So I hear Ricky is only going to have two more fights from Maxboxing...WTF?!?!?

#2 Arturo Gatti - It's a HUGE brawl that I have been waiting to see since I heard of Ricky...it MUST be made!!!
#1 MIGUEL COTTO - the fight plain and simple HAS to happen, Miguel is young and he's a brawler and he's the perfect guy to pass the torch to. And if you beat him PERHAPS you get a BIG money fight (bigger than anything else you've had)

Did you even read that article? Some guy is just advising Hatton to retire after 2 more fights. We all know Hatton ain't retiring yet.

Well Spinks has something they don't though, the judges in his back pocket. It's tuff to beat a guy like that, less you KO him. Anthony was playin round and tryin to be too fancy last time out but hes only a kid so he still has a lot to learn. I'd probably make the same mistake if I was boxin on national TV already and doin what I love.

I agree we will have to wait and see on the Peterson's, so far from what I have seen they are just slightly above average . Cotto is fun to watch, but I see a lot of mistakes in him. A fight with a Top guy will expose that lack of defense .

Tzyu was the undisputed champ and a star, Hatton was a glorified prospect at that point. True Warrior? Not yet IMO. Acting like he won the Collazo fight wasn't too cool. Was the first time he fought outta his backyard against a credible opponent, and he lost. Beating Tzyu was a shocker I'll admit, but Hatton still has much to prove. So like you I doubt the troll will only have 2 more fights.

You guys still think he should give Collazo a rematch? I do,especially seeing as his next fight is against Urkal,if he can make time for that,he can make time for Luis who gave him the shot in the first place.
Reminds me of PBF-Castillo 1 where most thought JLC won so just to shut everyone up,Floyd fought him the second time and won.Kudos to him,I believe Ricky needs to do the same.

Thats cus Castillo did win the first fight, just like Collazo. And it didn't shut me up, I will always say Castillo won that first fight. Definately though, Hatton should give Collazo a rematch.

Yeah my man,I completely agree,I thought JLC won the first fight too but Floyd did a great job of answering any question marks about him in the second fight,which he won easily. I feel Hatton should fight Luis again especially as he said he was willing to come to England to fight Ricky!!

it was henry cooper that said rick should only have two more fights at a charity dinner in manchester this week. he was saying that the style that rick uses wont last forever and he would'nt want rick to burn himself out, so he should have two more fights and walk with about a £4 million pension.

I'll tell you I am all about the here and now but the horizon is looking GREAT!!! I mean if everything comes to fruition in 2007 it will be one of the most memorable years in Boxing there are a lot of dynamics going on in the Welterweight division also we have Calzaghe coming back from injury Winky, Taylor , Valuev , Juarez, PAC MAN and so many others, I mean there are a lot of superstars hitting stride and quite a few fighters with great potential knocking on the competitive door
OH and For PRIDE OF PROVIDENCE we have MANFREDO as an Honorable mention for good things next year as well C'MON AM I THE ONLY ONE STOKED ABOUT NEXT YEAR!!!
hopefully guys like Cotto and Hatton will have hit there strides at 147 and I see Julio being were Cotto is now except with a loss already ...I mean for all intense purposes 2007 will be a good year in Welterweight division and I am patient enough to wait and am excited

highly doubt the truth of him fighting only 2 more times but I do believe he will fight a max of 6 more times.Here are possible opponents:
140pounds
Corrales
Castillo
147
Gatti(although he's pencilled in for a DEC fight with Cotto)
Baldomir(again,possibly fighting PBF)
Cotto(not this year though)
PBF(doesn't seem as exciting a prospect as before but if it was@140,would be much more exciting)
Margarito(mentioned him once but after the Collazo fight,never mentioned him again)
Collazo(should give him a rematch,answer the questions asked)
Hatton does not have many options left for this year at all!! He could fight 1 of the dangerous prospects but he could get beaten ie Williams,Quintana,Clottey etc etc.

that's all true, but (1) the kt thing has limited relevance, because i don't doubt a fighter can make a lot more money in europe than in australia and (2) while ricky makes more ppv $$ in the uk than in the us NOW, it still stands to reason that he could make a whole lot more if he got respect and a name in the US.
anyway, i had missed your point earlier about giving kt 70/30, so i think you're right about ricky not being all about the money. all i'm saying is that as far as the money IS concerned, there's way more potential in the US. CC.
