Well Shannon might still have some hand speed and he's physically bigger than Wlad but I feel that Shannon's recent fights show he doesn't have the confidence that he used to and he may just be hanging on for paydays.
Wlad will start this fight like any other, dominate with the jab and then use the right hand but that left hook is the punch I think that will end it for Shannon...he has a good chin but he's been floored before.
Shannon will come in heavy and tire out by the end of the 3rd round and by the 5th it'll all be over and Wlad will have scored another spectacular knockout
....also notice Shannon hasn't fought a ranked guy since the 90's...his weaknesses are that of poor competition, old age, and stamina
Wlad will wear Briggs out and stop him around the 8th.
I don't think there's anyone around who thinks that Briggs has much chance of even going the distance with Wlad, it just seems to be a bit of a mismatch.
Briggs will do a Danny Williams, go in there extra heavy to try and get the power over Wlad, and just end up looking slow and pnderous.
If Briggs got his weight down he would have a better chance!
Sweetheart. He has no chanceQuote:

Yeah but what happens when he gets hit? If he gets hit?Quote:

The deciding factor, IWO, is going to be Briggs's lack of defense & the fact that his stamina is a joke.
Everytime that Briggs get's clocked by anyone with heavy hands he shells up. Not sure if anyone saw the Lewis fight, but Briggs was open to the right hand pretty much throughout the five or six rounds that they fought.
The man lost to Jameel McCline for Christ's sake... ::**
Briggs also couldn't take it to the body that well either.
IWO...beating up on 10 or 11 bums in a row does not make you a champion. I think Wlad's gonna pretty much destroy him...no matter how much courage his knockout streak has boosted his brain cells.

Watch this and remember this is when Wladimir is totally out of gasQuote:

He is caught flush numerous times and doesn't go down until he's just exhausted.
Shannon Briggs can't weather what Brewster did, there is NO WAY
I voted WK win. However, winning against Peter and Byrd was much a matter of utilizing a hight and reach and over-view advantage. He was, like Foreman, using his long arms to obscure Byrds vision and get his lethal rights in.
Now, what other tall, huge, man with fast hands and good chin has he been fighting? The great Sanders (not great? well apart from being also a golfer and policeman, not only did he beat WK, he stood, not in the best a shape, toe to toe with Vitaly K and traded until he was stopped in late rounds -still standing. VK is the best HW the last 10 years and just getting better. Now how is that for a gutsy title defence? Stupid really. What if Sanders had decided to defend against Byrd, Toney, Jones, Holyfield, Tyson, McBride, Golata (How would Golotas or Tyson's minds handle a huge man with a southpaw stance an insane left hand who refuses to go down.) etc.?
Anyway back to the topic. VK may get scared of Briggs and panik. It could become an incredible war the first rounds if Briggs can catch up with WK. If he catches WK flush even ones early in the round we may have Sanders dejavue. This doesnt make Briggs as good as WK, WK will beat him over 10 matches probably 8/10 but there are those 2...
Two big punchers both with no chin. This should be entertaining, but W. Klitschkos defense is better than Briggs'. Wladimir by KO about round 5 or 6
Briggs is a righty and thus the angles that Sanders had won't be thereQuote:

Briggs has fast hands and yeah he can hit but you have to realize he hasn't been in vs anyone close to Wlad's skill level in a LOOOOOONG time. Shannon is also aware of Wlad's power and if he isn't it will be evident with the first jab Wlad lands. This fight can go 1 of 2 ways, Wlad outboxes him and knocks him down a couple times before stopping it late or Wlad totally dominates him and knocks him the fuNk out..Shannon winning is not really an option in my mind, he has skill but he is done as a top level fighter.
Wlad is fighting the most dangerous contender when compared to the other heavyweights (Toney comes in second because 1) Wlad exposed Sam Peter 2) James Toney has a GREAT style to beat Sam Peter)
hmmmm.... I really don't see that fight coming off. Something will happen (Briggs side) to stop it.
This is the kinda shit I'm talkin about...

But as I said, will still put 1000$ on WK KO.
Yeah Briggs will cause some difficulty but Wladimir will take him out sooner or later
McCline is just as big as Shannon and Wlad whipped his ass. Briggs' hands are a little faster and he has more power but I really don't think he'll bother Wlad too much.Quote:

Fighting Toney makes much more sense; less risk, and if he loses its because Toney is cute, no shame in that, Foreman lost to Jimmy Young. Briggs is a very stupid fight. VK must unify because he is young handsome, no criminal, knockout puncher w weaknesses: a mainstream sportsman so Boxing can go more mainstream again.
He picks them because they are more dangerous and he can look better once he knocks them out...you want him to fight the type of opponents Valuev and Lyakhovich are fighting?!?!
Klitschko-Briggs is GREAT for heavyweight boxing win lose or draw
i would like briggs to win but my money$ with W.klitschko
Yes Shannon should win to make sure every last fucking heavyweight title holder is a chumpQuote:

Yes it could be that its a complete mismatch, with Briggs looking confused and out of his league.
Wlad looks like a machine in that pic....I think Wlad may be a new fighter...Seeing how he got up as many times as he did against Peters shows he doesnt get flustered in pressure situations like before...Like the Saunders fight after the first knockdown he seemed confused...I still prefered Vitaly as an over all fighter but Wlad is making headway bigtimeQuote:
