Cory is being Don Kings Puppett!!!!! They are already starting to promote a fight in November GUARANDAMTEED!!!!! Floyd grabs the strap at 154lbs then that sets the stage for the Delahoya fight next year...I really dont have a problem with that Cory has a WAY BETTER RESUME Than MARGARITO.... if Margarito is still in the mix next year than they can get together hopefully guys like Cotto and Hatton will have hit there strides at 147 and I see Julio being were Cotto is now except with a loss already ...I mean for all intense purposes 2007 will be a good year in Welterweight division and I am patient enough to wait and am excited

:coolclick: Thanks man I'll tell you I am all about the here and now but the horizon is looking GREAT!!! I mean if everything comes to fruition in 2007 it will be one of the most memorable years in Boxing there are a lot of dynamics going on in the Welterweight division also we have Calzaghe coming back from injury Winky, Taylor , Valuev , Juarez, PAC MAN and so many others, I mean there are a lot of superstars hitting stride and quite a few fighters with great potential knocking on the competitive door
OH and For PRIDE OF PROVIDENCE we have MANFREDO as an Honorable mention for good things next year as well C'MON AM I THE ONLY ONE STOKED ABOUT NEXT YEAR!!!

youre not alone buddy,
i anticipate big things next year, especially mayweather/delahoya :o
i think jermain taylor has a fight or two that will catapult him into superstar status
i also think that when pbf beats oscar, margarito (who will have been busy living up to all the hype surrounding him by cleaning up 147) will challenge floyd at 154 for another mega-fight.
yes......i agree completely, 2007 will be good :D cc for putting me in a good mood

Re: spinks has lost his mind
Some of you thought Karmazin would beat Spinks too. But Cory will give Floyd a fight and possibly win if they ever fought and if the fight's at 154 pounds Spinks would win it. And please nobody try to explain how Mayweather could stop Cory Spinks when he has an iron jaw. Ouma has an iron jaw and Karmazin dropped him, Spinks moved up in weight and was wobbled but not dropped. Spinks has an iron chin there's no way Floyd would ever stop him.

spinks lost a lot of speed moving up to 154.......that much is certain
not to mention how tired he got. when is the last time youve seen floyd exhausted like that?
spinks gets winded like that early with floyd, floyd will either ktfo spinks or the ref will stop the fight
floyd would pick that poor boy apart ;)
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Floyd was exhausted like that in the first Castillo fight.
Spinks tried to pick up the pace before he had adjusted to the 154 pound weight class fighting the way he did he was bound to get tired. Spinks wouldn;t get tired since he is saturated at the 154 pound weight class now ;) When's the last time you seen Spinks tired except his move up fight?
Spinks has great stamina too and you can bet that he wouldn't get tired against Mayweather, its not wise to keep your pace a weight class below when you're moving up. Spinks wouldn't get winded against Floyd and Floyd would lose speed too moving up to 154. And are you saying the only chance Floyd has is if Spinks got tired? ;)

how long ago was jlc/floyd 1? and i know you cant possibly be comparing a prime jlc to spinks, cause that would be ridiculous
heres why floyd whips spinks......... ;)
1) speed
2) power
3) skill
4) stamina
5) chin
spinks didnt exactly dominate his last fight, and that was karmazin.........not floyd mayweather jr.
and i dont even need to remind you of what happened when he fought zab ;)

Spinks has an iron chin? You should be on Tourgasm with Dane Cook because that's the funniest line I've ever heard.

So just because Zab Judah stopped him he doesn't? Karmazin dropped Ouma and didn't drop Spinks and Ouma has a good chin.

Re: spinks has lost his mind
Hearns dropped Duran but not Luigi Minchillo. I guess Minchillo has a better chin than Duran huh.
retarded logic ;D

It's not just that fight. Spinks has only been dropped and stopped by one fighter and thats Zab Judah. Cory in any other case has shown an iron jaw. What proof do you have that Cory doesn't have an iron jaw. And you call not being knocked down retarded logic, even more retarded is thinking that just because a fighter got stopped he has a glass jaw ;)
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Gee, let's see, maybe because he got knocked around the ring like a ragdoll against Mayorga and needed a point deduction to win. Or how about the fact that he damn near didn't even beat Glass, I mean Zab Judah in the first fight after almost getting KOd in the championship rounds.
ps--Spinks is a joke ;D
bye bye now :lickish:
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
How is Spinks a joke? Let me guess you thought Karmazin would beat him too ::**
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Of the 154 champs Floyd has the best shot against Spinks. I see the fight going like the Judah fight, Spinks clearly wins the early rounds, Floyd starts to time Spinks and starts to win the rounds, Floyd starts to clearly win the rounds late and gets the UD. Most likely a close call but I think Floyd would get it. It wouldnt surprise me if Spinks got a SD but I think Floyd would pull it out.
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Spinks chin has not improved I am sure, I think he just fought the right fight vs Karmazin. Let a guy like Vargas fight him...Spinks might be quick but as we saw vs Judah it doesn't really matter how quick he is he still gets hit

