haven't they actually fought? have there been talks of them fighting? and this has to be on HBO or Showtime if they ever did get together.
and just curious 44 but why 44 is it like the 44th reincarnation of royal or something ? ;D id like to see a recent kess fight, id like to see what hes all about.

You are talking about fighting, I am talking about comparing resumes
this thread is about comparing resumes for the purpose of them fighting... ::**
And don't even bother trying to deny that you are Royal... idiot. Its so fucking Blatant... new members with no posts don't leap all over Kessler threads and argue with forum members as if they have been here for ages... you have been here for ages...
Are you trying to create the impression of a conspiracy on this forum against any one who says that Kessler would beat Joe Calzaghe? haha thats some funny shit!
These user accounts get banned because they are all from a racist piece of shit called Royal... I think you know him?
70/30 in Kessler's backyard and only 50/50 in Joes? HAHAHAHA thats hilarious... they could fight any where and Joe would be 80/20 everytime...
Joe comes forwards throwing combinations from angles whilst defending... Kessler throws a shot or two... rarely a combination and then backs up with his hands down... It would be embarrassing... he is custom made for an arse kicking.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Did you pull 'lacy KO3' out of your arse or what?
Idiot... I picked Joe Calzaghe by a UD which got less competative for Jeff Lacy as it went on... which is exactly what happened...
If you're sad enough you can read through my posts and find out...
Moron.
Why Wouldn't Kessler get beaten? (I don't want to here "Jeff Lacy wasn't that good... bla bla bla") I want to hear what tools Kessler has to beat Joe Calzaghe... he is a solid boxer but he doesn't have the tools to cope with Joe Calzaghe...
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
dont mind me just taking out the trash :)
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
:army: :flush:
I don't know why he keeps on coming back... He can't argue his way out of a wet paper bag... and when you add the fact that he never manages to disguise the fact that he is Royal or be cival enough not to get banned all you end up with is a biased fan boy who can't last on here long enough to make a point...
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
If hes happy wasting his time to get on here im happy to push a button and zap him ;)
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
It'll be funny seeing how long it takes for him to get bored... bloke needs a life... the amount of time he dedicates coming on here despite not being wanted for the soul purpose of reminding us how great Kessler is is sad.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
The guy needs to get a freaking life!!! The CD is on repeat and there is no stop button with this dude :-\ ;D

"Comparing the record of Calzaghe and Kessler is plain stupid at this point in time"
i guess royal posted that because i cant find it. must have been pulled.
it seems to me that if kess beats beyer then kess should be the next fight for joe. so comparing their past opponents is very relavent.
one thing that i dont quite get is that some people (person) keep saying that kess is to big for joe. how can that be? if kess is taller and they both come in at 168 how can kess be bigger as in muscles? anyway , my money is on joe.

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Whats really sad is that I saw the name of the last person who posted in this thread... and that alone was a blatant give away to it being Royal...
Pick a better name... They're to blatant.

Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
And every one is aware of Kessler's strengths and Weakness'... the problem is that he has never faced any one good enough to exploit them yet...
Are you telling me that Kessler has no Weaknesses and if he did... anybody could go in the ring and exploit them? Come on... you and me both know that boxing is alot more complicated than that.
If Kessler's defence is so tight... I would like to know how a shorter lighter man was practicly hitting him at will in light sparring (which makes it mostly skill based) when he was ment to be Kessler's sparring partner...

Not sure that I agree with that 100%. He's faced some good fighters...just not a great like Calzaghe. Also...I think that people would have been surprised at the outcome of a Lacy fight.
Just because Calzaghe whooped Lacy does not mean Lacy is a joke.
That should be recognized by a certain somebody that refuses to acknowledge Calzaghe's greatness.

Kessler has weaknesses.

I hate to sound smug...but I've said it 100 times...Kess has a weak defense...he also backs out with his hands down & is only most effective when applying pressure.
It will be his downfall.
Every fighter has flaws.
Lacy, Calzaghe, Kess, Winky, Hopkins, Taylor, Sturm, Oscar...all of them...it's in recognizing what your favorite fighters lack that makes watching boxing that much more entertaining.

Don't make me post pics of...... The awesome punching power of Mikkel Kessler

Calzaghe definitely got a high workrate, but look at his fights against counterpunchers, and guys who move around very fluidly. He definitely struggles. People have exploded into favoring him due to his absolute beating of Lacy, but others see it as the evidence that Lacy is lacking all over the place.
Kessler is a definition boxer. He has decent to good power, and one of the better jabs out there. He won't be caught dead standing in front of Joe, and hardly ever throws from in the pocket. He's a guy I like to watch a lot because he doesn't stand and swing. Joe's biggest problem will can he chase a younger man around for 12 rounds, use his biggest asset, his workrate, and not gas out at 34.
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
From what I seen in the fight with Lacy, yes he can go with the youngsters all night long
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
So Kessler can punch huh?
Kessler 37 wins 28 KO's = 75.6%
Calzaghe 41 wins 31 KO's = 75.6%
Lacy 21 wins 17 KO's = 80.9%
Well hot damn, Jeff Lacy is still the best power puncher at 168
-
Re: Joe C. vs Kessler...you decide
Kessler's defense against Soliman in the sparring tape looked ordinary, but he took Mundine's jab (terrific jab) away for large portions of the fight and blocked most of Mundine's flurries (handspeed comparable to Calzaghe). He also beat Soliman up quite badly in hard sparring before the Mundine fight.
His defense seems to be based on blocking with his guard rather than slipping but this seems common among a lot of European guys. I think he backed away with low hands against Mundine and Siaca because they were being controlled and were timid about coming after him. Mundine is a safety first fighter who won't open up until he establishes his confidence while Siaca was flat out getting the snot beaten out of him.
I think Calzazghe will beat him but not because he's weak defensively, rather that Joe is much quicker on his feet, throws a lot more leather and is a southpaw which will mess with his jab (which everything seems to start with for Kess)
