Agreed. He needs more experience before challenging too highly....he isnt ready for 12 rounders yet!!!
He can punch though!! But needs to work on the basics a little more. Stamina does help ;D

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
so he'll be in line for his second Pro loss then?

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
How is he ranked over Grigory Drozd? or Vadim Tokarev? or even Enzo Maccarinelli?
-
Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
Haye is the EBU champ which carries alot of weight with the WBC, see Junior Witter also.

i agree but i think he could beat any of the current crop of young heavyweights britain have and it might spark some excitement into the division, scott gammer as british champion does'nt do alot for the heavyweight scene
-
Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
I honestly don't think he can take the power of a Heavyweight.
Hayes last fight.... he seemed to struggle even shifting his opponent with some heavy punches early on and he was getting some back that seemed to sap him badly.
Jury's still out on Haye for me 8)

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
i agree with you about him not being able to take a heavyweights punch, but thats part of the excitement, will he land before they do etc

After seeing him fight alot of times now and seen a couple of training sessions, for me he deosnt seem the type to grind it out or dig deep, i honestly see him getting beat when the going gets tuff and that will defintly happen now he is ranked number 1.

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
Smash? you and young David not friends anymore? ;D
I disagree about his last fight by the way. I thought it was a positive thing rather than negative. He did as he does and tried to blast the bloke out but it didnt happen, he then got a bit confused and took a few clips but ultimately came back quite late in the fight to get the stoppage.
Obviously gutting it out over twelve rounds against someone like Mormeck or Bell is a different story.
One negative is that he still expects the KO to come rather than letting it come, that takes more out of you. He still needs to settle down.

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
O' Neil Bell would Knock him TFO!!! Ditto Mormeck.

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
what about the guy that beat him?

IMO he's too one dimensional with regards to the punches he throws i.e. 1,2...1,2...1,2..
When that fails he looks poor and needs to widen his arsenal (GO TO THE BODY DAVID)
Think he'd be a much better fighter if he used a more varied array of shots.
Hopefully Lennox can teach him to use more punches while over in Miami.
And his Stamina is a big worry.

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
#1 in the WBC wow theres something to be proud of. Haye is decent enough good power & speed. He's a way of though from the top guys. When Cunningham wins his rematch with Guillermo Jones he should be right in line to take O'neil Bells world championship
-
Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
I can't honestly see him staying upright for more than 8 rounds with either O'Neil Bell or Mormeck....
Sorry but just can't see it happening.
We shall see soon enough tho 8)
-
Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
Bro
Dale Brown beat Bell but was robbed on the cards, & Cunningham is a lot better than Brown. Cunninghan would take an easy decision
-
Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
Don't get me wrong Haye is a top fella and really good company but he needs to really knuckle down at this stage of his career.
I'd love to see him take a World belt and hope he can do so and soon.
Very important stage in his career and he needs World honours badly and cannot afford another loss.

Re: Haye Ranked World number one Cruiserweight.......
Smash I think the punch selection and stamina are one and the same thing, not literally of course but he does come out giving it the big one two with the occasional flashy lead left hook thrown in. When his opponant doesnt crumble at his feet he gets a bit confused and also it drains the tank. Like i said though, the fact that his brain started to function again around about the 7th round is a positive thing, he just needs to eliminate the sticky patch in the middle. He keeps telling us how he isnt going to go for the knockout but let it come in its own time, clearly that didnt happen last time out as he spent rounds 3 through 6 looking like a mug.