spinks DOES NOT have a steel chin (how many times has he been knocked down?)
do you even watch boxing? seriously....
youre asking why floyd wouldnt fight karmazin?? are you kidding me? youre right......floyd is terrified of karmazin and when floyd and spinks fight, spinks is going to prove you right and prove himself to be the #1 p4p fighter on the planet, possibly the greatest of all time.......that is, if floyd doesnt duck him like he did karmazin ::** ::**
seriously honey.............maybe you should stick with the wnba or something
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Floyd needs to fight guys that throw more shots like Gatti or Judah...you know what's coming and it's easy to counter....I don't know why he wouldn't jump at the chance to humiliate Margarito but then again Tony is a hell of a lot bigger than Floyd
-
Re: spinks has lost his mind
Cory Spinks better slow down. I shudder to think of the amount of punches Cory would get hit with after his feet get tired.

Twice. Both times against Judah.

Re: spinks has lost his mind
Spinks may have a good chin, but he doesn't have an Iron Chin. Wayne McCullough has an Iron Chin, Oliver McCall has an iron chin, George Chuvalho had an iron chin
People with an Iron chin do not get caned by Zab Judah ;)

Re: spinks has lost his mind
not quite the same as my is spinx retarded post
... but, mayweather would wipe the floor with spinks; and he'd know better than to leave it in the hands of the judges....there'll be no spinx fix.

What about challenge?
hold up, weren't you the one who was talking about Floyd wanting 5 world titles in 5 different weight classes and that he could take less money to do it as a reason he shouldn't fight Margarito when he can fight at a higher weight and get his title from a legitimate champion? Karmazin had just beaten Ouma it doesn't get much more legitful at 154 pounds. So why are you talking about money now? What happened to "Floyd's dream" of 5 titles in 5 different weight classes before he became 30, couldn't he have fought Karmazin to accomplish that?

Karmazin had just beaten Ouma it doesn't get much more legitful at 154 pounds. So why are you talking about money now? What happened to "Floyd's dream" of 5 titles in 5 different weight classes before he became 30, couldn't he have fought Karmazin to accomplish that?
Damn, that search button.
I saw him saying that about Floyds dream in the post he was apologizing in ;)
I saw it to. Must of been the drinks.

because a karmazin fight wouldnt make any money, and would probably not even be on ppv ;)

could have, but in case you forgot he was busy trying to make the delahoya fight happen at 154. which is a much bigger fight than karmazin

Re: spinks has lost his mind
He allowed Oscar to toy with his feelings and fight schedule!!! LOL
I bet you Fraud's all pissed that Oscar decided to send him to hell and not fight him!!
Floyd's trying to make history but he's hasn't fought any legit champs at 140 or 147 and he probably won't at 154 either. Thats the difference between him and DLH, and its pretty ironic, that even though he has more natural talent than possibly any fighter out there today (and than DLH when he was coming up through those weights) he decides to fight paper champs to chase money around like a two dollar whore.
One thing you can never take away from DLH is that he fought the legit champs at every weight he fought in, many of them being undefeated. He didn't have to chase the money, it came to him because he was the draw. Yet he still put together fights that the public wanted.
Floyd wants his name to go down in the books, but people will remember he won a title that was completely just made up by the WBC and basically given to Gatti at 140. Then he goes up an beats an illegitimate title holder and the already twice defeated Zab Judah (just coming off a loss) who only had a title because Baldomir couldn't pay the crap titles' "sanctioning fees" Whats he gonna do now?!!
Fight Hatton? Maybe. But I have a feeling he's going to move up and fight Spinks at 154. Undoubtedly he will beat him, but what will it prove? Not a god damn thing!! Skills can only take you so far and no one can compare Floyd to DLH in terms of career accomplishments(the way floyd's is headed)
I'm not hating, I acknowledge that Floyd is the best overrall skilled boxer in the world today. But he's fucking up his own career because of his idiotic decisions and money hungry, money driven personality. He only filled a PPV because of Gatti's name!! Nigga Pleeeeaaase!!

Even though DLH said he wasn't fighting anymore that year? And wasn't he also talking about fighting Wright who was no longer 154 pound champion? No Ouma was and guess who beat Ouma, Karmazin so why not fight for a legitimate title when DLH even said that the title he held was useless?

cc gotta to agree with you on your post. Everyday I am losing more and more respect for Floyd. The guy has tremendous skills but absolutely no guts. Right now he is just looking for the money and that 5th belt.

yeah wright wanted half the purse, too (he took less than half with jt)
because it would be better to see if karmazin was the real deal by defending to a solid opponent (like spinks) so that it would be a bigger fight.
that worked out for floyd btw ;) i like spinks (2 time world champ) better than karmazin (one hit wonder)
bigger draw
better match up
more money
hopefully floyds next fight is with spinks, margarito, or maybe even mosely (if the moneys right)
but im hoping for spinks, mostly

So you'd rather that Floyd fight Karmazin after one title defense rather then off of the biggest win of his career where he peaked? And what better 'solid' opponent to defend against then PBF?
So you WANT PBF to fight Spinks, right?
